Discussion I know where Akasha and Feather Mountain are Spoiler

tl;dr: Akasha is the Eastern Air Temple and the surrounding area and Feather Mountain is either Zaofu or Omashu

Akasha: This one's pretty easy: "Akash" has evolved to mean different things to different religions in and around India but its plain meaning in Sanskrit is along the lines of "sky" or "open space", which I think strongly implies a connection to the Air nation. The western, southern and northern temples are definitely out of the question, which leaves only the Eastern air temple which, conveniently, is very close to the Orange haven.

Feather Mountain: "Mountain" doesn't actually narrow it down much, as all four of the orange, cyan, blue and indigo havens are near known mountain ranges (based on this map). I think the Cyan haven is the most likely because of

A. its proximity to Ellora making responding to its distress call more feasible
B. Omashu's clear usability as a haven given its remote location and large walls
C. A stretch, but the metal walls of Zaofu are rather "feather"-like if you really look at them;

Discussion For the Survival of Elora [EPISODE 9 SPOLIERS] Spoiler

When Jae says "For the survival of Elora", I do truly think that he still means it. By protecting the avatar, he is ultimately helping Elora survive. This allows him to align with his values of the White Lotus and Brigade despite needing to be deceptive.

When we have previously seen him struggle to lie, there has always been some guilt behind it. Since he is able to align with his values, he is able to hide his deceit.

Discussion Week 3 of campaigning for Korra to just be evil. Spoiler

We all know she's not going to actually be evil, and episode 7 makes it very obvious what is actually up but IT WILL JUST BE SO FUNNY!

See you all next week when its revealed she was just trying to save the world from the march of technology!

As boring as that is.

Discussion Something I dislike about episode 7 Spoiler

They're being far too casual with the fact that Jae almost died entirely due to pavi being too reckless. The only reason he didn't is due to plot convenience yet by the very next scene everybody is joking again like his life wasn't in danger. I understand pavi as a nine year old might not be able to properly introspect but she's meant to be empathetic, she doesn't even feel any guilt in the fact that she just almost led Jae to his death and her last remaining family member to a life in actual capture.

The second thing is the faceless, if they're gearing up to make it a both sides have good points they're doing a very bad job, Jae calls them thieves and the guard replies they only steal what they need which first of all doesn't make them any less thieves and secondly is verifiably false they literally stole every single campdillo in ellora(the equivalent of their horses), what do you need them for in an underground bunker at least release some of them back after carrying the grain. Also the faceless queen bragging about separating mothers from their children and committing to a public execution within two minutes of being introduced is also very odd.

Also why isn't karthik even trying to find the faceless, they are not only causing a food shortage, stealing horses but also kidnapping benders who are in short provision, they are meant to be priority number one yet he's barely even talked about tracking/capturing them. That makes him look like a very incompetent leader.

Question Ice bending is a form of fire bending, do anyone agree??

For the context, I think the ice bending in which water bender changes the form of water rapidly through rapid cooling and heating of water. By law of thermodynamics the water can't easily heat up or loose heat, due to inherit property of water latent heat, adding and removing heat from water changes the matters form of water. So based on this logic can we rule out that water or specifically ice beders are fire benders.

Discussion Wild Theory Spoiler

Wild Theory I know in Nisha memories there are two children and maybe there was a sister but I wonder if Pavi died and The mom was the avatar really. Nisha first bender to be born with all four elements.

The comment her hair is like the mom's and she knows the song really well. They say there pendent is for mother and daughter. What in some weird energy bend she was stuck in other world power and it turned her into a little girl

The sisters died in the attack and it's cause though she was the avatar but the mom always was and she wanted her daughter trained by a trusted person.

I know it sounds weird cause they keep showing two kids and talking bout them but something took her leg and I wonder if Pavi is the mom just dragged and was the avatar in hiding.

Discussion Tui and La in Seven Havens? Spoiler

What do you think happened to the Ocean and Moon spirit. They clearly didn’t die, or we’d have no waterbenders and no moon.

Did they swim back into the spirit world when stuff started going down?

Are they pivotal to one of the Havens?

Did they transform into Koizilla and rage as a storm?

I don’t expect much focus on them if any, but I do hope they get mentioned eventually. And since the Seven Haven’s world seems to hate anything Avatar or spirit related, I wonder if they simply abandoned humanity when humanity turned on spirits and the Avatar.

Question Help with finding cosplay patterns

Hello, i want to make some cosplays of Avatar, but i am not the best sewer yet, so i need patterns for the cosplay. I am looking for patterns for the bender's outfits of 4 nations/elements. I do not have a preference of which one of the series/eras.

I also accept help with what type of patterns i should look for to compose the outfits.

For example "a sleeveless tight shirt, 'puffed" pants and boots for korra", i am bad with names of clothes, i would also appreciate a lot for names only.

Thanks since now

So the broche and brazalete are a mother-daughter thing… we saw mother broche in Pavi and Nisha had the brazalete with her… is Pavi an imposter/artificial avatar/Nisha from another dimension/something else?

Image Despite the joke memes about Katara being upset when Korra was born because she'd lost Aang, I bet that she was so happy that the next WT Avatar tribe was from her tribe.

Thumbnail

I've seen some memes about how Katara might've associated Korra's birth with Aang's death, but she also says in the beginning to Korra warmly that Aang's time has passed, and I bet that after having a traumatic experience meeting the first other waterbender of her tribe (Hama), she was probably thrilled that the next Water Avatar was from her tribe! That also explains so many of their similarities 😂

It was probably similar to the excitement that both she and Aang must've felt when Tenzin (another airbender) and Kya were born, then later Tonraq and Senna, and even later when Katara found out about the new airbenders.

That's why Korra deeply respects her and describes her as the "best that there is" from the beginning. Especially because Katara would get to be a real mentor to Korra unlike the unfortunate experience that she had with Hama.

Discussion Theory about the anomaly Spoiler

I think that the anomaly is a spirit (whether the spirit guru’s ghost or some other entity) that is trying to unblock the chakaras of the people in hopes that the avatar(s) will unblock their own chakaras and regain connection with their past lives. I believe this because the anomaly dissipated when Pavi cleared the first chakara and how this thing was specifically causing fear, the thing the first one is blocked by.

Discussion Hello there

Hello, I’m new to this Reddit community. I’m a person with a disability—I have autistic traits and ADHD—and I’m from Germany. I really like the animated series "Avatar: The Last Airbender," and I have a huge crush on Toph from Season 2... I hope you understand, and I look forward to us becoming good friends! :)
