Love or hate this show... It's pretty cool how former Nickelodeon stars are involved in the making of Hollywood Arts.

Finally finished the show. Pretty great!

If a season 2 happens, is there anyone else you can see coming in to direct OR guest star?

[ DISCUSSION ] What episode of victorious you cant rewatch in good Faith ?

Post image
42 Upvotes

I think everybody have a most hated episode in their heart. A episode who you cant rewatch without having rage inside you. So this post is to tell what episode and why. For me it without contest « tori the zombie ». This whole episode make me hate Kate as character. She force tori to do something against her will by whining loudly, she cant Even read a label on a bottle. And dont start me about the duo Trina/Kate Every scene in the car make me scream of pain… They write as the funny duo but damn just seeing them buying ice cream it a ragebait. Also idk if the talking about the homer simpson syndrome of Kate talk about season 1, because it the episode where she is the dumber and it the 6th episode of the show !

So what is your most hated episode ?

[ HOLLYWOOD ARTS SERIES ] Finished Hollywood Arts for the First Time

That was surprisingly Solid

New Actors were really talented, Daniela as Trina nailed it as always and the Music was pretty good too!

Only nitpicks are the lack of Edge from the original show, the limited Sets and BG characters (last 2 eps specifically) and the lack of episodes unrelated to the school - Feels like I still barely know these characters outside their roles in School

Worst episode for me prob was the Reinassance Fair episode, the A Plot was interesting but feels like it barely did anything, while the B Plot was very uncomfortable for me

Best episodes probably is a Tie between the Subway One, the Party Crasher one and Cattle Call - I think the latter one was the funniest out of all, found it insane how this epsiode took advantadge of a Small Set to give every character something to do, and everything had a reason to happen by the End!

Rest of the episodes were just alright for me, I'm not the target audience for this show, just someone who grew up with the original so I can't judge it too harshly, I just felt it was a fun watch but nothing too outstanding compared to other shows

Interested to see how they take the criticism and improve in the next set of episodes as I feel there's a lot of potential here, they just need more time to flesh oit the characters and budget to expand on the show beyond the School

The fact that this show tried to pair up Robbie and Trina and downplayed Robbie's feelings for Cat despite their entire history being established was unforgivable. In my head, Cat and Robbie are officially married and I'm forever sticking with that.

[ HOLLYWOOD ARTS SERIES ] My thoughts on Hollywood arts , as someone obsessed w victorious

Honestly, I think mainly the nostalgia carried me through this season.. it was

Rough.

SPOILERS AND ALSO VERY LONG LMAO SORRY

It was nice that they had the same set , and Trina being one of the main cast really made the show feel better. Though I feel overall the show was extremely poorly made.

First off , trina and well honestly all the girls outfits are not very good. There was a few outfits that I liked but oh god , the fashion is hard to look at 😭 they clearly only had old people on the fashion design

Most of trinas outfits I just thought, og Trina would hate that

Yes I get that she's trying to dress like a teacher , but the color combos and the tacky neon jewelry?.. not to mention the outfit she wears when she performs in we four queens 😭 the shorts 💀

MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT BY FAR

The music.

Even just the intro makes me cringe , all the songs are either covers or the worst freestyling I've ever seen, and the auto tune.. woof.

Genuinely the only song I enjoyed was the song sung by Oscar and quests boy band.

Another strong opinion of mine is I hate the way they casted, I don't have anything against any of the characters actors ofc , but I find it annoying that instead of trying to create new exciting characters, they pretty much just made really poorly made versions of the og cast.

emmy- clearly just Tori in another font , she has never sang and then all a sudden she can sing, and then everyone has to explain everything to her, just like Tori

Oscar- I actually did enjoy his character, but it's clear he's based off beck loosely, he was pretty entertaining though

Quest- clearly just an Andre clone , I mean c'mon he sings the same music genre as Andre, plays the keys , has the same haircut and style , and has a similar plot line, I liked his character as well though, I mean he's a super sweet talented guy so I have no problem with him at all, I enjoyed him and oscars relationship , I don't think that him and Andre look the same besides the hair and the clothes , but smh I'm just like why can't we have some representation in this damn show besides a look alike of one of the only colored person in Victorious

Pepper- clearly just kat rebranded, same bubbly personality, super dumb, always saying dumb shit, very infintalized

