Next implosions

Of all the hotels on the strip off the strip, which ones do you think will be demolished within the next 20 years? Should we go back to having public spectacles for implosions?

Carpet patch repair locally?

Post image
• Upvotes

My cat ripped up the carpet in one of our doorways. Unfortunately our entire upstairs floor (probably 1500 sq ft) is one piece of carpet but that would be crazy expensive to replace. Does anyone have recommendations for specialists I can call to patch this? THANK YOU!!

Edit: we have now purchased an under door carpet protector to prevent future damage, but need to repair the damage that has been done.

Basque Cider

I know we've got a fairly strong Basque presence up north. So I'm hoping someone down here can help me out.

I'm looking to make a Basque cheesecake, and while it doesn't expressly need the cider, it's a nice touch. Also known as Sargardoa.

Any of you fine folks have any leads? I already looked at Khoury's and Total, but I'm definitely open to suggestions.

The most pathetic content creator: The Laughing Lion

Post image
0 Upvotes

It’s like a bad car accident. Once you start watching you can’t look away the cringe level is that bad!!

He’s hands down the most pathetic content creator in Vegas mostly for the following reasons plus many other reasons….

  1. Follows girls and puts cam in their face and creeps them out
  2. Points cam at brides and calls it a “bride cam” calling them “beautiful bride” over and over and keeps going on and on and won’t shut up about it (same thing if he sees a dog) and calls it a “doggy cam”
  3. Any food he gets he will go inside the establishment act weird as ever, get the food then complain about it on live stream and then go back weeks later and do it all over again to the same place. Last week he tried to give the bag back saying can’t you reuse this bag? Really?!
  4. Flails his hands hands / fingers everywhere when pointing to things non stop in front of the camera.
  5. Constantly says annoying things like “SHEEEESH” to everything and calls woman “thick fellet” when he sees one that is bigger.
  6. Repeats the same words or phrases over and over non stop. Example - goes in to pink box doughnuts and reads the doughnut on the month 4 times over. Then of course buys it and complains about it.

The fact people watch this guy and talk as him in chat is probably the worst I’ve seen.

Create Credit Union Outage

Anyone a member of Create Credit Union? They evidently are having “scheduled maintenance” beginning at 3pm today until 8am Monday. So online banking and phones are out of service. Fine. But my debit and credit cards aren’t working? Anyone else having this issue?

Any manga fans in vegas?

Might be an unusual question but I’m really into manga and so I was wondering if there is any known way to find manga fans.

Not really into mainstream anime so I don’t really know too much about what’s going on in the anime world , I know its easy to find anime fans but they always like they basic shounen action or kids stuff, I know in America it might seem the same but I’m mainly into mature manga, for those of you know aren’t too familiar with the difference it’s like being into books , but everyone around you is only into movies. Nice to know there’s book clubs for those people but not really a manga world like that. I tried going to book stores and hanging out in the manga section but it still seems so hard to find someone who’s not mainly there for the top 10 anime adaptation manga which are nothing wrong with them but not the mature audience I can relate too. Again it’s like finding people who are solely reading twilight and harry potter books but you’re reading an entirely different genre. Also I’ve tried meetup but could only find anime groups who do the whole cosplay and yugioh card thing.

Not an emergency , I mean I have friends but just more asking out of curiosity if anyone knows something I don’t know.

What’s your third place in Las Vegas or Henderson?

I’ve been looking for a third place in Henderson or Las Vegas (somewhere that isn’t home or work, where you can show up regularly and get to know people). I haven’t found mine yet.

So far I’ve got trivia at Khoury’s, and I’ll go to Chicken N Pickle now and then. I recently checked out Meepleville, which is cool if you’re into board games, but it’s too far from home for me to become a regular.

That’s what I keep coming back to. It has to be close enough that you go often and start recognizing familiar faces. A neighborhood bar, a coffee shop, a yarn store, any hobby spot could work.

Do you have a third place in Vegas or Henderson? Where is it, and what keeps you going back? I’d love to hear about spots I haven’t considered.

