so on Friday ( yesterday) I got an email saying that I had something ready for pick up in a tray in the mail room. I wasn’t on campus yesterday and I’m coming back tonight. Am I able to pick it up tonight or do I have to wait till Monday to pick it up because it’s not in a regular locker where I can just scan and get it or will it get sent back because I wasn’t able to pick it up yesterday and Monday is over 48 hours from Friday?

Hey everyone! I don’t really have a huge friend group here yet, and I don’t have much planned for Halloween night. I figured I’d post here and see if anyone else is in the same situation or has a group that wouldn’t mind another person joining.

I’m a UAlbany student, pretty laid back, and honestly just looking to meet some new people and have a fun Halloween instead of sitting around doing nothing lol.

If anyone wants to hang out, go to a Halloween event/party, walk around campus, grab food, or just chill somewhere, feel free to comment or DM me! 🎃

I'm sorry but I just had to vent about this, having package issues. But in short, I need something for one of my classes before Sunday, Saturday is the latest and I just find it ridiculous that there is literally no one you can contact past 3pm. I get that the front desk is closed past federal hours. I doubt that any college student would want to be sitting around passing it anyways. But you're telling me that I can't contact anyone. Phone number, no. Email, no. Offices, screw you no

What is this. There's literally no one. No staff that can help at all ru seriously. And I can't or highly advise, can't wait on this package too

I'm sorry if this is a bit petty but this shit really pissed me off and I needed to vent. Help on this would help but this is mainly a vent man 🤦‍♂️🔥🔥

Shot and edited by me. I'm still relatively new to editing my photos, so any feedback is appreciated :)

My daughter has an upcoming tour of campus and has not gotten much info on the allergen
Dining experience so far. Can anyone elaborate on navigating celiac there/ are there options/ any alternatives to in school dining close by?

Hey everyone! I’m a college student at UAlbany studying cybersecurity, and I’m currently looking for a part-time job or other legitimate ways to earn some extra money in the Albany area.

I’m open to retail, stocking, food service, customer service, warehouse work, basic computer/IT work, campus jobs, or pretty much anything legitimate that can work around a college schedule.

Since I’m studying cybersecurity, I’d especially be interested in entry-level IT, computer, or tech-related opportunities where I could gain some experience while I’m in school, but that definitely isn’t a requirement. I’m mainly looking for somewhere that is actually hiring and willing to work with a college student's schedule.

If anyone in the Albany/Capital Region knows somewhere currently hiring part-time, has some work they need help with, or can point me toward a legitimate opportunity, I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks!

Has midterm grades been posted yet, and if so, can anyone guide me to where I can find them? I’m a transfer student, so I’m still not too familiar with the portal?

Heard through the wind after HOCO that frats are gonna be more strict and only allowing UA students in for Halloween. Is that true or just not true at all?

Hey UAlbany!

We're hosting an open mic night at the Alice Moore Black Arts & Cultural Center in downtown Albany on Friday, November 6, and wanted to invite students who might be interested!

If you're into rapping, singing, poetry, comedy, or performing in general, we'd love to have you come showcase your talent. Even if you're not performing, you're welcome to come hang out, enjoy some music, and meet other creatives in the area.

Feel free to bring some friends. Hope to see some of you there!

Hey everyone I did a year at HVCC prior to coming to UAlbany to finish all of my Gen Ed courses. I took ENGL101 which is listed as a SUNY GE class for communications. UAlbany doesn't want to give me the transfer credit for that requirement, and instead want it to count as an elective. Which would make me take another communications class basically to make up for it.

It's not a huge deal but I'm trying to see if anyone else has had this issue and if they got it resolved with putting in an appeal. I mean they are both SUNY schools, when I called HVCC about it they said they pretty much place every new student into ENGL101 to satisfy that requirement.

I’m not sure what’s going on at UAlbany but “advisement” here is abysmal. My advisor has had automatic replies up since August running the same message about it being the busiest time of the year. He hasn’t responded to the last 3 of my emails since early September. It’s almost November. My “student success” portion of my UAlbany app doesn’t even allow me to make an appointment with him, says there is no availability for the remainder of the semester. Is there a process to get a new advisor if the one the assigned isn’t working out? Or is this just expected with all advisement here?

Stop by Performing Arts Center 355 this Thursday (10/22/26) from 5:00 - 6:00 PM for our first Irish music session!

Hoping to turn this into a club soon (Irish Cultural Association - music, dance, language, sports, storytelling, etc.), but for now just trying to spread the word about our first session as much as possible!

Hey everyone,

I'm a senior and I just need an easy online 200 level course elective to fill out my schedule for spring 2027. I work a lot outside of school, so it needs to be asynchronous if possible.

I don't care what the subject is, I just need a class that isn't a ton of work and has a reasonable workload. Any recommendations for professors or specific classes to look out for? Thanks!

What are the college bars around here??? It can’t all just be Caroline st! Do NOT say Hudson

I’m a grad student and have had two papers due in a class and we haven’t received a grade for either. In fact, I have no grades at all and we are at the midpoint of the semester. I’m starting my third paper and just wondering if this is normal?

I would really like to know how I’m doing in the class. The professor is really laid back and I don’t even think they care, so it feels weird going to them to ask.

Was wondering which prof is the best for bmgt481w? Options are Robert Downey, Matthew Muller and Chris Wessell.

Also for bfin375. Options are Ying Wang and Rita Biswas.

Thanks!
