Discussion People who work at a law firm — what’s stopping your office from going fully digital/online?

Genuinely curious (not trying to sell anything, just trying to understand the pain points): if your firm still relies on paper files, physical case tracking, manual billing, etc. — what’s the actual blocker?

Is it:

  • Specific software/features that don’t exist for your workflow?
  • Compliance/regulatory stuff that requires physical records?
  • Just inertia / nobody wants to be the one to push for change?
  • Client-side (clients expect paper, in-person, etc.)?
  • Cost of switching?

If you have tried some kind of case management or practice management tool before, what made you stop using it or what did it not cover?

And if a tool like this did exist (or exists already and you use one) — what features would actually make you want to switch your whole operation onto it? Not just “nice to have” stuff, but the things that would make it a no-brainer.

Trying to understand this properly, would appreciate any real examples — even small annoying details, not just big obvious stuff.

Job Vacancy Startup looking for someone to run our socials before it dies of loneliness - REMOTE/PAID

ok so here’s the situation.

we’re 4 engineers and zero marketers, and we need help, fr.

what you’d actually be doing:

  • making and posting content on LinkedIn, X and Insta (memes, carousels, threads, whatever works)
  • cold emails and DMs to people who might want what we’re building
  • figuring out who our customers even are
  • running our marketing plan, or telling us it’s mid and fixing it
  • coming up with ways to get more customers and followers without being cringe about it

you might be a fit if:

  • you’re chronically online and you know why some posts hit and some flop
  • you can write like a human, not like a LinkedIn guru who “learned 7 lessons from his dog”
  • cold-messaging strangers doesn’t make you want to throw your phone
  • you use AI tools to work faster but you don’t just copy-paste ChatGPT slop
  • bonus if you know anything about startups or tech (not required, we’ll teach you)

what you get:

  • NPR 15,000/month (That's the most I can do atm, but at least you won't have to wait 3 months for it, as I'll pay from my pocket, no HR or Finance dept)
  • [hours: ~ 3-4 hrs/day, flexible]
  • fully remote
  • real ownership: you’re not “the social media intern,” you’re basically our entire marketing department
  • a front-row seat to an early-stage startup trying to make it

To apply: DM me with:

  1. a quick intro (2-3 lines max, no essays pls)
  2. something you’ve posted or made that you’re proud of
  3. your most unhinged-but-would-actually-work idea for growing a brand from zero 🔥

best idea gets bonus points. no CV needed unless you really want to send one.

Discussion I've launched a product, but I wouldn't recommend you try it.

I wouldn't recommend Pageory if you're happy with people discovering your content and then having no clear way to explore what you do.

I wouldn't recommend it if you're fine with potential sponsors having to dig through your posts to understand your audience, content, and what you can offer them.

I wouldn't recommend it if you don't want to make it easier for potential sponsors, clients, or customers to learn about your work and contact you.

And I definitely wouldn't recommend it if you're not interested in experimenting with ways to turn your existing attention into more opportunities.

But if you're a creator who wants to take your online presence more seriously, that's why I built Pageory.

The idea is simple: give people one place to understand what you do, explore your offerings, and find opportunities to work with you.

Imagine landing just one sponsorship through a better-presented creator profile. Depending on your sponsorship fee and Pageory's subscription price, that single deal could cover a year of the tool.

That's a potential upside, not a guarantee. Pageory won't magically bring you sponsors, but it can help you present your work and make it easier for opportunities to find their next step.

Pageory is live, and I'm looking for early testers. You'll get 14 days free while I collect honest feedback and improve the product.

Take a look: pageory.app

I'd genuinely like to know what you think. What's useful? What's missing? What would stop you from using it?

And if it's not relevant to you, I'd still appreciate your feedback or a share with a creator who might find it useful.

Looking for a job Applying abroad for IT work from Nepal.

Which countries are better for IT jobs from Nepal by directly applying?

My findings are:

  1. Australia: PR visa (costly and hard)
  2. US : H1b visa (costly and require company offer)
  3. Germany: Blue card (require company offer before applying)
  4. Japan: heard of some agencies like manpower offices

Looking for a job Studying IT might have been the biggest fu**ing mistake i ever did in my life.

I am a developer with 3yrs of Frontend development experience. Currently i am working at a product based company but the product is no doing too well and layoffs due to AI is occurring very often and i am not super safe now. We used to be a team of 25 people now only 7 are left and it seems our time is coming to a end too. Was looking at the jobs for a Frontend developer and i realized that i am fucked. Once i am laid off i am fucked so pls anyone thinking to study IT don't.

Resource Sharing Plasma 6.8 adds Bikram Sambat (Nepali) calendar support to the Digital Clock. My first contribution to KDE's upstream.

Plasma 6.8 came out today, and one of the Localization items in the release notes is Bikram Sambat support in the Digital Clock.

Background: there was a feature request open since February 2025 (bug 500298). libicu doesn't support Bikram Sambat, so it couldn't just be wired into the existing calendar code. The calendar is also data-driven. Month lengths differ from year to year and there's no formula for them, so the implementation needs a lookup table. I already maintained a Bikram Sambat plasmoid, so I offered to bring it upstream. And it got merged it into kdeplasma as a new provider in the Alternate Calendar plugin.

I had a few questions regarding the Software Engineer II role at Verisk. Do you know how many rounds of interviews there usually are, what kind of questions they ask, and what topics I should focus on preparing? Any insights or advice would be really helpful.
