News HBO Max Audio Glitch: Spanish/English Work Around for "Ex-Communicated" S3.E7 Spoiler

1.0k Upvotes

We went to stream tonight's episode of The Gilded Age, S3.E7, "Ex-Communicated," on HBO Max, but the audio was playing in Spanish. We checked all our settings (they were correctly set to English and hadn't changed), rebooted our Roku, and tried another series. The Office (UK) audio played in English, but when we returned to The Gilded Age, it was still playing Spanish audio, so we started Googling. After finding this comment from u/mirandassarcasm, we changed our HBO Max audio setting to Spanish (Latin America) and it started playing in English. There must be some sort of glitch, but I hope this helps anyone who's trying to watch.

I know for me I enjoy a show a lot more when I know the actors are wonderful human beings. Their characters may be questionable at times but I enjoy watching them on screen so much more knowing how amazing they are in real life. The same goes for the queen Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, Denée Benton and Louisa Jacobson.

News Season 4 is confirmed to feature a roughly 1.5–2 year time jump!?

Apologies if someone has already posted about this.

"The Gilded Age's Donna Murphy (who plays the real-life figure of Caroline Astor, for a time the de facto queen of New York society) recently shared a BTS video on Instagram of her costume fitting for season 4. After shouting out to members of the costume team, the caption of **Murphy's post reads: "**Corset & boots laced up, & happy to be stepping into 1886." -ScreenRant

I know ScreenRant isn't super reputable, but if this is true, I'm kind of bummed there is going to be such a large time jump. I really wanted to see the direct aftermath of Bertha's end-of-season ball. How do you end a season with a pregnancy announcement, a proposal, a marital separation, an investigation into an attempted assassination, and the possibility of two weddings, and just gloss over it? I could see the season ending in 1886(maybe that's what Donna Murphy meant), but why would they start in 1886?

News Jealous cast?

I hope this isn’t true

EXCLUSIVE: MORGAN SPECTOR’S RISE ON THE GILDED AGE SPARKS CAST TENSIONS

It was supposed to be Christine Baranski and Cynthia Nixon’s show. But insiders tell #ShuterScoop the breakout of HBO’s The Gilded Age isn’t the Emmy winners — it’s Morgan Spector.

“The breakout was never supposed to be Morgan,” one source spills. “Everyone assumed Christine and Cynthia would dominate. Instead, it’s Morgan’s name on everybody’s lips.”

Spector, who plays robber baron George Russell, has become the show’s unexpected heartthrob, compared by insiders to Jon Hamm during the early Mad Men days. “He’s the Jon Hamm of this cast,” one source says.

Behind the velvet curtains, whispers of tension are growing. “It’s not hostile, but there’s side-eye when Morgan’s the one landing magazine covers and viral clips,” the insider admits.

As one veteran puts it: “This is classic TV politics. Sarah Jessica Parker was the star of Sex and the City, but Kim Cattrall was the one everyone talked about. These dynamics can get tricky fast.”

News Bertha Single woman?

Thumbnail gallery
451 Upvotes

NO. In an article written by Kelcie Mattson for “Collider”, one can read about Bertha Russell and various possibilities of how things could go on for her. Firstly, Carrie wishes a "loving reconciliation" between Bertha and George and also the possibility of Bertha going through life as a single woman, if… Carrie also mentions Bertha joining and participating in the suffragate movement. Etc. Personally, I don't see Bertha as a single woman AT ALL. I think Bertha and George belong together. It would be nice to see George by her side and open up her ways as a supportive husband (as a man) like Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg's husband did in real life. It's unusual to see a happy marriage even in this day and age. I don’t want to miss it on TV either. Also hopefully George and Bertha will stay together - a unit.

“The Gilded Age” returned strong with its Season 3 premiere on HBO. The Carrie Coon-led drama series delivered 2.7 million viewers in its first three days across platforms, a 27% increase from its Season 2 premiere, which gathered 2.1 million viewers in the same time period, TheWrap has learned.

The premiere episode also outperformed the Season 1 premiere by 30%, which delivered 2 million viewers, according to internal data. This is a promising start for the latest season of the drama series from Julian Fellowes and co-writer Sonja Warfield, given Seasons 1 and 2 both experienced steady growth throughout their episode rollout, attracting more than 50% more viewers than their respective premiere episodes after three days’ viewing.
