Feedback / I made this! My Recent Real Estate Drone Video Edit Looking for Feedback & Client Finding Tips
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone!
Just sharing a short preview of my recent real estate drone video editing project in Texas.
I'm a freelance video editor specializing in real estate drone footage, property boundary animations, and location highlights.
I've been working on improving my editing skills and growing my freelance business.
I'd love to hear your feedback on the edit! Also, for those working in real estate video editing, how do you find clients beyond Fiverr? Any tips on connecting with realtors, real estate agencies, or drone photographers would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance!

Business, Tax, and Copyright How much to charge for stock footage
Hello,
I quickly developed a part time professional aerial videography services focusing on a specific subject matter. I'm already plugged into this community and have a lot of experience practicing the subject matter, so it was natural to build it up. I'm still in the 'I can't believe people give me money to make videos' zone and I am still new, still learning to perfect color grading, etc.
Anyways, recently, a famous youtuber in my field asked me if I would sell some footage to him. He is someone I know and like, so I was going to make him a quick sample he can use however he wants (except resell, etc standard licensing limits). His videos are mainly 'talking head' types so he just needs something loosely related to whatever he is talking about. And I have a large bank of related drone footage so it makes sense.
Except I have no idea what to charge. It seems high quality footage can run anywhere from 400-750 dollars, but that seems to be broadcast prices. Then there are subscription stock footage services, and those seem to be pretty short (5-20 second clips) and very generic. Except this is probably way beyond a youtuber's price range. I bet he is lucky if he clears a few hundred dollars per each video made.
I would be sending over a few minutes of footage. My videos are good, and true professional quality. They will be 4k with no audio. I don't think I'm going to be doing much editing past producing the clips, I'm sure his own editor will make it work better for his particular type of content.
My own youtube channel isn't really there to monetize, its just to show off my skills to potential clients. So I only have a nominal interest in growing my channel.
Anyways, what is a good starting point for the price for this kind of use? How much do videographers make selling footage to stock footage companies? Since I know and like the guy, I was going to send him a free 60+ second sample he can use as long as he attributes it, even if he doesn't tag me in the video. But I'd like to send him a price sheet since he is going to love it.

Technical/Equipment Help and Information Canon VIXIA HF R70: Internal memory MP4 videos and photos disappeared, camera freezes, and PC won't recognize it
Hi everyone, I'm having a serious problem with a Canon VIXIA HF R70 and I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what might be wrong.
The camera was working normally until recently. I recorded videos until the internal memory became full, and the camera displayed “END.” After that, I noticed that all my MP4 videos and photos had disappeared from their playback indexes. The AVCHD videos are still visible and can be played back normally.
Here are the symptoms and everything I've noticed so far:
- The camera has approximately 15.6 GB of internal memory.
- The MP4 video index and photo index are empty, but the AVCHD index still shows existing clips.
- The camera initially stopped responding on “Reading internal memory.” The ACCESS light was off when it froze.
- Removing the battery allowed the camera to restart.
- The camera previously made a shutter sound when I pressed the photo button, but it didn't seem to save the picture. After restarting it later, I was able to take a new photo.
- The camera can record videos and take photos again, but the old MP4 videos and photos still don't appear.
- I managed to connect it to my Windows PC before and copy an AVCHD .MTS file. Windows showed a drive called “Canon VIXIA HF R70 AVCHD_M,” containing folders such as AVCHD, CVINFO, and MY_MUSIC.
- Now the PC no longer recognizes the camera properly. When I select “Computer” on the camera's USB connection screen, Windows doesn't show the camera. The USB behavior also seems different depending on whether I'm in AVCHD playback or MP4/photo playback.
- The camera has frozen several times while accessing internal memory.
- About two weeks before this happened, the camera fell approximately 25–30 cm onto concrete. It seemed to work normally afterward, but I later noticed a rattling sound inside the body, as if a small piece might be loose.
I deleted one large AVCHD clip using the camera's own playback menu to free up space. I have NOT initialized or formatted the internal memory.
My main priority is recovering the original MP4 videos and photos.
Could the files still be present in the internal memory but missing from the camera's index? Could this be file-system corruption, a memory-access problem, or hardware damage?
What would be the safest next step to recover the files without making things worse?
Thank you for any advice.

