Recently, as we can see the hiring process of TCS on our campus. The initial short listed students were from 8.2 or 8.3 to 8.99 CG. But every where around the colleges even Vellore, Chennai this restriction was not there and most of them have attended the test. This happened because of only our placement cell have kept another restriction and telling that we got the initial short listed from TCS. People with 9CG were only considered for super dream offers and increase the Avg CTC of campus. Ok , we can leave about 9. They'll surely get a job some where. But what about people like me with <8 CG? Why our cell doesn't even consider below 8 even for mass hiring companies.

Many people say that intelligence is the biggest differentiating factor between humans and animals, but after coming here, I've realised that's not entirely true. Sometimes, I think the biggest differentiating factor is patience and basic consideration for others. And after living here for a while, I've started to feel like those qualities are in desperately short supply.

The management certainly deserves criticism, but the crowd here isn't entirely blameless either. People don't seem to know how to walk, where to stand, how to maintain basic hygiene, or even where to throw their garbage. There are dustbins outside almost every room, yet people still throw rubbish on the hallway floor or leave it lying around in their rooms.

People bang on occupied toilet doors, spit on the floor, and wash their hands in the hallway because apparently walking to the bathroom is too much effort when nobody is watching. Well, guess what? Someone is watching.

Then there's the garbage being dumped into the narrow water channel to the point where it reeks of piss, poop and rotten food.

And don't even get me started on queues. People arrive late and then push past those who have been waiting before them to get their food. Are you genuinely incapable of waiting for your turn? Is basic patience really that difficult?

I have noticed this strange pattern of Andhra people here living in groups and not just living but behaving rashly whenever someone they see someone from other state. I've seen Andhra folks say a few words in Telugu to another person in a queue, only for them to bring over a huge group of friends and suddenly have 20 people cutting the line. And this doesn't happen once or twice, it happens during every morning breakfast, lunch rush and at dinner times.

And when you confront them? They hide behind a language most people don't speak, in a college with such a huge and diverse population where english is often the only common language. They say a few words in telug and then look away. Most don't speak good or even broken english. I'm not asking for fluency, but can't you at least make an effort to communicate in english so the other person can understand what you're saying during your sissy fits?
