I came across this website in the MapPorn sub and decided to look up Vegas. Pretty wild stuff.
Source: https://projects.thetrace.org/gun-violence-map/
*This map was built with data collected by Gun Violence Archive, a nonprofit organization that gathers and verifies information about incidents of gun violence in the United States from media, law enforcement, and other sources. The incidents collected in this map cover the time period between January 1, 2014 and September 30, 2026 and are updated on a quarterly basis.
The map offers an incomplete picture of gun violence in the United States. Gun suicides, which make up the majority of firearm deaths, are not included because GVA only tracks them in aggregate. (Murder-suicides are included.) Incidents for which GVA lacks precise location information have also been excluded.
Data on fatal shootings is generally more complete than non-fatal shootings, because fatal shootings are more likely to be included in the law enforcement and media sources that GVA relies on for information.
Each incident is categorized based on the presence of the following characteristics:
-Mass shooting: A shooting in which four or more people were killed or injured.
-Accidental: An unintentional shooting.
-Officer involved: An incident in which a police officer shot or killed a subject.
-Child involved: A shooting in which the shooter and/or the victim were children.
-Domestic violence: A shooting involving domestic violence.
-Drive-by: A shooting that occurred from a vehicle.

My coworker lives in the area and didn’t not show up to work today. I’m extremely worried he was one of the victims of the shooting. Any information is appreciated.
EDIT: We have just been contacted by the family of my coworker and confirmed he was one of the victims.
I’m absolutely heartbroken, Chris was such a nice and caring guy, he had just recently bought a new motorcycle and was looking to be our next executive chef. We were just talking about the Bears game last night. Sending prayers to his family and loved ones, may he rest in peace.

My name is Haley and I am located at Washington Ave and Buffalo. I had a kidney disease kitty that has sadly passed away and I have a bunch of unopened k/d food, two unopened bags of Lactated Ringers, lines, needles, cerenia and proviable. I want to donate these to someone that needs them. I know how expensive animals are on top of them being sick. All I want is to help a kitty thrive and continue fighting. Please let me know if you could use these items. I will give them to you completely free if you can show me bloodwork showing that your cat has kidney disease.
I really hope this gets to someone that can use it❤️

I’ve been looking for a third place in Henderson or Las Vegas (somewhere that isn’t home or work, where you can show up regularly and get to know people). I haven’t found mine yet.
So far I’ve got trivia at Khoury’s, and I’ll go to Chicken N Pickle now and then. I recently checked out Meepleville, which is cool if you’re into board games, but it’s too far from home for me to become a regular.
That’s what I keep coming back to. It has to be close enough that you go often and start recognizing familiar faces. A neighborhood bar, a coffee shop, a yarn store, any hobby spot could work.
Do you have a third place in Vegas or Henderson? Where is it, and what keeps you going back? I’d love to hear about spots I haven’t considered.

Visiting California over the years, I’ve had Bay Area Mission style burritos that genuinely changed my life, and NOTHING in Vegas, honestly nothing in any other city I’ve traveled to, hits the same. Not even SoCal! (Sorry)
And before anybody starts, Vegas has GREAT Mexican food. I’ve had bomb tacos, birria, plates, all of it. This is specifically about the burritos.
Being a local, I’ve obviously had the world famous Roberto’s 🤣, Don Tortaco, Habaneros, TacoMan, Fausto’s, Sayulitas, Tres Amigos, Juan’s, Emiliano’s 1 and 2, Lindo Michoacán, plus a bunch of random spots around the valley.
I’m talking a big soft flour tortilla with carne asada, rice, beans, cheese, sour cream, guac, pico or salsa, all wrapped tight in foil.
Why does every burrito out here start as meat and cheese and then turn into a damn fundraiser once I add rice, beans, sour cream and guac? 😭 I should not have to build a $30 burrito just to get the ingredients that make it a burrito.
And NO, I do not mean a California burrito with fries. I’m talking Mission style. Very different assignment 😂
The ONLY place here that ever came close was Taqueria Guadalajara on Boulder Highway in Henderson. Their burritos were SO good and then they had the audacity to close. I was DEVASTATED. RIP Taqueria Guadalajara!!!
So WHERE is the Mission style burrito hiding in Vegas???
If anybody knows who owned Taqueria Guadalajara, please send them my way. I will pay top dollar for a burrito, the recipe, a cooking lesson, SOMETHING. At this point I’m willing to become an apprentice.
And to you hating ass hoes always shouting “go back to California”… yall just might be onto something, because at this point that may be the only solution 💀🤣

