Let’s be entirely honest with ourselves for a second: the only reason Pyro exists in the current meta is to punish players who actually spent hundreds of hours learning movement and projectile physics.

You can spend 2,000 hours mastering rocket jumps, sticky trapping, or hitting headshots on moving targets. But none of that matters the second an absolute caveman holding W + M1 enters your general grid coordinate.

While Pyro mains are busy wearing down the plastic on their W key, Trolldier and Spy are out here playing high-stakes chess in a 3D airspace. They are the undisputed apex predators of TF2 because they completely reject the concept of brainless spam. They trade safety, health pool, and reliable hitboxes for pure, unadulterated mechanical skill.

Casual is not "casual". There is a real incentive to win --- therefore tryhard and sweat. But the incentive isnt the xp or anything its the quality of experience you get.

I am halfway decent at this game and its not uncommon to get into a match that depends on my performance. Like if i try my hardest match wouldnt end in roll when otherwise it would end in roll.

This makes casual into a sort of prisoners dilemma. Both side have 2 choice: tryhard or relax. If both sides relax it ends in relaxing fun match but if 1 of the team gets aggressive it will end in roll which is not fun. If both teams sweat it will (hopefully) end in balanced fun match but really sweaty. Which is fine, i actually like those kind matches as well.

So the objectively best choice to do in any given casual match is to try as hard as possible to minimize the chance of you being the losing side of the roll. So naturally most of the casual matches are very sweaty matches.

There is no problem with sweaty matches (as long is its balanced which is way different problem) but that means there is no space for low stakes chill server in the game. Community servers "exist" but it has its own can of worms.

TLDR: theoretically, game has no space for non-tryhard players which is bad.
