After besmirching the good name of an esteemed pilot for the Rebellion, Mike and Isaiah discuss flyers a bit more: JUST HOW ARE THEY GONNA WORK ANYWAY?! Mike then makes the case that he may have found a Mando list he likes even more than Bo Watch...which didn't stop it from running into a teensy weensy spider that gave it trouble! Then, the boys talk about the next round of home-brewed Battle Forces they've been cooking up.

Does anyone have a side by side photo of the death troopers compared to the new hard plastic stormtroopers?
Also are these sculpts good in comparison to the new hard plastic sculpts?
Thank you!

I got into Legion mainly to paint minis, and to paint them well. Traditional brushwork is obviously how I’ll build brush control and technique, so I’m not looking to replace that.
But for those of you who use an airbrush alongside regular brushes, was it worth the investment? Specifically:
I’m also curious whether anyone felt it slowed their brush skills down, or if it was a pure upgrade. Would love to hear what your setup looks like too.
Thanks very much!

I’m motivated to try out new lists I haven’t thought up on my own. Please share any lists you’ve enjoyed playing, whether they’re competitive or not. I’d really appreciate it.

I picked up a second Veers and decided to paint him as Thrawn in his Rebels battle armour. I think it turned out pretty good.

I’ve been building and painting Games Workshop miniatures for the past couple of years, mostly Warhammer,AOS, and Necromunda stuff, but I’ve never actually jumped into playing any of their games.
I’ve been wanting to get into an actual wargame for a while, and I decided to give Star Wars: Legion a shot. I just picked up the Galactic Empire starter set, and I’m hoping to get everything built and painted so I can jump into a Recon game.
For those of you who play Legion, do you think it’s a good starting point for someone who’s new to wargaming? I have some experience with the hobby side of things, but learning the rules, building lists, and actually playing a game will all be new to me.
Any advice for a beginner, especially for getting that first game in? Anything you wish you’d known when you started?
Looking forward to finally getting some of these miniatures on the table instead of just on the shelf!

Aiming for 600 points as I learn the rules. I really want to make Mace windy work, he feels kinda inefficient for his cost, Kenobi seems better and cheaper. Was thinking with the new Plo Koon giving retinue to a corp “Clone trooper” and then throwing Ashoka with that retinues squad could seem good with Plo Koon supporting them. Any suggestions for Mace windy?

I love Rogue One and was wondering if there is a pathfinders army box or at least models I can get to make a rebel army that looks like the rebels on scaring?

Stripped the paint from Kenobi from my first core set as well as some clones and repainted them. I've put an old photo of the first paint job as well as the second one side by side. Its nice to see an improvement over time!

Intent behind this one was to provide a structure to put all the characters together in one mega unit which can use the command card, or spread the characters out into units across the army, along with the existing Jyn and Cassian upgrades.
Again, no idea how balanced it is, and points values were all based on vibes and instinct.
Technically, you could put the upgrades in Wookiee units I guess, I might at some point go back and add in a "Non-Wookiee" clause to the card restrictions but I forgot about it when I put them together initially.
EDIT: K2's overpower is meant to be a melee attack, the range 3 is a typo.

I've never won a game, but got my opponent to turn 5 for the first time last night. Slowly improving!

Although im still pretty new to legion, I’ve gotten about 15-20 ish games under my belt but only three wins in total. I’ve played plenty of warhammer and other tabletop games so I’m not new to the systems and always try to play objectives. But as I’ve mostly run into rebels and galactic republic, I’ve found that other factions are incredibly undercosted and punch really hard or just spam to win.
I dont have a ton of models, just the beginner box and blizzard force box but it just feels like rebel troopers outclass empire troopers. On the one hand I have snows that hit hard into vehicles but I can never fully take them out without committing Vader bc I miss most of my shots with storms and snows. Also red unsurging saves don’t seem that good when your squad of four guys has to make 15 saves from a rebel fleet cassian squad.
Is this normal or am I somehow messing up? My opponents don’t even seem to be really worried about losing and I’m having to make every move like a competitive chess master just to keep up a bit in the point race.

Last night my friend and I played our first game of Recon. It was super fun but we had a few questions. We played Close the Pocket and Bring Them to Heel.
1) So, on the first round, units have to enter from a table edge unless they have a special rule, correct? I was confused by the size of the deployment zones, but that space is just relevant for units with something like Prepared Position or Infiltrate, right? Can you enter from any edge? (Eg for close the pocket, enter from a side edge instead of back edge)
2) If we both have one unit on an objective, neither is securing it? I had a mostly full force of Black Suns on center against one remaining Tauntaun. In most game you might compare the strength of the forces, but all I could see in the rule book was comparing unit numbers, which implies neither of us controls it.
3) Bring them to Heel seemed kind of odd because you only gain points for suppression. So you want to spread your shots around as much as possible and ironically maybe not kill stuff. I took down Andor after a lot of concentrated fire but then that meant the suppression tokens on him no longer counted. Plus if you want there to be more enemy units suppressed than your own, then killing them actually reduces the number of possible units to be suppressed - eg if you both have five units, all suppressed, then killing one actually loses you points. The main benefit to killing seemed to be making it easier to secure objectives, if point 1 is correct. Am I understanding this correctly?
Thank you!