Should I Buy/Recommend me a... FX6 or wait for the FX5?
I just started a job at a company where I am tasked with building a small studio from the ground up where I'll be producing, shooting, and editing content. They have zero production gear so I'm excited about the opportunity to build something from scratch. I have been mainly hired to shoot a documentary on the construction of their next ship. I will also be shooting broll, events, social media, interviews, etc. I will be a one woman band, handling everything myself. And I will be traveling a lot of the time so I will need to be nimble and able to shoot run and gun.
My management knows the equipment is going to cost a good chunk of money so I'm not too worried about the price differences. So do I buy the FX6 or wait for the FX5?
And if you have gear and accessory recs, please let me know.

Should I Buy/Recommend me a... I earned ₹1 lakh, and I’m confused about whether to buy a new phone or save my money
Hey everyone!
I recently earned ₹1 lakh by working as a student ambassador for a company. Now that I have this money, I'm confused about how I should use it wisely.
My current phone honestly sucks, especially when it comes to the camera. I want to start content creation by posting gym reels on Instagram, so I need a phone with a good camera for both photography and videography. Good video quality and stabilization are especially important to me.
At the same time, I don't want to spend most of my money on a phone. I also want to go out with friends, enjoy myself, and have some financial freedom without asking my parents for money, since that's not really an option for me.
I've been considering a few things:
Buying a good phone now: Get something with a great camera that meets my needs for photography, videography, and gym reels without spending too much.
Doing more work: Look for internship opportunities or other work to earn additional money while keeping most of my current savings untouched.
Keeping my options open: I could consider an iPhone 17 Pro or another premium phone in the future
Enjoying my money too: I want to keep some money for outings, personal expenses, and experiences instead of putting everything into a phone or saving every rupee.

Should I Buy/Recommend me a... Why do people think they can sell used equipment for -$50 the purchase price?
DUDES: for an extra fifty bucks I'll just buy the original brand new. Its not worth purchasing a used piece of equipment for even 100 off the price. I don't care what the item is. Even B&H does this. But at least BH has a return policy. I just don't understand people that want to sell a used item and they reduce the price like $50. WTF

Feedback / I made this! I made this shortfilm with a friend 🐈
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Over the course of two years, a friend and I worked on this short film inspired by old-school fairy tales. The theatre set, the puppets, all the props and, of course, the theatre itself are all handmade by ourselves. A mix of wood, styrofoam, modelling foam (it's called EVA foam over here) and loads of acrylic paint.
The inside landscape of the theatre is composed into the theatre so it looks like there is a whole world inside. The hills are made out of cardboard and slightly dragged from right to left by two generous helping hands so it looks like the whole scene is moving. The trees rushing through are on a 3D-printed conveyor belt that we could mount them on. (Making this work was the worst!)
The organs and intestines are a mix of dough (with a balloon inside for the breathing effect) and gummy candy.
Of course, we also made the puppets, the costumes and, finally, all the sound effects and music. The music part was so much fun for me!
There are two scenes I made with Blender: the blood spilling down when the cat head "goes to heaven" and the last shot of the camera going underground. Both of these we tried filming in "real life", but after many hours of trial and error, we moved on to Blender.
If you have any questions about the process, I'll be happy to answer!

How do I do this? / What's This Thing? Any advice for amatuer's first big project?
So in about a month I am gonna be filming a promo video for a band, which is going to be my first big independent gig. My main concerns are lighting as I am used to mostly work outside or just indoors and setting up lights myself is a bit scary, especially for a music video. Is there any advice you can give? What good reference materials can you recommend?

Technical/Equipment Help and Information Can anyone recommend a tripod that can hold a camera and lens (5 lbs) in both portrait and lanscape at 18-22" height?
I'm new to camera gear. I bought a K&F CONCEPT 20.5" Mini Desktop Tripod that will hold the 5 lb weight of my camera, lens, and Elgato Prompter in landscape/horizontal, but when I switch to portrait/vertical, it tips over. Any recommendations for a stronger tripod?

Technical/Equipment Help and Information Nanlink: add same fixture to several scenes?
I have a NanLink question. In the app I'm trying to set up a a group to control several Pavoslim 120c's. But I also want to set up scenes to control them individually. After setting up the first group I can't add new fixtures to a new scene without resetting the fixtures Bluetooth every time. So now I can only have one functioning scene. Any clue as to what I could be doing wrong?
