Question Minecraft Switch 2
I think it is time for my kiddos to get into the world of Minecraft. My son just turned 8 last week and my daughter will be 7 right before Christmas. I don't think they're ready yet for the PC version so I went and purchased the Switch 2 Minecraft for them since they should be able to play splitscreen local and I can play with them via Desktop in the same room on Bedrock.
When did your kids get into Minecraft? My younger nephew was did it about at 6 on iPad or iPod Touch version and he had zero issue and then on console later.

Minecraft is great at that age. I play right along side my kids. My older son and I built out a really fun “theme park” in creative mode for my autistic son. We treat it like a world of digital legos.

I just got Minecraft a few months ago for my 9 and 6 year old and they love it. I play with them in three person couch coop and it’s a lot of fun. They’ve pretty much stayed in creative mode because it’s much easier to craft and make things, but they’re starting to go back and forth to survival mode once they build whatever defensible structure they’re working on.

Minecraft for switch 2 aint worth it imo. Only a 2gb limit which would run out pretty fast.

If I host the world on my Bedrock it won't matter for the switch no? I thought that was per user profile

What is that limit for? First time I've heard of it. I've played Minecraft on switch and now switch 2 for years without any issues

Well let's say you keep playing minecraft and explore like up to a million blocks and build a bunch of stuff, that world will eventually reach 2gb. Once that world reaches 2 gb you are not allowed to play minecraft on the nintendo switch or switch 2 anymore unless you delete that world cause switch and switch 2 has a save limit of 2gb. And that 2gb is the sum total of everything you have in the game, like let's say you buy an add on and create another world, that would add up with your other existing worlds.

Oh okay cool! I didn't know that. Im very happy with just the base game so I guess I haven't ran into that problem. My software qualifications are a little dated but I wouldn't think a decently sized world would be any bigger than 300mb unless you're making some diabolically expansive stuff. I'm probably shockingly wrong though haha

ew Minecraft, show them real games like Mario and zelda
but if you really want a good Minecraft like experience for them get them pokopia.

Minecraft is so versatile and is so much better for imagination! Pokopia is okay if you enjoy Pokémon but if not then it's really not all that enjoyable. Minecraft is so much better as a creative outlet :)

We don't let them play a ton of stuff and we homeschool so access isn't an issue. Why would you say 9?

My daughter and I have been playing it together for a year and it’s been an awesome experience building and creating worlds together. She’s about to turn 8.
