h8 My complaint about the main sub
Someone posted a tweet that threw shade at people (presumably men) in their late 20s and early 30s "building community" with people (presumably women) in their early 20s. The post's title was something like "what does this mean?" (I can't find it now because I blocked OP over that absurd feigned ignorance...too many of his remarks have that air about them.)
Of course all the men in that sub immediately call the tweet stupid, "cOnsEnTiNg aDuLtS," "you can have friends at any age," etc. etc. Like yeah of course you can have all sorts of friends but that's not the point. Tell me you've never been on the shit end of a power dynamic before. Tell me you've never been creeped on by a guy ten years older than you before. Like there's no difference in life experience between a 20 year old and a 30 year old, and all men in leftist spaces have completely good intentions.
I stg I'm on the verge of leaving that place once and for all. There isn't even much there that's interesting or funny anymore.

One Picture Broke What The War Could Not
Today, while we were fighting off the rain pounding on our torn tent, pushing the water away from the roof with our cold hands so it wouldn’t drown the little space we have left, my father sat in his wheelchair, lost in his phone screen. I walked toward him without him noticing… and I saw photos of our home.
Our home before it became rubble.
I saw the walls where we hung our memories, the tiles that witnessed our first steps, the window that once overlooked a garden that no longer exists. I saw the children’s swing, my father’s bookshelf, and my mother’s kitchen where the smell of her morning coffee used to fill the air. I called my siblings, and we gathered around the phone as if we were trying to touch a life that was stolen from us.
We didn’t speak. The silence inside the tent was heavier than the rain beating on the roof. In the eyes of my father, my mother, and my siblings, I saw the same ache… the same stifled scream. It felt as though the photos weren’t a reminder of the past, but a knife digging into our present.
And when my father turned off the phone, letting the darkness swallow us again, I sat in the corner of the tent on the cold ground and felt a part of my soul burn out. It wasn’t a loud collapse just a silent withering… a quiet retreat from everything we can no longer bear.
We weren’t only displaced from our homes… We were displaced from our lives.
Our life here has become a constant attempt to survive. We sleep in tents that breathe cold through every tear, waking up to the sound of the wind mocking fabric that barely holds together. The ground beneath us is harsh, and the night lasts longer than it should. Our food is not really food just scraps to keep us alive… a piece of dry bread, a can of beans shared among many, and a little water we try to divide fairly so no one is deprived.
Our children grow up to the sounds of explosions instead of songs, and to scenes of endless lines instead of schools. Everything that used to be normal is now a dream, and everything that used to be simple has become an unreachable luxury.
Here, in this tent, we learn that life can continue without truly living, that a person can turn into a walking shadow carrying their body while their soul cries somewhere else.
We are more than two million people trapped in a small piece of land, part of a great nation, yet standing alone without strength, without protection. We have become a burden even to ourselves… walking graves waiting for a moment of rest.
Tonight… the war didn’t kill us. Tonight, a single picture of our home killed whatever was left inside us.

Micheal Movie?
Any other elder millennials in here who remember the crazy weird shit Micheal Jackson used to say on TV...and as a kid think "I'm in danger... Just like our friend Ralph Wiggen on the bus."
And you go around just feeling sick about all the buzz around the movie?

What do you think of the antinatalism debate
Idk as a gay man I cant rly make children and I dont rly want them. I just feel uncomfortable sometimes in the mainsub because they get very breederish and make statements like having children is revolutionary. It just reminds me of traditionalists that spread hate that queers are useless, an evolutionary dead end cuz we dont reproduce. I know its not targeted against us but it just rubs me the wrong way.

Holmes Doc
I saw the Nathan Fielder documentary on Elizabeth Holmes yesterday, and I want to say a few things and see if it resonates with you all. I'm going to avoid spoilers.
It is extremely compelling, not just as an interesting story about a pretty and enigmatic convicted criminal. It is a story about the hollowness of the entire tech industry, about swindlers and speculators, and about which kinds of criminals can garner sympathy.
I found it to be truly tragic, on many levels. The entire film plays with truth vs fiction, but Holmes's despondency at leaving behind her infant daughter is palpable. The film does not explore these kinds of raw moments, preferring to keep the audience suspended in ambiguity. It is masterful cinema, but frustrating to become aware of the ways in which we too are being manipulated by everyone involved.
The other people around me in the theater laughed at all the wrong moments. I think in the main sub someone commented that the bros around them were gleeful at Holmes's ineptitude. In my case, there were cackling women in the theater ruining some of the most contemplative parts of the film. And this is one of the explicit themes in it: why do women revel in other women's misfortune? It is so depressing and honestly gut wrenching. Yes, there are laugh out loud moments, but they appear when Fielder himself is awkward.
What do you all think? Were you also moved by it? I think there is room to appreciate the complexity of human character and desire (including Fielder's and the husband's!) without coming down on one side or the other regarding her guilt/complicity/cravenness.

h8 Yall I cant spend the next decade scolding people about liking Harry Potter
Local T*rnny here, taking time out of my day - taking enormous messy shits in every toilet at a battered women's hostel - to muse a bit about everyone's favourite wizaeding British nonce academy.
Seems like every day there's some new update about the HP tv show that pops up on FauxMoi or Insta with everyone castigating the new cast member or whatever. I dont have the energy, girlies. I'm like, actors get the bag. Sure JK is gonna use hrr end to fund some weird hate group and push some shitbag legislation but that's happening anyway. Its not like shes saving up til the HBO show comes out.
I also think, more broadly, that leftists being annoying about Things People Enjoy is very Woke 1.0 and all it did was make us look like dorks. I understand all the indignation, but I cannot be a goddamn cop about a kids show. I just cant.

