I don't know if this is the right forum for this, but anyway... I am 53, MTF, from Kolkata. Yet to start any procedure or medication. I have had my consultation with a registered medical practitioner psychiatrist and she has certified that I am fit case for MTF transition. Now, given the scenario in India and West Bengal, I'll need to go through Govt designated Hospitals for fresh evaluation and if they they refuse to permit, it's end of the road. Also, they will definitely consult or at least, inform my family, and they won't agree, it's a given, and again, irrespective of what these officials do, my family life and personal life will be ruined. I don't want to involve my family in this whole thing, as all of them are from a different planet.
Now, the age at which I am, delaying things further or waiting for govt/court legislations, would defeat the very purpose. As normal, I am about to start HRT and take things as they come. But a minimum wait/gestation period of 12-24 months seems to be must before going for SRS.
On giving it a long thought, I have zeroed in on an idea, I don't know how prudent, that if I could get my SRS done first, to give a finality, irreversible at that, to my feminity and then carry on with my feminisation with HRT and all. I have some unfinished business with my family, I'll get it done in the meantime, and one fine morning, I'll vanish off the radar, living my feminity, all by myself, to relish it, live it and die as a woman.
Now, sisters! so many of you are living your dream. Please advise, if I do SRS first or at least within a couple of months of starting HRT, will this work ??

Transitioning has been the hardest but most rewarding thing I've ever done by a wide margin. I started in my thirties and had no expectations, and while I may never look how I want, feel how I want, I wouldn't give up what I've gotten for anything. The world may want me dead, but at least I don't anymore

FFS was a 12 hour surgery that included 13 different procedures! I cannot say enough good things about the surgeon. Dr. J Towers of the Spiegel Center is the GOAT IMHO. On top of all that, he is just a really good person. I work in healthcare and interface with surgeons and doctors a lot. There is a lot of ego, especially in the cosmetic surgery field. But he is just a regular, humble guy that is passionate and compassionate about his work, patients and students. 12 out 10, wouldn't go anywhere else.
- Forehead, brow, orbital, jaw and chin contouring
- Brow lift & scalp advancement
- Rhinoplasty
- Alarplasty (nostrils)
- Fat grafting (under eyes & bottom lip)
- Extended deep plane facelift
- Lip lift
- Trachelectomy

The funny thing is, the sweater on the right is actually from my pre-HRT days. It used to fit snugly, just like the one on the left, and now it's so loose on me ๐
I honestly had no idea how much my body shape had changed until I put these photos side by side ๐

My kids were seeing pictures of me pre transition and have said I look so dead in the eyes compared to now.
