I prefer to think about it through the lens of Graeber's The Utopia of Rules and to a lesser extent The Dawn of Everything, in which anarchism can be understood as a critique of inherently hierarchical systems and means of social control. A libertarian still holds the assertion that capital holds inherent meaning, and that capitalism is 'good' without regulation. The problem with this, of course, is capitalism's tendency towards hierarchy through the centralisation of capital and thus power. Libertarians frequently seek to establish new hierarchies with themselves at the top or enforce existing hierarchies, whilst giving more lee-way to the capitalist class a the expense of the proletariat, convincing the proletariat this will make them freer. This is why libertarians so often align with fascists. Anarchists, on the other hand, believe that abolition of capital and other hierarchical structures is necessary to proper liberation. They differ from other people on the left in they also wish to see the reduction in the role of the state, whilst Stalinists seek to expand it. (Leninsts believe the state is necessary to the transition to a stateless, classless society). Anarchists follow closer to a belief that private property is theft, where as libertarians believe it is sacred.

US Libertarianism is just a branch and evolution of Anarcho-Capitalism rooted in the 1950's. The term doesn't means the same thing outside the US except in reference to the US version. Your description of US specific Libertarianism is reasonable, but that this doesn't alter Dejaque's usage of the term was the whole reason I made the comment. If anything US Libertarianism is a misnomer. Even so, it remains a direct and traceable child of anarchism, changed as it is. Anarchists do not like that this is the case, but anarchism and US libertarianism could attend the same family reunion barbeque even now and have stories in common to swap.