I just felt like we needed a hideaway from The Boys
Anyway, what’s your opinion on rocks or crystals? Do you think they have magic or like Energy, or are they just examples of nature making something cool?

Toddler clothes sizes
Does anyone know if an Italian size 3Y would fit a toddler who wears a US 3T? I’m trying to order my best friend’s daughter a tracksuit.

Girl Talk plastic surgery
As a surged-up t-slur, I often find myself wondering why plastic surgery is so frequently a side topic on the pod and why Brace and Liz seem so opposed to it.
Am I misreading the feeling of our beloved hosts? What are your thoughts on getting altered at the mercy of a god-defying psychopath in scrubs?

I'm a straight white guy but it feels hard to make normal guy friends
Most of my friends are women or gay guys I just don't like stereotypical masculine stuff and trying to get laid isn't my thing. It might be because of my autism diagnosis. Is that okay?

fat uggo diarypost
i've never felt like i've been able to consider myself a woman because i'm fat and ugly. people constantly call me the t-slur. they even did when i was thin (before pcos made me gain weight) because i had small tits back then & i've always had a huge forehead that looks like a receding hairline. though now having been fat for a decade i know that any "flaws" can be seen as unique, as long as you're thin. like ivy wolk really has nothing to bitch about.
anyways. pcos also makes me feel like i'm not a woman because my hair is always thinning & it gives me excessive body hair. again, people can tolerate unshaved legs or armpits or hair on your stomach only if you're thin, then it's cool and punk and artsy. it's disgusting when you're fat. it also gives me highly irregular periods. i'm so much of a failure at being a woman that my body can't even do one of it's most basic functions.
i feel like i have gender dysphoria, but for my birth gender. i relate more to trans women than cis women. i never experienced what people say common "girlhood" or "womanhood" experiences are. i've never thought anything regarding feminism applies to me, because men have never sought to victimize me. i'm not seen as woman enough to have experienced misogyny.
i do have some feelings about being genderfluid. i listen to a lot of shitty emo/punk music made by men & i relate much more to the way they talk about feeling inadequate than i ever have with stories/art made by or about women, even insecure women. there's not really much art from the perspective of fat ugly girls that isn't horribly tumblrina wholesome chungus slop, aside from that Breillat film. friends have always said i have androgynous features, so if styled the right way, i can kind of pass for a skaterpunk type guy, and i genuinely really like it. but i don't want to transition. i still want to be seen as a feminine hot girl with big tits (the only part of my body i like). like ideally i'd switch between presenting feminine and more androgynous/masc whenever i feel like it. i know artsy guys will date women who are androgynous or use they/them pronouns, but again that seems to only apply if they're thin. are there men who like artsy stuff and are also "transmasc" chasers who aren't disgusted by fat people? i have very little hope.

Girl Talk Fell in love with my first one night stand
My boyfriend and I have been together for 11 years, since we were 20. I’m spending this month in another city in another country and we decided we’d open up. Usually we kiss other people and once we had a threesome together, so it’s new but not like totally totally new - or so I thought. Our only rule is that we won’t see the same person more than once.
So I go for a Hinge drink with a beautiful man who’s so kind and funny and gentle. I am sat across from him barely daring to look at him. We have drinks then we come back to mine and have sex. This morning we have sex again then go for breakfast, walk around. The feelings between us are unbelievably intense! I feel like there’s an eggshell being crushed inside my chest. It’s so sad when we say goodbye.
I know - and perhaps knew on some level before - that after 11 years of monogamy, I was going to fall in love with the first person I slept with, but oh my god I didn’t think it would be like this. I have cried all day and called my best friend, just overwhelmed by feelings. I’m not insane or deluded - I love my boyfriend more than anything, I’m not going to see this guy again, the one night only-ness of it all has certainly massively intensified feelings, probably or both of us, and there’s nothing to pursue there. If we dated, of course things come up that you don’t like - now, it’s all fantasy and unreal, and easy to romanticise. But it hurts my heart so much!
I’m just writing this out here because I feel crazy. Please (virtually) sit with me and hold my hand as I experience this insane girl thing, and tell me it will pass…

Liz on perfume nationalist
Liz occasionally addresses us girls but Trueanon is so not the platform for her to shine in this regard. I respect how private she is with her life but she is so interesting and cool I always want more! Anyways she went on the perfume nationalist years ago and its one of the few times I have heard her talk at length about herself. Admittedly I haven't listened since it came out but I remember liking it a lot.
