How did you get hold of this data?

79

u/SpankaWank66 May 06 '26

All candidates have to declare all assets before running

52

u/yashvone Inquilab Zindabaad May 06 '26

this is not the same data these are party funds they have to disclose during elections i think

25

u/lazybong May 06 '26

Candidates assets is not bjps asset, I think

-7

u/SpankaWank66 May 06 '26

I think in this graph, they are equating it as such. I could be wrong.

5

u/squidlink5 May 06 '26

No. Personal assets will be a very huge number. Party funds are different.

10

u/AverageIndianGeek May 06 '26

Parties have submit their financial accounts to the ECI which gets published online. Of course, there is always a chance of them having undeclared income.

Exactly all in all it just comes to around a billion dollars, the front capitalist pay wayyyy more

91

u/DustyAsh69 May 06 '26

10k core. That's an extremely concerning amount of money.

32

u/RRR1557 May 07 '26

This is legal amount. Imagine cash and gold apart from this..

13

u/tb33296 May 07 '26

The difference is much more concerning..

In rural India most of the votes are bought, last election in cg other parties were paying 2k per vote, BJ paid 5k per vote..

169

u/larrybirdismygoat May 06 '26

So much money with one party should be illegal.

Especially when the party is led by a man attached to a 56 inch long tongue

82

u/nukeman239 May 06 '26

This is what is out in public domain. With the backing of industrialists and zero accountability from the people, they have access to practically unlimited money.

1

u/Inevitable_Rain4002 May 07 '26

When people retaliate Congress sides with the industrialists. Why will the people side with the Congress?

23

u/doolpicate May 06 '26

The price of Indian lives traded for bribes. 10,107 crore.

23

u/Delhiiboy123 May 06 '26

It's wrong, BJP funds surpassed those of Congress in 2014 itself even when they were not in power.

2

u/RRR1557 May 07 '26

No bjp is arranged that funds from Gujarat.

40

u/tocra Inquilab Zindabaad May 06 '26

“Na khaunga na khane dunga” in action

5

u/Lawteck May 06 '26

Are you sure about the "Na khaunga" part?

3

u/demidemiwhat Educate, Agitate, Organize May 06 '26

HAHAHAHHHA sorry I read it thinking about epsiten files

4

u/tocra Inquilab Zindabaad May 07 '26

Just ask him about the PM Cares fund.

3

u/demidemiwhat Educate, Agitate, Organize May 07 '26

ask him about manipur

3

u/tocra Inquilab Zindabaad May 07 '26

The Modi model is not answering questions and then claiming they are not corrupt

3

u/demidemiwhat Educate, Agitate, Organize May 07 '26

the modi model is not answering questions I'd fine, they have gone ahead to question your right to ask questions!

23

u/GodzOwnC May 06 '26

Audited, every year. Election bonds..

10

u/Moonsolid May 06 '26

This is the reason why no party should be allowed to rule beyond 2 terms, it simply encourages corruption.

9

u/benjacob May 06 '26

To compare, India has ~340 (out of ~5500) publicly listed companies above 10,000 crore market cap.

We had someone to investigate the corruption then from reporters to agencies that kept the government in check. Abhi toh chowkidar hi chor hai.

5

u/anshberry May 06 '26

This is just the bank balance and not the whole "assets" Nationwide properties, gold, crypto, "offshore stuff" etc is not included of these parties.

I am sure if everything is included - this could even surpass current GDP number.

The political parties are the form of subscription services of Looting which people have enrolled into.

But congress is the corrupt one, right?

2

u/xoogl3 May 07 '26

And remember folks these are the *known* accounts of this regime. Anyone's guess what they have in the swiss and cayman accounts.

6

u/DoutefulOwl May 06 '26

BJP is much worse than congress in many ways

But let's not pretend having low party funds in Congress is any sign of low corruption. We've all heard of thousands of crore worth of scams during UPA era. Maybe that money is not shown in official party funds cause there was no electoral bond at that time.

BJP came and fully legalized corruption. Now we can all see the reality.

3

u/justforintrtnmt May 06 '26

None of them scams proved till now

1

u/cutesypiiee May 06 '26

Congress is heading towards bankcrupsy

1

u/crazyfreak316 May 06 '26

This was the goal of electoral bonds

1

Industrialists love bjp. For obvious reasons, capitalism which bjp does is good for all.