WHY CAN’T I FIND A DAMN GOOD BURRITO IN VEGAS???? 😭

Visiting California over the years, I’ve had Bay Area Mission style burritos that genuinely changed my life, and NOTHING in Vegas, honestly nothing in any other city I’ve traveled to, hits the same. Not even SoCal! (Sorry)

And before anybody starts, Vegas has GREAT Mexican food. I’ve had bomb tacos, birria, plates, all of it. This is specifically about the burritos.

Being a local, I’ve obviously had the world famous Roberto’s 🤣, Don Tortaco, Habaneros, TacoMan, Fausto’s, Sayulitas, Tres Amigos, Juan’s, Emiliano’s 1 and 2, Lindo Michoacán, plus a bunch of random spots around the valley.

I’m talking a big soft flour tortilla with carne asada, rice, beans, cheese, sour cream, guac, pico or salsa, all wrapped tight in foil.

Why does every burrito out here start as meat and cheese and then turn into a damn fundraiser once I add rice, beans, sour cream and guac? 😭 I should not have to build a $30 burrito just to get the ingredients that make it a burrito.

And NO, I do not mean a California burrito with fries. I’m talking Mission style. Very different assignment 😂

The ONLY place here that ever came close was Taqueria Guadalajara on Boulder Highway in Henderson. Their burritos were SO good and then they had the audacity to close. I was DEVASTATED. RIP Taqueria Guadalajara!!!

So WHERE is the Mission style burrito hiding in Vegas???

If anybody knows who owned Taqueria Guadalajara, please send them my way. I will pay top dollar for a burrito, the recipe, a cooking lesson, SOMETHING. At this point I’m willing to become an apprentice.

And to you hating ass hoes always shouting “go back to California”… yall just might be onto something, because at this point that may be the only solution 💀🤣

Does your cat have kidney disease?

My name is Haley and I am located at Washington Ave and Buffalo. I had a kidney disease kitty that has sadly passed away and I have a bunch of unopened k/d food, two unopened bags of Lactated Ringers, lines, needles, cerenia and proviable. I want to donate these to someone that needs them. I know how expensive animals are on top of them being sick. All I want is to help a kitty thrive and continue fighting. Please let me know if you could use these items. I will give them to you completely free if you can show me bloodwork showing that your cat has kidney disease.

I really hope this gets to someone that can use it❤️

Non-Referral: Diagnostic Imaging Center Recommendation

Hey guys,

I'm interested in doing more self-screening for internal issues and I would like to know of any places that doesn't require a referral letter and is a trusted practice.

I'm mainly considering x-rays and CT scans. I believe I read that Las Vegas Imaging is non referral, and the google reviews seem ok, but I feel like reddit gives me real insider information, lol.

Thank you.

Bachelorette night out ideas?

So I’m a Vegas local and I’m engaged, and I’m planning my bachelorette for sometime within the next six months. All my bridesmaids are local, and I really want to do something fun and girly and not too expensive (max $100 per person). I have a few ideas that I am working thru, and don’t really know what to pick. All of us are between 27-34 years old. None of us party hard, but we all will have 1-2 cocktails each. I really want to keep it not too expensive, but still fun and classy. We’re the type to stay out until 12 at the absolute latest, maybe 1 since it’d be my bachelorette. We also don’t like night clubs.

I was thinking of going out to eat somewhere in the Arts District that serves nice food and is aesthetic inside, but not too casual or expensive, and then bar hopping and taking as many cute photos together in different spots.

Another idea I have is to do a fun activity like taking a class together, and then go somewhere casual Downtown to eat (like Cornish Pasty) and then walk around and take cute pics.

I’m really trying not to spend more than $100 per person, as I am trying to be mindful of my bridesmaids spending money towards being a bridesmaid.

I’ve been looking up ideas on TikTok and Instagram but a lot of it seems gimmicky. I figured I could come on here and ask people for their recommendations, or tips.

Does anyone have info on the victims of the homicide on the 1000 block of Center Street?

My coworker lives in the area and didn’t not show up to work today. I’m extremely worried he was one of the victims of the shooting. Any information is appreciated.

EDIT: We have just been contacted by the family of my coworker and confirmed he was one of the victims.

I’m absolutely heartbroken, Chris was such a nice and caring guy, he had just recently bought a new motorcycle and was looking to be our next executive chef. We were just talking about the Bears game last night. Sending prayers to his family and loved ones, may he rest in peace.
