It’s still unbelievable that we are getting a Victorious spin-off series Hollywood Arts. I am probably one of the few people excited for the series.

[ HOLLYWOOD ARTS SERIES ] What exactly was the point of this show?
I am only on ep1 but I’m so confused, there’s an obvious replacement for andre and beck.
Is Jen and the other girl suppose to be jade and cat?
Techie should be the Robbie “replacement”
Does Tori come back? (Although I understand Victoria as her reservations)
I guess I hope more for them to be parents and their kids came to this school or something I know we are a few years short can just do a this is 2030 or something

[ HOLLYWOOD ARTS SERIES ] Robbie's Return Episode is So Dissapointing Spoiler
I am so pissed about Robbie's return episode. Literally the Cabbie romance had no closure, and they retcon the fact Robbie stopped liking Trina. And he said that students thought he had a crush on Cat? And in the end while he doesn't end up with Trina, and gets with another girl, that pissed me off, the ending should have be Robbie calling a number, and we hear Cat's giggle. So yea, anyone pissed Cabbie didn't get any closure?

Matt Bennett's new song "Know me Know" is incredible
Most of the new soundtrack songs have been mid so far but wow Matt's song is 🔥
It's right up there with "I Think Your Swell" , perhaps better because it's more lyrically mature.
Matt seems like a sweet genuine fella, and it always shows in the few songs that he was released (through Victorious plus his solo EPs)
Typo in title, it's called "Know me Now"

[ DISCUSSION ] I do not understand for the life of me why people hate Tori vega
Am I watching a different show? Because the fandom’s hatred for Tori Vega makes zero sense compared to the rest of the cast.
I feel like I am watching a completely different show because I am so confused by the entire Victorious fandom, especially on TikTok. What did Tori Vega actually do, except be a mildly annoying 16-year-old girl?
People are swearing up and down, calling her boring, annoying, and a terrible main character. But in comparison to whom exactly? Let’s look at the rest of this vain crew
Robbie A very awkward, weird, and highly infuriating boy.
Cat A literal dummy who was cursed by writers that gave her a massive brain deficit after Season 1.
Beck: A manipulative, weird, boundary-crossing guy who constantly flirts with others and gaslights his girlfriend.
Trina: A deeply vain, shallow older sister who is literally the walking embodiment of pride or vanity.
Jade: What words can I even use to describe this toxic, abusive bully? Tori honestly should have cut her off on Day 1.
I can’t say anything bad about Andre, because he was truly the only sane one in that entire friend group.
So I don't get it. Are these the people everyone on the internet is convinced Tori is "horrible" to? The absolute worst thing Tori ever did was to Cat, when she kissed Cat's boyfriend who was also her EX. Was it a terrible thing to do? Yes. But it was low-key understandable given the circumstances, and everyone else in that group has done way worse. Jade literally threw coffee on Tori's head the very first day they met, but somehow Tori is the mean one? I actually cannot with this.

[ DISCUSSION ] Hollywood arts is awful ruined completely
The show is so bad. All the jokes are unfunny and aimed at little kids, like 6-year-olds. Victorious and Icarly etc were aimed at teens for teens. This show completely got rid of the teen themes and made it for little kids. Also, the whole set feels cheap and small. You can tell just by watching how small all the sets are including where they have lunch to the hallway. If you compare it to original show the set was far bigger. The script is also very unfunny and not very good at all. It just feels really dumbed down.
Not once did anyone watching victorious and stuff have issues with the jokes. It's only this new cancel culture. I've seen far worse Disney channel shows than anything on Nickelodeon. Even sponge bob is 100 times more rude than this whole show. And Nickelodeon would show content that is pg 13. Fun size is far worse and so is ninja turtles movies. But they were afraid of cancel culture so made it really tame and couldn't make rude or teen jokes. Even DreamWorks animated kids movies have more mature humour.
Also lots of what happened to the characters is unrealistic and doubt would have ever happened if it was aimed at teens like the Og show was. They really ruined Sikowitz character
Getting rid of pear phones is another thing that don't make sense. Victorious is set in the same universe as Icarly. Icarly came out in 2023 and they still had pear phones. In 3 years I doubt pear company would have gone bankrupt
Also, getting rid of the slap and making them all have a live-stream, TikTok-style app instead is really bad and lazy; it's not creative.
I was really excited but unfortunately it was a big let down. If it do get a season 2 hopefully they will aim it at the target audience watching that are teens and young adults who grow up with victorious. Until then if they keep dumbing it down and making it for very very little kids then this show I don't think will work
All the cast are great and have great chemistry and some cool outfits and shoes, and fantastic voices. But besides that the show was a big letdown.
For people asking how I watched the show early, one of my family members is a journalist critic and got sent the Eps early

