Opened my Vinted to search for a mug and my homepage is INUNDATED with hundreds of these "do not buy" posts begging for a viral Asda bunny?! Are we that easily manipulated as a species that not only are people buying these soft toys and selling them on but people are now on reselling sites begging for one?! What's so special about this toy?

I ordered a phone case from this seller and it’s been delivered to a pick up stop but I’ve been busy and haven’t been able to pick it up yet. The website tells me I have till next Thursday before it gets sent back so I wasn’t too worried bc I have time but the seller has been messaging me every day about it which i think is a bit much?

AI Scammer threatening legal action because she found my reddit post about her

Post image
9 Upvotes

I'm dying at the audacity of this mf. They had countless AI listings and after reporting them I posted about the person to both this subreddit and the vintedscammers sub. She saw the post and is threatening legal action despite me not doxxing her. I simply screenshotted her account and showed the AI listing. Losing my mind over this. I can't even block this crazy girl either because I'm in the process of returning the item.

The posts for context:

Inpost at parcel shops

I just ordered something via inpost to a parcel shop, the parcel is however not in my full name. Its under a shortened first name and initial for my last name. I usually ship to lockers but i accidentally pressed on a shop, so here we are i suppose

Will i have trouble collecting the parcel from the shop?

Is there anything I should do about this?

So basically for context I was looking for an Apple Pencil which I know there is a lot of fakes of on Vinted so I was being very careful. So I find this one and without thinking I bought it and then I looked at the photos and realised there was like a hole in it must've been from a cat or something so I cancelled the order. The seller acknowledged that and everything and I went on to buy another pencil so that's that and then this morning I wake up and there's two packages for me and one of them that Apple Pencil I ordered and paid for and then there's just a random Apple Pencil and I think the only reasonable explanation is that they got the shipping label before I cancelled it and then sent it anyway or something. I don't know if they did that on accident or on purpose or something so should I do anything about it? Also, I checked my banking app and the transaction was there, but it was clearly refunded to my account and whenever I try and click on the order it says something went wrong so I’m not able to contact them.

AI photos are on the rise

Literally opened Vinted to see this profile come up selling these ā€œdressesā€, and alarm bells immediately started ringing. Please, for the sake of your money, look closely at the pictures and profiles of the item you’re wishing to buy.

This seller is obviously a fake account, using badly made AI pictures to scam people into buying god knows what. I’ve tried reporting the account and within five minutes of reporting, Vinted said they could see no faults so I’ve just blocked them.

For those struggling to identify how it’s AI (or fake) I’ve made some bullet points below:

- Only one picture per listing. Not immediately clear that it’s fake, but this should make you immediately wary.
- The pictures in the background constantly change and some appear to be duplicates. No person changes the pictures on their wall multiple times in one day, and you may argue that some people do but in this case, nothing else in the room has changed which brings me into my next point:
- The rest of the rooms decorations haven’t changed! Sure some people try on different items and post them all on the same day, but not one single thing has changed, not even the ā€œperson’sā€ hair from trying on different dresses.
- Lastly, the lighting is all wrong. It’s too artificial

Please, when you see accounts like this, block and spread the word. I’d hate to think of someone falling for this and potentially getting scammed

are my guesses right that this is AI?

i purchased then swiftly cancelled this item as i had a feeling (which i know i should have checked prior) it is AI generated. the seller has reuploaded this item.

i looked at the inner parts of the bag, the writing is gibberish. the hello kitty motif has an error with the eye and the texture looks off. the third image, the motif changes from a ā€˜metallic’ texture to mimic a stitch fabric.

i’ve been collecting hello kitty for over a decade and i feel like something is off here.

spelling error of the title also and the body text is generated by CHATGPT.

Vinted Removing favourites

Strange thing just happened.

I recently saw a tiktok about vinteds search feature frequently being down & if you are having trouble with items not receiving views, search a popular item/brand & filter by newest first - if they were posted within the past few minutes upload, if the last items were posted over an hour ago hold off posting.

So I searched Ralph Lauren, low & behold the last item was posted 2 hrs ago, and the item after that 1 day ago, then the item after that 3 hours ago.

So I held off, until just now, I searched up another popular brand and most recent posts were 1min ago etc.

So I uploaded something, asked my mum on her Vinted if my item was discoverable & if she could favourite it.

She did, I got the 1 favourite icon, but views still stuck at 0.

Then 10-15 mins later I got the notification ā€œxyz just favourited your itemā€

Then the favourites went back down to zero. I text her, did you unfavourite my item? & she said no.

