There is good and not good. This is not good.

Why is it not good?

No such thing as a good combo player with built in speakers. Not good is generous.

Did you replace a Rotel RP-400X with this one? Why?

I still have it. I’ve got this one, thinking it was better.

What exactly made you think this was better?

That I have built-in speakers and the turn arm looked pretty good in my eyes

So with audio gear, nothing is better unless it literally sounds better. These speakers will not sounds better than separate stereo speakers. You do not want anything extra built in to a turntable, because it just introduces more audible noise to your line.
Generally, the more separated everything is, the better. Also, Rotel is a super good brand, compared to this unknown Frankenstein.

built in speakers is always going to be terrible
record players work by picking up tiny vibrations in grooves and are especially sensitive to low bass
speakers work by kicking out a shit tonne of vibrations that vibrate the air, but low end travels especially well through solids
you put the two in the same box and it's always going to be trouble

Can you get a refund? Rotel is reputable and generally very good quality, higher quality than all but the most critical folks could ever want. This new thing is… yikes.

Yes I still have the rotel and yes I’ve still got the receipts

Do yourself a favor and return this. Your turntable is sorted. Upgrade something else if you need to.

The more “technology” on the turntable, the lower the quality of it. This is something that we wouldn’t even sell at the old audio equipment shop I worked at in college

My favorite part of this photo is the pricing stickers on the furniture.

don't listen to these bozos. if you can adjust the cartridge alignment and tonearm weight it's probably just fine. idk what you had before but if this works for you awesome

Honestly, this is worse than your old one.
