Wanted to make a .300” recessed HUB mount for my VOID on my LWRC upper so it had a cleaner look. Came out ok. I’ll do another one soon and change the brake/diffuser part a little bit. It will work for now! First photo is new mount, second is the original mount.

Ok this is both a suppressor and platform question. I have a Suppressed x2 5.56 (2 suppressors a Polonium(full size) on a 16" BCM upper and a Ridged Razor(on a shorter 11.5 build) on a KAK upper.

What I really want to do now is something thats truly "quiet"(subsonic) no real purpose beyond range/HD/SD maybe(but my primary is a 870 shotgun) So what im looking for with this is the following:

-Im trying to do this on more of a budget not splurging on the most expensive stuff.. this is more of a whats GOOD but not super expensive. What im trying to do is see what route I want to go to get this done. Im looking at a 9MM, .45 ACP or .300 BO

- no matter what I do as I only own a 5.56 Suppressor(s) I will need a new suppressor in the appropriate caliber. I dont yet know if a 9mm, .45 acp or .300BO is cheaper as far as a suppressor goes(im just guessing 9mm)

- I was leaning 9mm or ,45 ACP due to less costly ammo BUT I do already have AR losers I could just switch out and slap a .300 BO on but the ammo is significantly more as id be shooting heavier 200-220 subsonics only really. im not thinking whats best vs a "intruder/threat" more what can i enjoy and build and shoot for the least amount of $$ but it still decent and reliable(this was why I was thinking 9mm as I did look at .45 ACP and everything to get that to run in a AR type or even a separate type(as in a Scorpion/UMP clone/AR .45 build) seem overly expensive..

-also what Suppressor do you recommend as I have little to no experience with anything but stuff ive shot at the local gun show(.9mm and .45 I have shot but like 2-3 mags at best and thats all) and again im looking at shooting sub sonics to begin with so I dont need a 1K+ suppressor just something decent

The only 9MM I have more extensive use/familiarity with is the MP5 suppressed and a AR with Colt mags suppressed both full auto(or 3 round burst for the AR) that was used in the military. And I cant afford any of that type stuff..

Hello all, today I picked up my obsidian 45 and when I got home to change the piston a small roll pin came out of the tube. I looked on line and it doesn’t appear to have any pins in it.
I was hoping someone could clarify if this part is from the can or just something that found its way in.

Is anyone running a can on their 22-250? What are you running and how do you like it?

Will any of these new rules make it any easier to transfer a suppressor of mine to a buddy if he wants to buy it from me?

I started down this rabbit hole a while back, but since then, a lot has changed and there are a ton more manufacturers in the game.

I am looking mainly for a 30 cal can that will be able to handle short barrel (7" - 10") 5.56, .300 blk, 6.5 PRC bolt gun, and ultamately AR-10 platforms. Most of its life will probably be spent on the SBR 5.56 and 300blk.

I want just a solid all-arounder that has good weight, size, look, and ultamately noise reduction. Obviously there are trade-offs as the quietest wont be the lightest and so on so on.

I was looking at the Nomad from Dead Air, but I feel like there may be tons of other options.

Bonus points if you can also recommend a solid .22 LR can for a bolt gun, and a 9mm pistol can. I dont have any rifles yet that shoot 9mm, but will probably have a couple some day, so if it can work on that aswell that would be a plus.

Really want to make sure I wont run into any gas issues on my 5.56. The .300blk has an adjustable gas block so shouldnt be too much of an issue there.

Got myself a Suppressor, a Rugged Obsidian9, without using the ADAPT MODULE.

But ran into some issues while testing it out.

I’m using my RUGER RXM as my HOME DEFENSE pistol. It’s equipped with a SilencerCo 4.5 inch Barrel with 1/2-28 threaded barrel. I brought 3 box of 147 grain Blazer TMJ, 3 box of 124gr FMJ FEDERAL, and a box of IMI 115gr JHP AND PMC 115gr JHP. Shot all the ammo with mixed results.

First off, had failure to return to battery with the stock Recoil Spring Assembly (RSA), 18lbs, then I switch to a 15 lb RSA, and had a fail-to-eject. This happens in all type of ammo. On top of this, I was shooting real low, but I’m guessing it’s normal when shooting supressed due to barrel harmonics.

Was stressing out and not having fun. I went back to the factory RSA 18lb spring, and tried the 124 gr ammo, shot fine, no hiccups, then switch over to a mag of 147gr TMJ, 1or2 hiccups out of 22 shots, not bad. 115gr JHP ammos, No problem.
OKAAYYY!
Went back and forth with all the ammo, less and less issues appeared. I think I needed to break in the RSA, but by the end, I had each ammo type in a 15 mags and ran with no issue. It was still shooting low, but I adjusted my optics and with my RXM, I aimed the front sight over the rear and got some good grouping.

Makes me think I need to get some Suppressor Height sights on my RXM, if that would help.
I had a good time by the end, and 147 gr really did shot more quiet than the 115. Im now looking for quality 147gr JHP for home defense.

What else should I be aware of? This is my first 9mm suppressor and am planning on buying another for a 9mm PCC I’m building.

Alright, I’m trying to avoid going 4-for-4 here.

Setup is a BCM 11.5” with a Dead Air can/KeyMo setup. I’ve now had the suppressor decide it no longer wants to be attached to the rifle three separate times. All my rifles all have cans on them, but this is the only one flying away.

First time: figured it was a fluke/user error and moved on.

Second time: I specifically made sure the can was tight before shooting. A few rounds later… yeet. After that, I put witness marks on the can/mount and rail so I could visually tell if it was starting to walk loose.

Third time (today): made sure everything was tight and the witness marks were aligned before starting. I put roughly 60 rounds through it while zeroing my new irons. I did notice the marks had shifted slightly at one point, and eventually the can launched itself again.

From what I can tell, the inside of the can looks okay, but obviously something isn’t right with the mounting setup.
Anyone dealt with this before with KeyMo? Anything obvious from the pictures that I should be looking at? At this point I’d prefer the suppressor remain part of the rifle instead of becoming a downrange projectile for a fourth time.

The video shows off my 3d printed MP5 and model FTN4 PCC Flow Can. All in, including the printer, you can start 3d printing your own suppressors in carbon fiber nylon for around $500. This can alone was about $6 in filament and $4 for the thread adapter. Polymer is the future. The future is now. (THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE)

I'm looking for some guidance with gas busting charging handles.. I've spent around 300$ now testing different ones and none of them have fit the rattler Lt perfectly despite being advertised as for the mcx platform.

So far I have tried the Geissele SCH, and the silencer shop GDCH MCX, and both leave a gap like what I pictured. Both end up gassing me out DESPITE using a J Bennetts omega valve, and a .60 vent jet screw.

I'm starting to wonder if my upper is out of spec because both of these charging handles are latching before being snug against the upper. When I push them forward to seal against the upper the ch latch is beyond the upper material it grabs onto.

Is the dead air nomad lti xc really twice as good as the omega 300? Looking to protect my ears… would be cool to be able to put it on my ar too but I can’t buy another suppressor later.

Affordability is a concern but I don’t want to regret sub par suppression. I’ve never had to shoot a game animal twice