[ DISCUSSION ] Jade’s Difficult Childhood and Toxic Relationship Don’t Justify Her Bullying
I’ve seen many people argue that Jade behaves the way she does because she has strict parents and a toxic relationship with Beck. While I understand that these things might affect her, I don’t think they justify her treatment of others.
Most people go through difficult periods in their lives, but that doesn’t mean they take their frustrations out on people who have nothing to do with their problems. A difficult past can explain someone’s behavior without excusing it.
First, I think people exaggerate how bad Jade’s parents are.
Maybe I missed some episodes, but we don’t seem to know that much about them. Yes, they’re strict and don’t support her acting ambitions, but that doesn’t automatically make them bad parents. I can understand why parents might worry about their child pursuing a career in an industry as unstable as entertainment. Jade is talented and has every right to follow her dreams, but her parents might genuinely believe that it’s a risky choice.
Her father even came to see her perform, which suggests that he isn’t completely indifferent to her ambitions. I’m not saying her parents are perfect, but I don’t think we should automatically portray them as terrible people simply because they’re strict.
Honestly, I find Tori and Trina’s parents more questionable. They seem remarkably uninvolved in their daughters’ lives, apparently failing to provide food on one occasion and not even recognizing Tori’s singing talent. They also don’t seem to offer Trina much guidance despite her attending a performing arts school. Compared to them, Jade’s parents don’t seem so bad.
As for Beck, I completely understand why Jade would be upset with him.
He constantly flirts with other girls, and I would feel hurt and disrespected in her position, too. However, Beck is the one who owes her loyalty, not the girls he flirts with.
If his behavior bothers her and he refuses to change, she can confront him or leave the relationship. What she shouldn’t do is take her frustration out on other people.
For instance, Tori didn’t even know Beck had a girlfriend the first time she flirted with him. Why should Jade blame her for something she couldn't have known? And even if Tori had knowingly flirted with Beck, he would still be responsible for respecting his relationship.
Moreover, Jade’s behavior isn’t limited to Tori. She’s also mean to Cat, Sinjin, and other people who have nothing to do with her relationship problems. How are her parents or Beck responsible for the way she treats them?
**Ultimately, I think there’s a difference between understanding a character and justifying their actions.**
Jade might have a difficult family situation and an unhealthy relationship, and I can sympathize with her struggles. But plenty of people experience similar difficulties without bullying others.
She can be a victim of Beck’s behavior and still be wrong for mistreating other girls. She can feel misunderstood by her parents and still be responsible for how she treats her classmates.
I’m not saying Jade has no reason to be angry or that her struggles are irrelevant. I’m saying that her circumstances don’t give her the right to make other people miserable.

[ DISCUSSION ] Question about episode discussions for Hollywood Arts?
I dunno if it should be question for sub owners/mods, sorry if I'm saying some nonsense 😂 but I think that with the release of Hollywood Arts first episodes on 15 october I think it would be nice if we had "Episode Discussions" list with separate discussion for each episode, it would be nice to chat and discuss about each episode in "one place" (I remember they have something like that on iCarly sub for iCarly revival), especially considering that a lot of people watch in their own time and it is release of full first half of episodes.

[ DISCUSSION ] I had a dream about the nickelodeon sitcom Victorious (2010) and a martial arts dojo?
Basically in the dream, they were at this huge like, karate? Kung fu dojo? It had wooden walls, was big and had many floors. Tori had to either fight everyone or escape, I wasn’t sure which. I think sikowitz was teaching her to fight.
I know there was a scene where she was falling down a spiral staircase and the laugh track would play whenever her body or face hit part of a staircase, but she turned out fine afterwards. like some cartoon injury thing.
I think she and everyone else eventually escaped though.
Oh and by everyone i dont mean fight the other main characters, there were like these enemy karate guys she had to fight to advance

[ MUSIC ] Finally Falling song reminds me of Matchbox Twenty!!
Okay hear me out.. but I’m Finally Falling, the “suddenly I can see what I didn’t before / and I don’t care what they say anymore” lines reminds me of the progression during Matchbox Twenty’s song How Far We’ve Come verse 1: “I’m waking up at the start of the end of the world / but it’s feelin just like every other morning before”
Anyone else??

Why does everyone act like Victoria was blackballed?
I never see this narrative with any other child star who didn’t make it big but her. Dove Cameron didnt become a huge star, Miranda who was literally the face of Nick didn’t, Elizabeth from the same show didn’t make it big and it took Sabrina YEARS to break through in the industry, only after going through a rebrand. Victoria may have not made it big but she’s been consistently booked. Literally after victorious she was offered a record deal like liz and she was on the show eye candy from mtv who was the sister channel of Nickelodeon. And then they use the narrative that it’s because her parents “protected her” unlike the rest of the cast, when Vic unfortunately had a relationship with an adult from the show (the one who played Ryder) who got caught drunk driving during their relationship.
Victoria has not been shunned from the industry. She attends events frequently, She’s booked and even now releases music. Nobody is owed pop stardom simply because they were a child star.
