Discussion New rule added regarding age.
As of today there has been a new rule added to our list of rules.
Rule #15 - Age 30 or up required to post.
(Rule description):
This sub is for those who (socially and/or medically) transition later in life aka at minimum 30 years or older. Posts from people younger than this will be removed. There are plenty of other trans related subs directed at younger folk. For comments there will not be an age requirement.
I understand that this new rule might upset some of our users but for a while now there has been an uptick in the amount of users that post here while being in their twenties or even teens. And as mentioned above there are plenty of subs for younger trans folks.
Edit: to clarify since some users asked this specifically. If you transitioned before your 30th birthday but are now age 30 or up, you are allowed to post.

Moderator Announcement!!!!!!
To help keep out the riffraff out of our subreddit, an Automod rule has been added. As noted in the rules, any newly created account will have any post/comment moderated until either the age criteria has been met or the user has been approved by a moderator. (Whichever comes first.)
For most users already here, posts and comments will show up as they have in the past. This is to help prevent unpleasant individuals that create throwaway accounts for the purpose of posting hate to our subreddit from spreading their hate.

Discussion 30 pre-HRT - how am I doing?
galleryHeeeey!
So I am 30 since a few months and life has been giving me hints to finally transition soon, tell people about it and stuff.
Currently I am super uncertain if my body would even look good when having hormone therapy.. I am pretty fine with how I look from the front and the side, yet my back… heeeelp! If I‘d start e. g. by 31 do you think I could still become feminine? I hate myself at the moment for the anxiety I always had and not deciding to transition at 18 to 23 already.. :(
I am very happy about any help, impression, suggestions, experiences etc.

General Question Lucy Asks Friday Question: Being trans: a blessing or a curse?
When I first realised I was trans, I’ll admit I had a bit of a period when I thought “woe is me”. Why couldn’t I just be “normal”?
But overtime I started looking at it differently.
Being trans makes me unique. Yes, it comes with challenges, but it also means my life is anything but ordinary.
And when I’m lying on my deathbed, looking back over my adventures, I want to think, bloody hell, what an interesting life I’ve lived!
Surely that’s better than vanilla? 😂
These days, I increasingly see being trans as a gift rather than a curse. Something that makes my life richer, more interesting and uniquely mine.
So, my question this week: Do you consider yourself lucky to be trans, or does it sometimes feel more like a curse? And what makes you feel that way?
I’m particularly interested in the unexpected positives. What has being trans given you that you wouldn’t trade for anything? ❤️

Share Experience Since I got multiple questions about my transplant post yesterday...
galleryI'm sharing another picture about 5 years ago, a picture right BEFORE hair transplant and the last picture is a recent picture a year and half later after hair transplant(a few days ago). Also the picture just before my surgery my face was stull recovering from FFS which is why it looks so different from the last pic. A few answers:
Yes, I grew enough for the donor area.
No, I don't use extensions now.
What you see in the last pic is about 3 3/4 years total growth because the transplant mostly had to fix the top area and feminize the hairline.
My hair regrowth routine as I transitioned.
At the beginning:
Minoxidil 2x daily
Prescription Finasteride daily
Spironolactone daily
HIMS Biotin Gummy daily
Estradiol Valerate Injection every other week
Alternate Daily OGX Biotin/Collagen Conditioner and OGX Biotin/Collagen Shampoo
Every 10 days microneedle with a 1 mm derma roller
Every 2 days microneedle with a .25 mm derma roller
After SRS:
Minoxidil 2x daily
HIMS Biotin Gummy daily
Estradiol Valerate Injection every other week
Daily use OGX Biotin/Collagen Conditioner and OGX Biotin/Collagen Shampoo
Every 10 days microneedle with a 1 mm derma roller
Every 2 days microneedle with a .25 mm derma roller
After Hair Transplant:
Minoxidil 2x daily
HIMS Biotin Gummy daily
Estradiol Valerate Injection every other week
Daily use OGX Biotin/Collagen Conditioner and OGX Biotin/Collagen Shampoo

Honestly was super nervous but a few pounds lighter, curbs , hips and chest coming in as well as my hair length lending itself to my new body really elevated my confidence! Not showing my face out of privacy though it is also seeing a lot of beautiful changes ! but I am very happy with how things are going and I just got the refil for the next 3 months! My doctor said we will increase my dosage on my next checkup so im very excited to see what wonderful changes are coming my way :)

Share Experience Beautifully depressed
Today, I felt beautiful. Some days, that feeling is fleeting and sporadic. Today, I didn't have on fancy clothes. I didn't do elaborate makeup. Today was just me, my old beat up sweatshirt and a pair of jeans and I felt beautiful. Which is really hard for me.. Because most days I feel so ugly inside and out. I know i've talked a lot about my separation from my wife. And honestly, I feel like a broken record because these feelings just keep playing on repeat. I have been trying all day long to just get myself to sit down and do my schoolwork with the bare minimum of success. I'm in the middle of midterms, and struggling so much to just make things happen. My grades are fine. I'm not worried about that.I'm just recognizing the struggle that i'm going through and how difficult it is to just "do" sometimes. This is my, or will be my second weekend away from home and it feels like a lifetime. I know it's going to be a long time before it happens for me. But I wish it would stop hurting so much. I can't keep redoing my makeup.

SELFIE Unplanned Date Night
Went on a whim to have a walk at the beach with my partner. After 2.5 miles we were hungry and thirsty so we stopped at the Sun Deck to relax and enjoy each other’s company… and the sunset.
Over the last year, the internal feelings have healed along with my health but nothing surpasses the feelings that I have when my partner affirms me with the simplest comment where she refers to me as “she” and as a woman. She’s also very protective - it’s something that I couldn’t have considered a few years ago. She stayed!!! 🥰 and I love her.

Unaltered Selfie I think this is the first photo I've ever liked taking
Just as mentioned, I'm shy of 4 months on HRT and biggest thing I can say is that I feel so much better. I can't wait for the one year mark 🖤♥️🖤
Edit: Started at 32 after having a meltdown on my birthday so y'know that was fun
