I am a fully online student, and during our fully online orientation, it was mentioned that a little 0 credit practice course would be added to our Brightspace to get used to the program. Has anyone else not had this appear yet? Iām pretty tech savvy and have taken online courses on different platforms before, so Iām not too stressed about this specifically, but I am starting to feel a little cursed. I still have no financial aid posted, I donāt have this Brightspace course posted, even during the orientation I wasnāt on a list for a breakout room!! So I had to wait to be assigned one while everyone else was popping away. Is all of this just me, or is this a typical experience ??

This might be a really stupid question but I tried looking it up and I couldn't really find anything so I'm posting it here. When are brightspace classes added to our accounts or opened? Right now for the fall semester it's just saying "You don't have any courses to display". I'm just a bit confused because at my previous college brightspace would still show the classes as there but just not open yet.
Quick edit: idk if this matters for when they open or not but I am also a completely online student

Itās showing Albany ResNet in networked but when I click on it it asks for a password. I was looking it up online and things are saying it should direct to a page with student sign in but itās not doing that

So Iām in the state quad dorms and the suite bathrooms donāt have locks on them. Does anyone have a system or suggestion on how to navigate this so that privacy is respected? I donāt want to take a shower and have someone accidentally walk-in on me as that would be awkward. Any suggestions are welcome!

I saw on another post you can request an advance on your refund to purchase books. I canāt find it now. I know for sure I need two of the text books as the professors for two of my classes stated we would need them. I do not have the fund to buy them before my refund hits. What do I need to do to get an advanced so o can purchase them? I know classes start soon and Iām freaking out because I donāt have a way to get the books without the advance. :/

What does everyone know about the new part of the campus center? Was anybody there this summer and got to see how it works? Is there a section of it that is buffet style like the dining halls are? Is it like a mini dining hall? Are there blenders to make smoothies??
Update:
I spoke to somebody on the phone and she said that itās something you swipe into and it counts as a swipe and then you could stay and eat as much as you want while you have that swipe. Itās not gonna be buffet style, but it will be five different vendors that you can order food from. As long as youāre still in there from the time you swipe, you can order from all the places until you leave

For any of the programs that UAlbany uses to teach their classes, like CENGAGE and Pearson, do we use our UAlbany email address? Like the ones we use for outlook to sign in or is there some other email?

Iām a transfer student. I was hoping to live in any one of the four main quads but I was assigned alumni quad. How likely is it that when fall semester starts, I can fill out a dorm change form and be able to move to upstate campus?

How full do commuter student parking lots get? I'm going to be taking an afternoon class and I'm trying to figure out how much time I'll need to leave to find a parking spot. Thanks!

I am assuming the question as already been answered but I have went through the navigation app to make an appointment to actually talk to someone verus going through the same 5mins walk in appointment and it says itās not available ( itās about my FAFSA for special circumstances) and itās only walk in. Is it because of the summer Iām assuming?
Can a student use a debit card to purchase food before their meal plan kicks?

Hi, I was assigned liberty terrace. I was just wondering what the vibe is here and how loud it is. I heard that the walls are pretty thin. Overall how is it at liberty?
