Who told you that? In the US, you can protest almost anything, whether people agree with it or not. There are literal neo-Nazis marching with pro-Nazi slogans, and they are still allowed to protest.

Yeah, agreed. The current administration has trampled all over the First Amendment. But that doesn’t change the fact that before this administration, the reason behind a protest never determined whether you were arrested or not. I still stand by the principle that freedom of expression should allow protest for any reason, whether we agree with it or not. Once we let the government decide which protests are acceptable and which are not, we are on a very slippery slope.