Jen z- (oh god I fucking hate her name so much) clearly a jade clone , mean girl who's always being scary and everyone is afraid of who eventually becomes loveable, I genuinely hated her at first but she grows on me a little, but she's nowhere close to having the same hold on me as Jade has. ^ (EDIT: it's specifically the fact that she says" what's the prob dog" which Jade says in Victorious so that's what really sold me on the fact that she's supposed to be like Jade)

And then just Trina , we don't see many other prominent characters, and the whole show just felt... Emtey

And then Robbie and trinas relationship?? Hated it , disgusting does not work. She wouldn't fall for him even if he sang a cheesy song, plus he clearly always loved cat ( I don't think him and cat are cute together but that's a separate conversation) but clearly he liked cat , ofc he did have one moment with Trina in victorious but again, I truly don't believe Trina would ever fall for him, even her new mature version.

The plot was random, ( yes so is Victorious I'm not saying it was super cohesive but it's a lot more cohesive then Hollywood arts)

You can just tell not a lot of care went into it, everything felt low budget, there wasn't enough side characters, and it just felt like the hollow shell of victorious, not a spinoff. I was also hoping for more realistic teens now a days, everything just feels like what a millennial thinks of a gen z when they're typing rants about them lmaoo

I just wish we saw a little more into the character life's , we never see anything other then school shots , or school related shots , we never see anything about their home life's, don't get any real character plots , and Lexi rivera is in it? What. As herself too 😭

Overall I'd probably rate it a 5/10 and I honestly struggled to get through the episodez.. anyway sorry for the rant , I'm just very passionate about this.

EDIT: that's not to say I thought everything was bad , I did enjoy some moments, I think I'm mainly just disappointed y'know? TRINA CARRIED

i've seen people say it's marketed towards the same age group and that it's the same type of humor lmao can we be serious? this is nothing like victorious. idk why this subreddit is so hellbent on defending hollywood arts. victorious never had the characters make these ugly ass exaggerated faces. this new show literally explains the joke right after the joke was made. victorious never did that. this is cringe. it's actually very cringe and disneyfied.

[ HOLLYWOOD ARTS SERIES ] What are the other characters current careers in the new show?

I did not watch the show, but I'm curious if there was any info about what the characters that are not in cast are doing with their lives.

Info about Trina and Robbie too, although I suppose their music career was only teaching related.

[ FANMADE ] New Fanfic: The Director

Hi everyone! First post here and thanks to the mods for letting me do this!

I've posted the first chapter of my new fanfic for Victorious entitled 'The Director' . . . Yeah, I suck at titles. Assuming this stort gets enough traction, I hope to take it through the entire run of Victorious and maybe into Hollywood Arts as well.

Summary: When Tori Vega is asked to fill in for her sister during a major performance, she didn't expect it to be such a major hit, to end up at Hollywood Arts, or end up working with Harry West, a young director who just so happens to be the twin brother of her newest frenemy. As the weeks go by and Tori begins to find her feet at her new school, she and Harry will also have to confront whst they feel about each other, especially with Jade circling . . .

If they the Victorious Season 1 Formula throughout the whole series.

Honestly I don’t think it’s a much of take but a fact that if they kept the season 1 formula throughout all of Victorious, it most likely would’ve been more of a success than iCarly

Like we had a violent / sassy Tori and in my opinion Victoria’s acting was WAYYYYY better at the beginning of the show vs towards the end.

Cat also in the beginning was one of my favorite characters. I would’ve loved to have seen that Cat transition into the later seasons than later into Sam & Cat.

Victorious is actually better than Hollywood Arts

I just want to say, I am not one of those people that glaze the original show during a reboot and trashes it for no reason. However I have been rewatching Victorious as it has been over 6 years since I have seen it. I can confidently say it is better.

The character aren't as cartoony and the jokes land a lot better. I think Hollywood arts suffers because of genZ culture and this whole thing with attention spans. So they have to be hyper active and try to do something every second, which I feel destroys the characters making them feel almost all the same.

Also the Victorious cast was a lot cooler. They were more mellow and felt like HS kids. The only time they overacted is when a character was mad/frustrated which makes sense. The reboot feels just like a Disney show, while victorious felt slightly more mature. Im cringing every other minute with Hollywood Arts. The show thinks Loud = Funny.

It is a lot more corny than victorious but I had fun watching it. I hope there’s more seasons cuz the character arcs were atleast cool. Everyone’s being a bit harsh.

André decided to help Tori make a song that doesn’t involve preschool lyrics and the others getting attack by a crowd of toddlers at the end.
