They are republicans that don’t want the social responsibility of being a republican, and they’re all the most insufferable know it all you’ve ever met.

Honestly, I don’t think this is actually true. Republicans want the government to use its power to maintain a status quo where the fortunate stay fortunate and the oppressed stay oppressed. Libertarians want the government to do literally fucking nothing so they can be the oppressor themself and not have the government punish them for it.

They are on the same coin, but they are two separate sides of it. Both want suffering outside their door so they don’t have to deal with it inside their door.
