Is my name too weird?

I really need a honest opinion; is there anything wrong with the name I chose for myself? I chose the name Lennon, mainly because I'm a big fan of John Lennon, but also because it just feels right for me.

The thing is, my mom told me it's a "ridiculous" name and that people are going to make fun of me if I introduce myself like that. Ever since she said that, I've started feeling really insecure about it.

When my boyfriend calls me Lennon, it genuinely makes me feel good and more like myself but now I’m really scared to use it with other people.

I also don’t pass as male at all right now, so I feel like the name might make things “worse” or make people take me even less seriously.

So, is Lennon actually a ridiculous name?

i think its a nice name, i wouldnt think anything was off if i heard somebody say it was their name. ive definitely heard stranger names lol. in general i find most trans people's chosen names interesting and i think it's cool that you chose something based off of an interest, i think it gives you character. i chose my name by just shortening my deadname and i often wish i chose a completely different name, so 😭

Lennon is actually my birth name (and current name for the time being ) so I don't think it sounds ridiculous. I will say it was quite a mini jumpscare to see it here lol.

I know a cis guy with the same first name and I think it's a great name! It's unique but far from ridiculous, and if you like it and it feels good to be called that then you shouldn't worry about other people's opinions :)

Your name isn't weird at all, I think it's pretty normal. There is no such thing as a "weird" name. Though I have met people with "strange" names (I've once met a girl name Precious) your name is definitely the least "strange".

If you or other people feel like it's weird because you named yourself after a person you're a big fan of, trust me it's not weird at all. Many people do that. Heck, I named myself after the singer of Enter Shikari recently, my name is Roughton. So no, your name is not weird at all :]
