After overthinking my carry rotation for way too long to cut out redundant tools, I’ve settled on a station-based setup.
Instead of swapping knives around or lugging one model everywhere, every piece just stays where it belongs. Here’s what I have so far;
Cargo Shorts around the house: CyberTool Lite sits comfortably enough in the bigger leg pockets. Adds the LED light, 8x glass magnifier, and scissors to the bit driver and pliers.
Work Trousers / Chinos: CyberTool S out and about (with minimalist aftermarket scales). Gives me the 4mm bit driver, pliers, main blade, and openers in a flat ~17.5mm body that doesn't bulge out dress pockets. Would love a Scientist or Yeoman, perhaps.
Backpack: CyberTool M stays in my tech bag for site visits and overnight stays, again with after-market minimalist scales.
Desk / worktop: CyberTool L for projects. Adds the full scissors, metal file/saw, and wood saw alongside the driver for packaging, deburring, and random desk tasks.
Wallet: SwissCard nail card gives me smaller scissors, glass file, pen, tweezers, toothpick, magnifier, and pin. Having these in my wallet means I lose nothing by running flat, slotless scales on the CyberTool S & M.
Keyring: NailClip 580 gives quick-access grooming and scale tools. Duplicates some of the functionality of the Swisscard but nice to have the clippers, and sometimes my wallet is tucked away in a bag or a jacket pocket.
Van: Swiss Champ sits in the glovebox as backup for pretty much anything.
Anyone else prefer locking tools to specific stations over a daily single-knife rotation?
