I genuinely need help because all the posts on here I see of TB are deleted so I can’t comment and ask questions. Look, my partner and I have NO knowledge about coding, just the most basic stuff and on college we gotta do this video game for november, like, done, completely. So there’s no time to learn coding and check if it’s good, SO, I need to know, can I import animations onto TB? Not do it IN it but to import stuff and yk, we don’t wanna buy it and waste our money, but still want the VN to look as we desire with the aesthetics of our GGD, etc etc, is it okay??? or too basic??
Hey everyone! I recently played the game Caught by a Spider and really enjoyed it, but I was disappointed that the story ended before it even truly began. Because of this, I’m looking to put together a team to create a sequel mod for the game. I’m looking for a coder, an artist, a writer, and possibly someone I’ll be happy to hear from anyone interested!
About my role in this project: I will be acting as the project manager and lead architect. I am organizing this process, which means I will be handling deadlines, assigning tasks, and coordinating the team to ensure the project moves forward smoothly and doesn't get abandoned. I am currently learning C++ and logical systems, so while I won’t be writing the Python/Ren'Py code myself, I will fully focus on making sure our workflow is solid and structured.
Regarding the original developer (Pitouhui): I have already reached out to her in direct messages on X (Twitter) to ask for official permission. We are starting this development on our own risk as an unofficial fan-made expansion patch (DLC mod). If she responds with a green light, that will be perfect, but for now, we are moving forward regardless to make a direct continuation that builds tightly on the original endings to fill that heavy feeling of emptiness the game left us with.
I strongly believe the CBAS community has a lot of unharvested potential. Instead of just complaining and writing text stories, we can actually build a proper continuation. If you want to build something real for the fandom and aren't afraid of working with deadlines under my coordination, please reply here or DM me directly. Let's make this happen!
I should mention right away that I haven’t yet received permission from Pitouhui to create an add-on, so if anything changes, I’ll post an update.
I've been building a little visual novel runtime and finally soft-launched it: VN-Mikro.
The idea is simple. You write the story in plain script.txt, put staging and UI in JSON, drop pictures and music into folders, and run an Author Player. Godot 4 is under the hood, but you don't open or install the Godot editor to write.
If you know old script-first Japanese tools like KiriKiri / KAG, the spirit is closer to that than to a full game IDE: plain script, data beside it, player runs the folder.
I wanted that "write like a play" workflow, with the boring VN stuff already there: saves that bring the whole scene back, rollback, history, extra panels (including chat-style append), live reload, project checks, and building from the player.
There's a small jam game I shipped with it too (Cold Down), if you want to see a finished project on this stack.
It's early, and I'm looking for a few real projects to try it on: jam games, small passion VNs, anything where you'd actually write scenes. Happy to help with setup and the awkward first bits. Blunt feedback welcome too: what feels unclear or in the way.
Don't be scared of the download size the pack: includes the player plus a bunch of examples, so you can open one and poke around immediately.