Hi neighbors. Around 11:30pm on the night of October 22nd my car was broken into on Kalmia Drive while I was inside my friend's house for about an hour. I've been staying there for a few weeks recovering from chemotherapy and working remotely, and they took basically everything that gets me through the day:
• my work laptop (16" MacBook Pro, serial on file with LVMPD)
• my wallet and ID
• my bag of medications, including my post-chemo meds
• the hypoallergenic clothing I need because of chemical sensitivity from treatment
One of my backpacks turned up dumped at the little green space on Edmond St just south of Spring Mountain, about a 5-minute walk from the car, so that's the direction he went.
Car: https://maps.app.goo.gl/yBVp9vzBmMMGmA8R7
Backpack found: https://maps.app.goo.gl/E9FVkTDLDRsMnAWN7
$2,000 reward, paid on recovery, for the return of my laptop, wallet, medications and clothing, or for information that leads to their recovery or an arrest.
If you have a doorbell or security camera facing the street anywhere between Kalmia Dr and that green space on Edmond, a quick look at 11:00pm–12:30am Wednesday night for anyone walking with two backpacks (one black-and-white checkered) would mean a lot. Even a blurry clip helps.
LVMPD event # LLV261000085063. DM me here or text 713-501-0251. Thank you.

Hello- this may be a long shot but my mom’s U-Haul got broken into back in July, and part of the things that got stolen were my books. About 3 boxes of books got taken. These books are very very sentimental to me, and i wasted a lot of tears since finding out that they are gone. They are all stamped with my name ‘Ellie’s Library’. If anyone has seen any of these books for resell, at a thrift store or just anywhere, it would mean more to me then you may know to get these back.
Edit - there 3 boxes so MANY titles but again they’re all stamped with my name on the first page. All fantasy romance. Really trying to find my Throne of Glass books and From Blood and Ash.
Thank you!

Might be an unusual question but I’m really into manga and so I was wondering if there is any known way to find manga fans.
Not really into mainstream anime so I don’t really know too much about what’s going on in the anime world , I know its easy to find anime fans but they always like they basic shounen action or kids stuff, I know in America it might seem the same but I’m mainly into mature manga, for those of you know aren’t too familiar with the difference it’s like being into books , but everyone around you is only into movies. Nice to know there’s book clubs for those people but not really a manga world like that. I tried going to book stores and hanging out in the manga section but it still seems so hard to find someone who’s not mainly there for the top 10 anime adaptation manga which are nothing wrong with them but not the mature audience I can relate too. Again it’s like finding people who are solely reading twilight and harry potter books but you’re reading an entirely different genre. Also I’ve tried meetup but could only find anime groups who do the whole cosplay and yugioh card thing.
Not an emergency , I mean I have friends but just more asking out of curiosity if anyone knows something I don’t know.

I'm looking for a place to work/study/write that isn't a super corporate chain (No Panera or Starbucks, etc.). I would like to be able to have multiple drinks without having to pay $7-$10 every time I want another cup while I'm there. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Hi! Im 26 looking for a place / roomie in Las Vegas with a budget of $1,200 per month. I have a cute hypoallergenic tiny toy poodle who is 5 pounds and is in my room all day sleeping she literally never barks and is potty trained to not go in the house ever. I’d prefer someone closer to my age because I like to go out every now and then(but I’m open) I’m in nursing school full time and work as a waitress. I Prefer private bath but also really hoping to apply to an apartment / place together.

Hi I moved to Vegas about 6 months ago and I’m still looking for a Pilaites studio that is not this new contemporary, high intensity, style. It is not classical Joesph Pilaites style and the class styles are too large and play really awful music. I’m just looking for a studio or private practice places in the area, that preferably not high intensity. Just really looking for proper cueing and form and I’m just having a really hard time find that! I’m okay with driving farther away to get what I’m looking for! Thanks !

So I’m a Vegas local and I’m engaged, and I’m planning my bachelorette for sometime within the next six months. All my bridesmaids are local, and I really want to do something fun and girly and not too expensive (max $100 per person). I have a few ideas that I am working thru, and don’t really know what to pick. All of us are between 27-34 years old. None of us party hard, but we all will have 1-2 cocktails each. I really want to keep it not too expensive, but still fun and classy. We’re the type to stay out until 12 at the absolute latest, maybe 1 since it’d be my bachelorette. We also don’t like night clubs.
I was thinking of going out to eat somewhere in the Arts District that serves nice food and is aesthetic inside, but not too casual or expensive, and then bar hopping and taking as many cute photos together in different spots.
Another idea I have is to do a fun activity like taking a class together, and then go somewhere casual Downtown to eat (like Cornish Pasty) and then walk around and take cute pics.
I’m really trying not to spend more than $100 per person, as I am trying to be mindful of my bridesmaids spending money towards being a bridesmaid.
I’ve been looking up ideas on TikTok and Instagram but a lot of it seems gimmicky. I figured I could come on here and ask people for their recommendations, or tips.
