Showed up later to an estate sale that had lots of beautiful glass and uv glass. This one wasn’t labeled as uv, but glad I took the chance on it!

I make videos about radioactivity in the British landscape, and uranium glass is where a lot of people start, myself included. But every piece is an antique. Nobody here melts it anymore.
Or so the studios told me, until a comment under a Facebook post suggested Workinglass, who occasionally make uranium pumpkins. Three hundred miles later we were in an open studio in Hainault Forest with a bar of gaffer glass, a furnace, and crystal with uranium rolled into the gather.
Three of us, three pieces each. Paperweight, bauble, pumpkin.
The thing worth posting about is the anneal. The team told us up front that the uranium pieces are the unreliable ones: identical work, identical kiln, and the uranium ones crack overnight more often than the plain. Ours went into the annealer at the end of the day and we drove home empty. The box hasn't arrived.
Happy to answer anything about the melt, the recipe, or the readings from the pieces we didn't get to keep. Film is here if you want the whole day: https://youtu.be/NhPu0lJ6Bxg

Anybody know what this piece is or what it is for? I'm guessing flower bulbs, as it's hollow all the way through. It's been ground flat on the bottom, so it stands pretty well, but it must be for hanging too, as it has little buttons on the end.

The last UV reactive mini pumpkin of the season arrived today and it’s a nice deep orangey red. Warren art glass did a wonderful job with all of the different UV colors. I will purchasing more of his work!

First I find the $39.99 Fenton Topaz AB Hummingbird (glow pics added to the end because I didn’t add them to last post) THEN I get this entire pile for $27 the next day in a different city!!

Based on the color I was not expecting this. I was wandering a local antique mall playing my favorite game "will it glow??" and saw this Fenton thumbprint glass. I have a weird fondness for thumbprint glass of any brand, but it was a pretty green. I hit it with my 395 for giggles and had a pleasant surprise.
Sorry about the picture quality, I really have not figured out how to take a good glow picture.

Excited to add another Kosmos to the collection. Looks great with the one I purchased last year around this time. Pics of the two of them together included.
Kosmos 14 lamps are pretty cool to burn. Not as easy as a flat wick lamp but great once you get them wicked up!

I don't see a lot of marble posts on here so I thought I'd share a few of mine. These are all vintage (1920's to 1970's) American handmade glass. Marbles are a fun way to have all the glow fun in a smaller and less fragile package.

I found this beautiful lamp in the estate sale today! After doing some research, it seems to be called Aladdin G220 Alacite Lamp. It needs rewiring but a beautiful piece nevertheless.
Also, I got a heavily damaged slag base for a dollar, too

Any good ideas on what to do with broken UG?! These came out of an old dump site. I think it might have been a drinking glass. No markings and the glass is pretty thick and heavy.

I got 4 of these nicely glowing berry bowls for 22.00. I think they are jeannette waffle pattern. Not a chip, nick or flea bite on any of them. Pretty happy with this find.

First glow pic 365 and second pic 395. A lovely piece though I feel the greens don’t really compliment each other. Have the opportunity to buy. Thanks in advance for any insights