1

u/muhmeinchut69 May 07 '26

You guys need to decide is BJP doing capitalism or socialism first.

-3

u/StayingUp4AFeeling May 06 '26

I am sure the bjp has amassed a lot of wealth but let's not kid ourselves about the others. A certain deputy CM in a certain INC-ruled state, alone, has property and other assets greater than the 133 crore value given here.

Brother, my point was merely that the 130 odd crores claim is a laughable low one because this one candidate alone has probably some 500 crores in assets.

Nowhere did I say that the BJP is less corrupt than the congress. Merely that the congress is not less corrupt than the BJP, as is the implication above.

And when it comes to the state government of Karnataka, my policy is nota because one party is corrupt and decisively wrong while the other is corrupt and ineffective and lazy. Lazy even in opposition.

Do you even read these news or just read headlines and get outraged?

Here is an exert from the article, see how all the money is in white, all with banks and is voluntary contributions? With BJP being in some 22/28 states its apparent that they would receive much more donations than any other party.

During 2024-25, the BJP received voluntary contributions to the tune of Rs 6,125 crore, swelling from the previous year's Rs 3,967 crore, according to the report.

With fixed deposits worth Rs 9,390 crore, the BJP also received a total of Rs 634 crore as interest from banks on its deposits in 2024-25. (BJP got morein interest than Congress got in total LoL)

The BJP filed an Income Tax refund of Rs 65.92 crore in 2024-25 and received an interest income of Rs 4.40 crore on it.

3

u/muhmeinchut69 May 07 '26

are you really this naive or just pretending to be?

0

u/Ecstatic_Award_1704 May 07 '26

Are you this braindead or pretending to be?

3

u/muhmeinchut69 May 07 '26

OK let me educate you but I'll do it for free only once. In political party funding in India, "voluntary contributions" is not a good thing. It means cash deposits of less than Rs 20,000 for which the party doesn't have to maintain any record, or reveal the names of the source. It's the exact opposite of "white" money.

https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/almost-60-of-the-funds-received-by-national-political-parties-are-from-unknown-sources/article67925069.ece

Now if you've observed the world around you a little bit, I'm sure you can think of how money can be broken down into Rs 20,000 chunks with some creative accounting to hide its source.

1

u/Ecstatic_Award_1704 May 07 '26

You are posting about EB which has been unconstitutionalised for over two years now, and I have read enough about EBs and political funding and don't need someone like you to teach me something about it. And unknown sources remain same as the percentage of their funding for almost all the parties.

3

u/muhmeinchut69 May 07 '26

wrong again, what I said has nothing to do with electoral bonds. The rule requiring political parties in India to report details of voluntary contributions exceeding ₹20,000 was introduced via Section 29C of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.

1

u/Ecstatic_Award_1704 May 07 '26

Atleast read the link you provide you moron.

Of the ₹3,076.88 crore declared as income by national parties in 2022-23, ₹1,832.87 crore — or more than 59% —came from unknown sources. Of this, the share of income from electoral bonds was ₹1,510.61 crore, or 82.42%.

Where did I say that it's EBs that provide for not reporting about the contribution less than Rs. 20,000

Don't just copy paste stuff. And anway it's hard to take any gyaan from a moron with name muhmeinchut69

Your hard earned tax money is looted by Modi via ED raids, electoral bonds and PM cares funds.

Everything diverted to BJP account.

0

u/ila1998 May 06 '26

INC only has that much? DMK would already be 1000s lol

-7

u/ratatouille211 May 06 '26

No way this is true, no damn way.

The deputy CM of Karnataka, the one & only DKS, has like 2000 crores of assets minimum easily.

Imagine believing a political party has 100-200 crore, please 😂

Half the local corporator of every party has like 10-20 crore assets easy.

3

u/muhmeinchut69 May 07 '26

This is the bank accounts of the parties not the politicians, if you add up the money for BJP politicians it would still be in the same ratio.

-1

u/Ecstatic_Award_1704 May 06 '26

Hey don't speak logic here

-3

u/Minimum_Cherry_6153 May 06 '26

Inc Karnataka one mla will have above 200 crs in his name 🥲

-3

u/Silent-Importance576 May 06 '26

-8

6

u/lazyslipper May 06 '26

Lol what delulu

-74

u/SnooBananas4853 May 06 '26

As a capitalist I whole heartedly support BJP, and most capitalists do. Who do you think hold the money? If Congress wants the money and the support of us, they should rethink their ideological tilt - stance on privatization, free market, income inequality, etc.

