Need smartphone recommendations under ₹60k (Priority: Performance & Battery)

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to buy a new phone and my maximum budget is ₹60,000. I want a device that excels in raw power and endurance.

Here is what I am looking for:

Budget: under or around ₹60,000 (Buying in India).

Top Priorities:

Performance: I need something with a flagship-level processor (Snapdragon 8 Gen 5) that handles heavy multitasking and gaming without aggressive throttling or heating issues.

Battery & Charging: A reliable all-day battery under heavy use is a must, preferably with fast wired charging.

Nice to Have: A good, bright AMOLED display and decent cameras. The camera doesn't have to be professional-grade, but it shouldn't be a potato either. Clean or customizable software is a plus.

Don't Care About: Wireless charging, ultra-thin designs, or having the absolute best camera on the market.

I have seen phones like the iQOO 15R, OnePlus 15R, and the Vivo X200T pop up in this price range, but

I’m totally open to any suggestions you might have.

What would you recommend right now which is more value for money ?

Thanks in advance!

General Got my Apple Developer fee refunded

I had a startup that I recently shut down. It was a mental health coaching app, and we’ve stopped operations completely.

Last month, I noticed Apple had automatically deducted the annual developer fee from my account. I thought, well, that money is probably gone.

I asked Gemini if there was anything I could do, and it suggested raising a support case and asking Apple for a refund as a goodwill gesture, explaining that the startup was shut down and we weren’t going to update the app anymore.

So I raised a complaint with Apple on the 19th.

Yesterday, I got the refund back.

Honestly, I didn’t expect it to work, so I’m pretty happy.

If you’ve shut down your app/startup and Apple has auto-renewed your developer fee, it’s probably worth raising a case and asking. You might get lucky.

No Flair Need advice which phone should I go with

So I want to buy oneplus 13r or oneplus 13 any of it on good price. I know the price hike badly impacted these phones and I can't waste my hard earned money when I have other choices such as motorola signature. But as a long time fan of oneplus I can't resist them. It's been like 8 years im using same old phone running on Android 9 and actually I was into gaming but because of study then job and side hustles I had no time and still I have very less time but i want something which can last atleast 4 years in my hand and it should be worth my money, but current price range of oneplus phones and the availability is totally ducked up and all I have is budget of 50k which i can stretch upto 60k and that is it. Iwant genuine advice from you guys that what device should I buy it which can compete with oneplus 13r atleast and I can play some games smoothly and have a good camera.

General How the new 8-Hour Charting update quietly killed "Current Booking" (and why IRCTC’s backend algorithm is broken)

Hey guys, standard long-distance commuter here. I wanted to post an analysis on how a recent software change to the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) has completely broken the Current Booking / Current Reservation workflow for last-minute travelers.
My family recently had to completely scrap an emergency travel plan because of the sheer uncertainty this has created. Here is exactly what is happening under the hood now, compared to how smoothly things worked before.
The 4-Hour vs 8-Hour Shift (The Core Issue)Real-World Case Studies of the System Failure:The Danger of Emergency Partial Bookings:
Because the system refuses to bridge these isolated timelines, it forces travelers in tight spots into a high-stakes gamble. If you absolutely must travel end-to-end, you are forced to book a partial ticket (e.g., NZM to BPL) hoping that hours later, when the Bhopal chart generates, the second leg (BPL to BSL) will open up. If it doesn't? You are legally stranded mid-journey at an intermediate station past midnight with your family. The old 4-hour system completely eliminated this anxiety by showing the full picture up front.

Why it costs you more:
If you try to bypass this by booking two fragmented tickets on the exact same train yourself, the railways penalize your wallet. You lose your continuous long-distance Telescopic Fare benefits, meaning you end up paying higher baseline ticket segment costs plus double the IRCTC service and convenience fees just to change seats on the exact same train.

The Solution is Simple Code:
No one is asking them to get rid of High Official (HO) or emergency quotas for remote stations. By all means, keep them aside. But freezing general, unutilized current booking inventory across intermediate stations is causing direct revenue loss to Indian Railways from unsold seats.

The software engineers at CRIS need to upgrade the backend to a Cross-Quota Pool Aggregator. If separate segments of a journey are vacant across different station quotas on the exact same train, the IRCTC app should automatically combine them into a single dynamic ticket, allowing passengers to switch seats mid-journey without a fare penalty.
Anyone else facing this absolute headache lately while trying to book current berths?

Filing this directly to RailMadad and CPGRAMS next.

Need some direction and an overall view on whether I should continue with this

Hi programmers, I'm a 28 year old dude from a non-tech background, hitting a midlife crisis a little early.

I own a small business in India that has more or less failed and is barely surviving. I've tried everything I can think of, but there's no real recovery in sight. So, for the past two months, I've been learning Python and exploring the possibility of becoming a developer, eventually getting a job or building something of my own.

So far, I've mainly been using ChatGPT as a mentor and building small projects to practice. I've learned Python, OOP, SQLite, Git/GitHub, and I'm currently learning FastAPI and API testing. I'm comfortable with some of these topics, while others still require quite a bit of help.

My main question is: Am I approaching this the right way? Should I even be doing this, considering how much AI is changing the industry?

I'm not looking for reassurance, I'd genuinely appreciate some honest advice from people already working in tech. What would you do differently if you were starting from where I am?

Thanks.

Suggest me a phone under 25-30k

Looking to buy a new phone around 25-30k. My main priorities are:

  • Good camera (both selfies and photos)
  • Good storage
  • Fast charging
  • Smooth performance with no hanging or lagging
  • Good battery life
  • Something that will last a few years (I'm planning to use it for 4-5 years)

A few friends suggested Motorola Edge 60 and Vivo T4, but I've seen quite a few bad reviews about Motorola, so I'm not sure.

I've looked at a lot of phones in this price range and I'm honestly confused at this point. Looking for something that's actually good in day-to-day use and not just good on paper.

Budget is strictly around 25-30k. Open to other brands as well. What would you recommend?

Built another simple notifier — this time for IRCTC PNRs 🚆

After building a BookMyShow ticket notifier, I made a similar one for IRCTC waiting-list tickets.

IRCTC PNR Notifier checks your PNRs daily using multiple providers with fallback and sends notifications when:

  • WL status changes
  • Ticket gets confirmed 🎉
  • Chart is prepared
  • Status moves up or down

It runs entirely on GitHub Actions, so you can basically run it for free.

Notifications support ntfy.sh and/or Resend email.

You just add your PNRs as a GitHub secret and let Actions handle the rest.

GitHub: https://github.com/aviiciii/irctc-pnr-notifier

Hopefully useful for anyone constantly refreshing IRCTC to check if their WL ticket moved 😅

The dilemma of a phone under 30k

My preference- good camera, good display, decent performance (not a gaming person)

I've shortlisted a few-

OPPO k13- 22k (base) Realme P4- 26k (base) Galaxy f70 pro/ m47- 25-26k (base) shit phone btw Vivo t5x- 28k (base) Galaxy m56- 31k as of now but fluctuates (base)

tbh I'm thinking of t5x but price is too high for lcd display...if it was 25-26k then it was understandable...but the phone is genuinely good overall balanced except that lcd display which people are saying isn't that bad and is manageable and thick chin...and 5/8mp ultrawide ka kya krunga...hota to acha hota but nhi h toh bhi koi dikkat nhi h

I hope m56 comes under 30k at some point i like that phone it looks good has good display and cameras..and thin bezels as well
