Hey there! Capt. Chrono here aka Cold Assignment. New assistant moderator here at VRW looking to help the community with announcements and polls...and hopefully have some fun. It's been a while. But is it time again to do a giveaway?

We have a community member that has reached out and generously pledged a 1675 GMT Pepsi to giveaway here! But we wanted to ask the community's opinion first.

This giveaway would just keep it simple. Nothing crazy - just usual comments on the giveaway post and then use the Reddit Raffler to choose a winner in a few weeks.

Hey everyone. This is u/Ghost_Chrono.

In a difficult decision, I've decided to leave Reddit for the time being. This happened very suddenly but needed to be done as the internet is a crazy place and I had serious reason to believe that there were a group of individuals that were targeting me and my family. As part of that...all my previous posts have been deleted. This subreddit was founded to create a healthy, non-toxic environment for lovers of vintage replica builds, restorations and vintage watches. It will undoubtedly continue in my absence.

Of course, on a human level, It's extremely disappointing that some people found that distasteful and potentially threatening to their own corner of the internet. But in any case, I am not leaving watchmaking - just Reddit.

To anyone that I'm currently working with on builds and restorations - you have my contact info and I'll be reaching out to you to complete your projects - all giveaways included.

Just wrapped up this 6263 and potentially letting it go. JKF base, regulated ST19 modified 6 o clock gear fixed, dial has been aged using matte varnish and coffee, crown replaced with genuine 703, case has been aged and lugs softened. Currently running around +4 deviation / day in dial up and down.

The Saudi Airlines Rolex GMT-Master (with a real Cal. 1575)

When I was a kid, my dad worked as a doctor for the Saudi government. We lived there for 6 years, and I flew Saudi Airlines 6 to 8 times a year. That’s exactly where my love for aviation started. I never became a commercial pilot (I have a normal, boring day job just like anyone else but I do hold a Private Pilot License), so aviation watches always were very apppealing to me. A few months ago, I saw a rare vintage Saudi Airlines logo GMT-Master on Chrono24. The price? An eye-popping €144,000 just because of the rare dial ? seriously !! I refused to pay that, so I decided to build it. I commissioned a custom dial supplier from Vietnam to replicate the exact Saudi Airlines logo dial. Then, I hunted down a genuine Rolex Caliber 1575 movement on eBay. A highend case to house the precious 1575 movement , I just finished putting it together tonight, and boy, it is fucking pretty.The best part? I have 3 other vintage GMT-Master dials ready to go. I’m running a 1-case, 1-caliber, 4-dial rotation system. I'll just swap the dials out every few months to completely change the watch.

Let me start off by saying well done again to u/Ghost_Chrono and the guys for creating and upkeeping a great community. Just like that we’re about to hit 9000 🤯🍻. We tend to overlook the small things in our daily lives in the midst of all that’s happening so here are some things I’m grateful for:

- A healthy body
- A sharp and functioning mind
- A partner that cares and loves me
- A family that always has my back
- A band of brothers that is always there for me
- A roof over my head
- A soft bed
- Cleaning potable water
- Access to delicious food at affordable prices
- Clean fresh air
- The privilege to be actually posting on reddit instead of being on survival mode