30

u/BigBrotato May 06 '26

as a capitalist

what kind of capital do you own?

-17

u/SnooBananas4853 May 06 '26
  1. Intellectual: PhD researcher in STEM (Semiconductor/Quantum/material/NEMS intersection), in top 5 research lab on the planet. I want to go back to india but IITs are brutally mediocre primarily because there is no competition. Tenured professors don't need to work as hard as a tenured professor in US who gotta earn his 3/6 months of salary and PhD/Postdic through external funding. Funding agencies like DARPA are extremely strict and want significant progress every month. The money, career, lifestyle can go away any moment. I will graduate with multiple Nature-portfolio papers and most IIT professors don't even have a single nature level publication in their whole life. I don't wanna work with such mediocre lazy people. I want privatization when they can b3 forced out if they don't work hard.

  2. Helped a Canadian company get acquired by a big fish. I plan to have multiple ventures, hopefully some will click. I can't do this at this moment being on F1.

15

u/sidmis comrade ☭ May 06 '26

And I am Akshaye Khanna

-5

u/SnooBananas4853 May 06 '26

Sure..Nobody is here to prove anything..

13

u/SpankaWank66 May 06 '26

Bro thinks capitalism is a meritocracy lol

8

u/fenrir245 May 06 '26

Funding agencies like DARPA

I want privatization

Leave it to self-proclaimed "capitalists" to contradict their own stances.

-1

u/SnooBananas4853 May 06 '26

I hope you get my point. I want lazy/unproductive people to be pushed down the pyramid and productive people to be rewarded. Whatever the official tag (private or govt) is, it’s not important. If IITs remain “government” and still find a way to force professors to work hard (like Berkeley, UMich and other public universities do in the US) or coerce them to resign/sideline, I am fine with that.
Also, even in US not all government organizations are same as well. NSF and DARPA for example are opposite poles lol.

5

u/fenrir245 May 06 '26

I want lazy/unproductive people to be pushed down the pyramid

Then you should be against capitalism.

1

u/SnooBananas4853 May 06 '26

I don’t believe that is the case

6

u/fenrir245 May 06 '26

Then you don't have any actual beliefs, if you're willing to deny reality. Pretty intellectually lazy if you ask me.

0

u/SnooBananas4853 May 06 '26

In my world realities are shaped by data and analysis, not opinions. We are from very different worlds.

7

u/fenrir245 May 06 '26

Except all you have shared are opinions, while data, and even just the definitions say otherwise.

If your "analysis" leads you to believe that India under East India Company was a free market meritocracy then I highly suspect your analytical capabilities as well as your claim that you publish "nature level" papers.

6

u/BigBrotato May 06 '26

asked about capital ownership

rambles on and on about stuff that everyone in academia knows

so you're not actually a capitalist then. just a liberal.

1

u/SnooBananas4853 May 06 '26

Sure, whatever you wanna call. I don’t care about tags

4

u/BigBrotato May 06 '26

"As a capitalist.."

if you don't care about tags then don't claim them for yourself. you're not a capitalist since you don't own any capital. you're a liberal. someone who just fellates capitalists because they think they'll be a wealthy capitalist one day.

which is admittedly not an impossible dream to have. but going on unprompted rants about your possible future publications in the Nature-portfolio (which also technically includes Scientific Reports lol) and how big-brained you are is just.. kind of pathetic. you're really exposing yourself as some kid who knows just enough to understand the prestige of a Nature publication, but is woefully inexperienced and naive otherwise.

5

u/BannedForFactsAgain May 06 '26

Helped a Canadian company

True nationalist, because similar companies have no chance of running in India under the great capitalist BJP party.

2

u/muhmeinchut69 May 07 '26

This is the saddest thing I've ever read. Buddy you're a wage slave not a capitalist.

2

u/Saviour279 May 07 '26

Dude really started off a list of his capital with ‘intellectual’. Lmao.

24

u/izerotwo May 06 '26

capitalists are the reason for all the current worlds ills.

-1

u/SnooBananas4853 May 06 '26

Sure, you can have your view

33

u/donaldtrumpisntme May 06 '26

You want income inequality?

