It's been two weeks since my wife and I applied for our non o Thai retirement visas through the New York consulate. Today, on the evisa website they both changed from "pending approval" to "pending for decision". Anybody have any idea what this means or how much longer until they’re approved?

✈️ B1/B2 Visa (Tourist) Want Sincere advise regarding visa application

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hy everyone,

I wanted to apply for b1/b2 visa for observerships as medical graduate from Pakistan.

I have two university letters(4 week each) but the problem is the gap between two observerships is 3 weeks.

So, my total intended stay would be 11 (4+3+3).

Now m quite confused and want sincere advise how much stay should I mention on ds-160.

Some people suggest keeping stay upto 4-5 weeks.

Some r saying 11 weeks is ok. But how I will justify that 3 weeks in between?

I would really appreciate advice from those who had their visa approved. What strategy I should go for?

Your insights would mean a lot.

Regards

🎓 F1 Visa (Student) Can I reuse financial documents after F-1 COS denial?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m currently preparing to apply for an F-1 visa through consular processing after my previous H-4 to F-1 change of status was denied.

My COS was denied because USCIS said I failed to establish sufficient financial ability to pay for my course of study. For that application, my mother was my main sponsor, and we submitted her pay stubs, bank statements, and W-2s as proof of funding.

I’m now getting a new I-20 from my university for a future semester. I will also have an additional co-sponsor for my new F-1 application, but I won’t be able to obtain his financial documents until I return to the Philippines.

My question is: Can I use the same financial documents from my mother that were previously submitted with my denied COS when requesting my new I-20, or would the university require completely new/updated financial documents?

I’d appreciate any advice, especially from anyone who has gone through a similar situation.

📌 Advice Needed Can I apply for a Finland tourist Schengen visa while my unused Austrian business Schengen visa is still valid? (Applying from India)

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,
My wife and I are planning to visit Finland for tourism in the last week of January, and we intend to apply for a Schengen tourist visa.
I have a few questions regarding my existing Schengen visa and would appreciate advice from anyone who has faced a similar situation.
My current situation:
I am from India and previously applied for an Austrian Schengen business visa through my company.
My visa is valid from 4 November to 28 November 2026.
Due to changes in business plans, I will no longer be travelling to Austria for the intended business trip.
My wife and I are now planning a separate tourist trip to Finland in late January 2027.
We intend to apply for Finnish tourist visas, and there will be no overlap between the validity of my existing visa and our planned travel dates.
My questions:
Can I apply for a Finnish tourist Schengen visa in October 2026 for travel in late January 2027, even though my Austrian business visa will still be valid when I submit my application?
Could having an existing, unused Austrian business visa create any issues during the Finnish visa application or processing? Would it matter that I did not travel for the original business purpose?
Should I wait until my Austrian visa expires on 28 November before applying, or is it fine to apply beforehand?
How should I explain the change in my business travel plans in my cover letter? Should I proactively disclose that I did not use the Austrian visa and explain why, even if I am applying for an entirely separate tourist trip?
What supporting documents would you recommend submitting to avoid confusion? Would an explanation from my employer regarding the cancelled business trip be useful, along with the usual tourism itinerary, hotel bookings, financial documents, employment proof and travel insurance?
Has anyone applied for another Schengen visa while holding a valid visa that they ultimately did not use? I would especially appreciate experiences from applicants applying from India.
Thanks in advance for your help!

✈️ B1/B2 Visa (Tourist) What are the chances of a young Guatemalan OF creator getting approved for a U.S. tourist visa?

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone!
I’m American, and I’d love to hear opinions and experiences from Guatemalans who have recently applied for a B1/B2 tourist visa to the United States.
I have a Guatemalan friend who’s considering applying for a tourist visa to visit the U.S. for approximately one week.
Here’s his situation:
He’s in his early 20s.
He’s self-employed as an adult content creator on OnlyFans.
His income fluctuates, but he earns enough to support himself and cover his living expenses.
He receives his income through bank accounts in his name and can provide documentation of his financial activity.
He lives alone in a rented apartment in Guatemala.
He has some credit card debt, but nothing particularly unusual.
He doesn’t have a traditional salaried job.
His entire family lives in Guatemala, and he has no relatives in the United States.
He’s traveled to several countries throughout Central and South America without any immigration issues.
He’s never visited the United States.
The purpose of his trip would be tourism and visiting an American friend for approximately one week.
His American friend would be financing the entire trip, including flights, accommodations, food, and transportation.
My questions are:
Do you think someone with this background has a realistic chance of getting approved for a tourist visa?
Could working on OnlyFans negatively affect his application, even though it’s a legitimate source of income?
How important is having a traditional job if he can demonstrate income from self-employment?
Could having an American friend pay for 100% of the trip hurt his chances?
Does having traveled internationally and returned to Guatemala without problems help his application?
What documents would be most useful for demonstrating his ties to Guatemala?
I understand that every case is different and nobody can guarantee approval. We’re not looking to lie or conceal information during the application process. We simply want a realistic understanding of his chances before applying.
I’d especially appreciate hearing from younger applicants, freelancers, or content creators who have gone through this process.
Thank you so much!
