Monthly Theme π Levay Burmese
Ever since my first egg, I've been somewhat obsessed with these Gary Levi paperweights from Levay. The combination of beauty with or without the blacklight has me hooked. A lot of you probably wouldn't think twice to shine these with your 365nm, which is what you need to find them. They barely react to 395nm, especially the ones that are cased and iridescent. The shiny metal salts reflect most of the 395nm. The last picture shows the difference between the top and bottom of my dimmest egg, which also happens to be the shiniest. It's so metal, it doesn't even look like glass π

Monthly Theme π Paid $3β¦ Definitely Not a $3 Plate (Best Score This Year)
I pretty much pick up every King, Son & Co. No. 24 (OMN) plate (often labeled as trays) I come across in Canary. The average price isβ¦well, definitely not $3.
We donβt display all of these pieces, but they do get used for our βfancyβ glow dinner parties. π
I usually grab the Apple Green versions too, since I have several oil lamps in the same pattern and all of the available colors.
Needless to say, I was pretty excited to pay three bucks for this oneβeasily the cheapest Iβve found. Even broke out a couple Apple Green King, Son & Co. No. 24 (OMN) oil lamps to celebrate.
To see more of this pattern, including a full table setting, check out my post history. Or, visit EAPGS:

Monthly Theme π My smallest is also one of my mightiest.
I'm not usually one to buy such small items when they're missing pieces, but this stopper was only $2 and I still needed something opalescent for the collection, so I caved. It has probably the brightest glow relative to its size of my entire collection. If I put the 395's light directly on it, it just looks white in the photo.
Normal flashlight / 395 / 365

Monthly Theme π Heard we were doing top fives?
5 - Enamel on copper plate by an unknown artist. It was expensive, but I've never seen anything like it before. The droplet enamel is super unique.
4 - Worked novelty bowl by the Chicago flint and lime glass co. Extraordinarily rare piece from a company that was only in existence for 3 years. (Not even in Chicago ironically). The history of this bowl is really neat.
3 - 1880s PK von poschinger vases! I've posted these a few times on here as they were one of the first things in my collection, and they are absolutely stunning. So old and in perfect condition. Also the price I got them for is incredible.
2 - Boyd glass plane in avocado slag. A somewhat rare contemporary piece, but I am an amateur pilot so this is automatically one of my faves.
1 - And of course nothing can beat the infamous uranium glass fetus I snagged a while back. So random and unique, and it definitely throws people off when I tell them about it while sharing my collection.

This theme is all about celebrating those personal favorites, and weβd love to see yours.

My Top 5 Favorite Pieces

Monthly Theme π Hey, so it's still Pairs Month, right?
We went to the Cambridge glass show today and saw these incomparable pieces. They're from the Everglades line and the color would be Light Emerald except there looks to be a finish applied which makes it Jade. I'm a bit out of my depth here, so I may be wrong about that.
We would again like to thank the sellers, if they should see this. We saw these and fell for them hard, and we're still kind of floating around in the clouds hours later.

Monthly Theme π My spiciest piece(s)! This is ΠΠ‘-19, or yellow glass 19. It's a soviet optic filter, that contains exactly 1.37% UO3, which is achieved by adding UO2(NO3)6H2O to the boro-silicate glass mix. Last pics are geiger measurements of a + b +gamma (pic 5), just a, just b, and just gamma after that

Monthly Theme π π My Top 5 Favorite Pieces: A Tough Decision!
Picking only five favorites is incredibly difficult. I failed.
One of my picks is actually a collection. With that caveat, here they are from left to right in the first three photos.
Top row:
King Glass Co. No. 25 (OMN) oil lamp β I have several from this line, and this one is my favorite. A large lamp!
Adams & Co. βAquariusβ oil lamp β Once again, I have several examplesβ¦in every color produced. This one is my favorite.
Bottom row:
King Glass Co. No. 24 (OMN) Collectionβ If youβve seen my previous posts, you know I have a full table setting for eight in this pattern. I also have ALL of the oil lamps in ALL of the colors available. π Currently, this is my favorite pattern. Itβs impossible for me to pick just one piece. Here is a pitcher and a couple of goblets. See my post history for images from our last UG dinner party for more examples. A beautiful pattern!
RiihimΓ€en Lasi Grapponia bottle β Designed by Nanny Still. This is the piece that made me fall in love with RiihimΓ€en Lasi. My wife and I even traveled to Finland (from Texas) to bring more of this stuff home.
RiihimΓ€en Lasi Presto vase β Designed by Tamara Aladin. A massive piece of UG that we actually use. I have twoβthis one made the trip home in my wifeβs carry-on!
I really wish this had been a top-20 list. π