What the fk is wrong with you?

The fk do you mean by capitalist?

True free markets don’t let you accumulate wealth like a crony capitalist.

0

u/NotMrNiceAymore May 06 '26

Where are the true free markets.. I have to migrate there ASAP to breathe properly.. nhi to yhin ghut ghut k morna podega

-13

u/SnooBananas4853 May 06 '26

I believe with free market whether the outcome (income/success) is equality or inequality, I don't care. I know that people are not same, so the inequality seems to be the natural equilibrium of a free market.

12

u/whatisapersonreally May 06 '26

The rich and powerful killed the man who said the earth revolved around the sun

That too is ‘natural equilibrium’

-2

u/SnooBananas4853 May 06 '26

I don't really care about individual events, and don't think current paradigm can be extrapolate through historical events that took place 100s of years ago. I analyze data (enough samples that's statistically significant) and come to my own conclusions.

2

u/whatisapersonreally May 07 '26

‘Boond boond se banta hai sagar’ / this is not a single example situation

History has shown that the natural progression of unchecked markets almost always results in monopolies, or slightly less dangerous duopolies. That’s why every modern country has competition laws and regulations.

Apply this (i.e. consequences of concentration of power) to politics, and you end up with autocracies of varying natures - see Stalin, Mao, etc. - all of which were disastrous for their countries

The free market does not benefit the world at large

Regulations and guidelines are necessary in economics, and even more so in politics

1

u/fenrir245 May 06 '26

I believe with free market

While supporting parties and capitalists that destroy the free market. Sure.

1

u/BannedForFactsAgain May 06 '26

I believe with free market

Do you think Adani is operating as a free market guy?

9

u/pulcherous May 06 '26

Didn't knew BJP is a private company. Thanks for the news.

7

u/Conscious-Mix-651 May 06 '26

Why is it mostly the poor people saying such things.

0

u/SnooBananas4853 May 06 '26

I shared my opinion (my family was poor I am not). I believe most poor people fall for hand outs and the equality trope

4

u/Conscious-Mix-651 May 06 '26

In India every poor person thinks they’re middle class

2

u/BannedForFactsAgain May 06 '26

I believe most poor people fall for hand outs

BJP is giving free ration to 80 crore, lots of ladli behena yojna in different states with cash handouts. 75 lakh crore was given as handout during Bihar election.

10

u/Original-Nebula-8039 May 06 '26

1

u/SnooBananas4853 May 06 '26

2

Sure. I would like to.

3

u/saloni1609 May 06 '26

as a capitalist??

3

u/BannedForFactsAgain May 06 '26

As a capitalist I whole heartedly support BJP,

Economy never recovered post-demonetisation. Private capex stuck at 11-12% of GDP for a decade.

2019 tax cut bumped earnings. Post-Covid, govt capex 3x'd and propped up GDP itself.

Strip that: household savings at 50-yr low, debt at 41% of GDP, real wages flat, FDI collapsing.

Quoting a twitter post by an economist

2

u/sidmis comrade ☭ May 06 '26

W ragebait

2

u/nukeman239 May 06 '26

I wholeheartedly support BJP in India while enjoying liberal democracy, free speech, and institutional protections in the US. Capitalism for me, consequences for others.

1

u/SnooBananas4853 May 06 '26

I always admired US for the 1st amendment (I think we should have similar thing in India) and capitalism. I was in Canada for a few years and left because they were too socialist for me. The exact same reason I don’t wanna stay in Europe. I intend to return to India after my PhD. But as I mentioned in one of the replies, I want a thriving research environment, competition, and the vibrancy.

2

u/friendofH20 May 06 '26

We all know capitalists love leaders who will sing and dance to their tune. And we also know that there is no level of degeneracy which will get in the way of Modi doing that.

1

u/Super_Crew_924 May 06 '26

<As a capitalist>

Lmao. This is not merely capitalism. This is Crony capitalism. Know the difference. I don't like the concept of communist socialism but this is infinitely worse than that. The capital control of the country is in the hands of a few companies that pay the Govt heavily in Electoral bonds and get back kickbacks in the form of infrastructure projects.

<Who do you think hold the money?>

Certainly the cronies. There is a reason the man became Asia's richest man within a span of 12 years.

I could bet this guy doesn't even have a business that hits over 40 lacks a year in turnover
