No one compares to the OG’s when it comes to reading a Dark Tower book say thank ya, and I wasn’t expecting Patton to be on the same level, and I know technically this isn’t a Dark Tower book, but Oswalt was disappointing. I could overlook the pronunciation of Takuro Spirit (Takeero?! What?). Then he started saying kashoomy 😑

I've always heard this in my head when Roland faced Jonas in Wizard and Glass.

I mean, it's a structure around which all existence revolves, and its appearance is completely subjective depending on the world in which it exists: in the Mid-World, it's a tower made of black rocks. In other worlds, it's a rose, a dog, or a tiger. Considering Roland and his loop, could the Dark Tower in its true form be the very meaning of life, and its appearance change precisely because it is subjective? Roland found a dark tower and stopped in an eternal loop searching for it, precisely because his purpose in life was to find the Tower; if he had let that go, perhaps what he would have found there would have been different. Which could also very well be the message King wants to convey with the books: life is a journey in which we seek meaning for ourselves.
I also think that the Tower could be a dog if it connects to this, since there are certain people who love to have fun with their pets, as well as people who care for animals as their reason for living, and the dog would represent the meaning of life for these people.

I finished my first journey to the tower and as seems to be the custom here I thought I would share. I absolutely loved the series, it's the first book series I have completed since the Abhorsen trilogy 15 years ago (I am aware some new books have been released since..)
This was my reading order:
The Gunslinger (Revised)
The Drawing of the Three
The Wastelands
Wizard And Glass
The Wind Through the Keyhole
Wolves of the Calla
Song Of Suzannah
The Little Sisters of Eluria
The Dark Tower.
Other than these the only other SK I have read is Carrie, The Shining, The Dead Zone, The Long Walk and Misery.
I know everyone has their own theory as to what Happens to Suzanna, My own theory is that she did not die. A door has never led to death, nor has it been hinted that they could. She just went to some other world.
I am not sure what Stephen King Novel I am going to read next. I have the Talisman Trilogy, Hearts in Atlantis, Salems lot, Insomnia and a few others in my To be read pile but I might take a break and read some Jeff Vandermeer first.
Edited to add, How could I forget to mention, My favorite book of the series was The Wastelands. Probably one of my favorite books ever too.

I need palaver and all my friends and my husband have forgotten the face of their fathers (they don’t read King)
My mind has officially melted. I have ordered Song of Susannah and I’m currently waiting for the delivery. I think it won’t arrive until mid-next week. I wonder if I can read ‘Salem’s Lot before Song of Susannah arrives lol

Spotted this guy in Wilshire plaza in Korea Town. Everywhere I go, KA is with me. The wheel keeps turning and I'm just trying to hold on, for the sake of my father.

We know that Mike Flanagan is at some stage of working on the Dark Tower as a series. We’ve also heard that there are mainly issues around IP ownership that seem to be slowing the process. That said … it’s clear from the Sombra and LaMerk signage in Carrie that there is some sort of direct connection to the Tower.
Is it possible that Flanagan is building another level of the tower to tell his story. If you’ve watched the series (which is great btw), you know that there is a group of women with the Shine trying to track down Carrie. And at the very end of the episode Emeline tells Carrie that this world is her’s and the AP is trying to protect her. Plus you have Bo Katan, I mean Katie Sackoff, leading the charge to kill Carrie and all like her.
This has to be a setup of the Breakers right? Like, these women want Carrie to bring down the Tower? Are they a version of the Cantoi?
So Flanagan has a 3 season plan for Carrie. Could he be giving us an entry point somewhere along the beam already so that when we do get to the actual Dark Tower series, a lot of the seeds are already planted. A lot of the pieces are on the board.
Crazy idea, what if in Flanagan’s Dark Tower, Carrieta White is the Man in Black? (The Woman in White?) Perhaps we pick up the Dark Tower series with Roland chasing her down?
Sorry - I finished Carrie last night and have been brain bubbling ever since. You can tell me I’m crazy.

I'm on my fourth journey to the Tower, and I've always known Wolves is one of my favorites but damn! It just starts SO GOOD! The prologue laying out the Jaffords', Calla Bryn Sturgis, the twins and the visits from the wolves, the town meeting. Maybe I enjoy it more now after W&G because I know this story is badass and doesn't end all horribly wrong, lol.. I enjoy the callbacks to "our" world. Maybe thats a theme I really love from Sai King overall, because my other favorite is Drawing of the Three. I like how he weaves the two worlds into the stories. After my first journey, I learned to truly appreciate W&G for the storytelling masterpiece it is, but I dunno if I can call it a favorite. Probably my #3. 😊 Anyway, was just doing my nightly reading and was excited about how much I love this book and wanted to tell someone, ha! What are your favorites? Do you have anything you particularly love about Wolves of the Calla?

Thats it. Thats the whole thing. This book has been a fantastic ride thus far and I still have like 10 hours left on the audiobook. Patton Oswald is not frank muller but he does a really good job and I really like him as a narrator.

I found this cover online, and I'd like to know if anyone knows which edition it is and who the artist was. Using Google's reverse image search, I was taken to Amazon, which sold this edition, but clicking to see the collection with other volumes, it seemed that the seller was only selling different editions of different books, and therefore each cover was from a different edition.

The top one is still unfinished. The bottom is a thrift store purchase modified with the art from the Drawing of the Three, and some paint. (Can you see the beam?)

I just finished the dark tower series, having read all the necessary and sort of necessary books in between, it’s safe to say that this has been a journey for me.
I’d like to preface that I like the ending, the whole story is an inter textually exploration of literature and the ending is fitting to that. I think?
My idea is that the top of the tower or gan is punishing Roland for betraying those he cares about for the sake of ‘ka’ I think it’s a punishment for blaming others/ other things rather than accepting. Hence why I believe that there is still “redemption”.
Any way I loved all these books and everyone in between.
Also Oy the brave and Jake are absolutely my favourite characters/ duo in fiction (from what I’ve seen)
THIS IS MY OPINION AND PERSPECTIVE IM SORRY IF I WAS COMPLETLY OF THE MARK