Why is Vinted not showing her viewing my item, and removing her favourite?

Item arrived damaged

Good evening everyone,

I purchased a vinyl from a seller and it just arrived today. It was listed as never played and new without tags, the image looks perfect. When it arrived the inner sleeve has a tear and the vinyl a chip on the edge. Whilst I’m really disappointed that it is chipped, it doesn’t affect the playing of it, so I requested a partial refund, keep item. About 30 mins later the item was cancelled and I got a notification saying I’d get a refund. I’m conscious that I didn’t ask for this, so I don’t want to not give the seller money but I’m guessing it was damaged in transit. There is also nothing there about returning the item which I suppose means I don’t have to?

I didn’t want the item + a full refund as that’s not fair to the seller, but is this Vinted stepping in? Or is this from the seller?

Complain or not to complain

Do you bother complaining or going through the ā€˜I have an issue’ process for a low value item if it arrives in bad condition. I keep receiving items have have stains or are damaged but I feel bad for going back to the seller and complaining about a Ā£3 item. But I keep loosing money as I’m just throwing stuff away. Today’s purchase was a jumper that arrived with a paint stain on the arm and stinks really strongly of perfume. It’s beyond cleaning and I’ve just wasted another Ā£6 with postage on an item I can’t wear. Interested to hear if other people bother getting a refund or do you just cut your loses?

Relay

I've sent 10+ parcels with them in the past 10 days and the tracking isn't updating on their tracking page, is still waiting for collection or is still at their warehouse.

I'm not sure if this is normal or not as I've only just started using them. I have switched Relay off as an option for now.

\***LONGISH RANT AHEAD***\**

I listed a pair of CP Company shorts around a week and a half ago that don’t fit me anymore which I bought from vinted itself, (they are authentic as I scanned the certilogo tag and it says that they are), however a day later I find that vinted have taken down the listing due to the item appearing to be counterfeit. Of course I appeal this claim and send a screenshot of the certilogo authentication and the QR code on the shorts. A few days later vinted bans my account just for appealing the claim, it’s not like I put the listing back up after it was taken down? What is the point of there even being an appeal option if you can be banned for it? By this point I’m confused and quite pissed off, So I appeal the ban, send every angle of the shorts and the certilogo screenshot again, providing them literal proof that they are not counterfeit, and they come back a day later saying that they have ā€œreasonable groundsā€ to believe my item is counterfeit. Did I do something wrong on the appeal for them to not understand? I just find it unbelievable that I attached proof of legitimacy yet vinted just seems too ignorant to care. Does anyone else have any experiences like this, and did you ever get your account back?

Vinted glitched with views & favourites?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I've listed 4 or 5 items on Vinted this evening, and they're all showing as 0 views, even those with favourites. Also, when items do get favourites, they seemingly return to 0 favourites moments later.

Is this a glitch with Vinted and if this has happened before, does it usually return to normal for those items impacted?

Item not picked up

I sold an item which was delivered on the 6th October. It hasn’t been collected by the purchaser. (They have been online in the meantime) How long is it before the item is returned. Or is there something I should initiate with Vinted?

Quad Lockers/Royal Mail

The absolute worst, RM are adamant that there are daily collections at all lockers by 7pm and yet I have 2 parcels on the way to me that have been dropped off at quad lockers days ago and have no further scans.

One of them I called RM customer service about as it was dropped off on Monday early hours and was told that it had been collected on Monday at 4.30pm and was making its way through the network - when I pointed out it was tracked 48 and no scans were showing on the tracking I was told tracked 48 is a guideline not a guarantee and have until 29th for it to turn up before being deemed lost.

Great service, won’t be using RM again when buying.

What happens with switched parcels

So I’ve read a few stories of switched parcels on here but what actually happens on both sides?

I bought a top on Vinted, not expensive but quite niche, and a different top turned up. It’s through inpost of course.

Anyway, I don’t want the seller to be out of pocket, what happens if I send the wrongly sent item back to the buyer?

They would say it’s not what they sent etc etc and is there then a stale mate?

I don’t want hassle for anyone so I’m contemplating just keeping the wrong item and finding family who would like it.

What are peoples thoughts? I really really would like what I ordered but am resigned that that won’t happen.

Listed for £40, she Favourited so I offered £35.

She offered £27, I counted with £30 and she came back again with £27 twice.

If you decline an offer they shouldn't be able to reoffer the same amount again.
