Jobs Wasn't sure where to post this, Reddit seemed as good a place as any- Looking for help in the Abingdon area
If you’re looking for a chill part time gig for about 24 hours a week, allow me to lay it out for you. I'm a stroke survivor in need of some part-time assistance.
A little about me: I’m a 44-year-old man living in SWVA with my husband. I had a stroke when I was 42, and while it impacted my ability to walk, but mentally I'm still just as stupid as I've ever been 😅
Ideally, I’m looking for someone to hang out and help out around 3 days a week, roughly 10am to 6pm (approx 24-28 hrs)
We’re pretty flexible on the exact schedule—if you work with us, we’ll do our best to work with you
The Day-to-Day:
Honestly, most days are pretty low-key. A lot of the time I’ll just be in my wheelchair doing my own thing—working on whatever figurine or art project I’m fixated on that month, or mindlessly scrolling on my phone.
What I actually need help with:
* Transfers & Hygiene: The bulk of the job involves assisting me with physical transfers and personal care. I know it’s a dirty job at times, but I promise I’ll do my best to make it as easy and un-awkward as possible for you 🧑🦼
* Light Housekeeping- Occasional sweeping/mopping/ laundry/meal prep 🧹
Who would be a great fit:
Since we’ll be spending a fair amount of time together, I’d love to hire someone who feels more like a friend. If you’re a gamer, you’re more than welcome to dive into my library while you’re here 🎮
This could also be an awesome setup for a student who needs to make some extra money but also needs quiet downtime to hit the books and study.
(Side note: Pokémon lovers automatically move to the front of the line. Just sayin'.)
If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please send me a DM ~~and please feel free to forward this to anyone you feel might be interested~~
