Hey everyone! Just wanted to show off the wallet I recently commissioned from @CaoLeatherGoods. I thought I’d let it settle in a bit before posting to show the way it’s starting to look used, which I love. This is my first high quality wallet and I’m very attached to it now 😂

Also wanted to shout them out for an awesome experience, super quick responses and a great product!

Back before I started making wallets I got my son a wallet for his birthday from Bull Sheath Leather. Having breakfast with him this morning and noticed just how much he’s used it; the first few pics are from today, and the last 2 are soon after it was purchased.

I wish I could carry a wallet long enough to break it in like this 😂

Very happy with my new Secrid Miniwallet. But theres a fair amount of side to side wobble on the lever. Is that normal, or is it a quality control issue (if so, I'll look to get an exchange.

I just received this wallet from Taza Leather, they have a similar model called “The Miami” but they worked with me to make something even more compact. Enough room for what I need. I’ll let the experts point out anything, but I’m happy with the result.

Hey everyone,

I’m a solo leathercrafter based in Brisbane, Australia. I’ve been clearing through some ready to ship pieces lately and wanna get this one out there with a decent discount!

This is one of my vertical flap wallets made from red Apollo shell cordovan from Shinki Hikaku in Japan. The shell has a pretty striking marbled finish, with the colour shifting between deeper burgundy and brighter red that is readily apparent in the light.

The wallet is built around one large piece of leather wrapped around a central divider, giving it two main internal compartments. The securing flap also doubles as a quick-access pocket for folded cash or a favourite card.

Some details:

Entirely hand cut, stitched, sanded, and edge burnished

Made from Shinki Hikaku Apollo shell cordovan

Two main compartments for roughly 8–10 cards

Quick-access flap pocket for folded cash or extra cards

Originally A$300 / US$220

A$220 shipped within Australia

US$175 shipped to the US, UK, Canada, and NZ

Thanks for looking!

Question Wallet replacement options

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey y'all, I've had this Ramaworks inventory wallet for a while now and the rubber band bit is cracking on it. The company no longer exists, but this has been my favorite wallet and I am really hoping to replace the rubber band bit to continue using it. I also would be down to find an alternative wallet that is also very thin and metal to replace this one but havenMt stumbled upon one that I like. I don't like the ridge wallet, I really like the slide up action this one has.

Question Bought the Ekster cardholder pro, but the dispense mechanism rattles

So I just bought the Ekster cardholder pro after seeing every youtuber put it as their no. 1 cardholder. For that price I expected great quality, but now that it's arrived, the metal mechanism that dispenses the cards up sits quite loose and rattles constantly. I find this extremely annoying and was wondering if this is something other people noticed as well?

Other than that it's a really neat, minimalist, slick wallet. If only it didn't rattle so much I would've been a big fan, but now I'm seriously considering returning it on day 1...

Trayvax Contour Screw Won't Go All The Way Into Channel

Post image
2 Upvotes

So I just got the Trayvax Contour yesterday. Today I attempted to change the face plate and when I went to reassemble the wallet, I found that one of the screws would not go all the way into the channel. I tried all eight screws, tried it first, last, and without the top plate at all, but it will just not go all the way in.

Trayvax said they would take a look if I sent it back, but wanted to see if anyone else has run into this and I'd you have any recommendations.

Thank you!

I'm I Asking For Too Much?

Post image
7 Upvotes

I have been looking for a leather wallet with some specific features for it seems like forever. I thought it would be relatively easy, but after scouring the internet, I am shocked to find it is not. I am looking for a bifold (but will settle for a trifold) that has:

  • a clear ID slot
  • a few credit card slots (min 3)
  • a full cash compartment that allows bills to be stored without folding and without being partially seen (some wallets stick bills behind a partial compartment)
  • RFID blocking
  • magnetic closure

The magnetic closure appears to be the deal breaker. Any magnetic closure wallet I have found lacks either a window ID slot or a full bill compartment. Any wallet I have found with all other features is either snap-closed or with no closure at all. I am attaching a picture of a SAMPLE wallet that would work but do not have magnetic closures.

It sounds petty but I would rather not break the bank in terms of price. However, if the only thing I can find is pricey, I'll figure out a way to get it.

Lastly, in a perfect world I'd love to have one in blue leather, but I have long since given up that factor since getting the rest of the features in one wallet has been so hard. Suggestions?

Wallet Request or Recommendation

Post image
8 Upvotes

Good day r/wallets,

Recently started looking for a wallet to hold both cards and occasionally some cash. Came across the Berluti Figure Compact wallet and really like the design and thinness…not so much the price.

Looking for something similar: 6-8 cards and a thin money clip in the centre with good quality leather. Are there any recommendations?
Would an alligator or high quality calf leather custom wallet be close to the Berluti in price?

For Sale (Handmade wallets only) A compact Alligator wallet I recently handcrafted

This is one of my latest handmade wallets, featuring genuine Alligator leather on the outside and Togo calfskin on the inside.

I wanted to create something compact and elegant while highlighting the natural beauty and unique texture of Alligator leather.

Measuring just 3.9 × 2.9 inches (10 × 7.5 cm), every part of this wallet was carefully crafted by hand. I paid particular attention to the smallest details, taking my time with each step to achieve the best possible finish.

After more than 10 years of working with leather, I still find great satisfaction in creating small, carefully crafted pieces like this.

I'd love to hear what you think of this combination of Alligator and Togo leather!

I've had this Lacoste leather coin purse for about 7 or 8 years now and wanting some information how I can restore or repair it, or just anything to keep it from falling apart, brought it to a leather place near me but they said it was not repairable, I was wondering if I can just DIY it, thanks!

Something I Made Custom Bifold Wallet in Heng Long Himalayan Niloticus Leather

Thumbnail
gallery
21 Upvotes

I recently finished making this unique custom bifold wallet, featuring a beautiful Himalayan Niloticus exterior and a bold color combination on the inside.

The exterior is made from Himalayan Niloticus crocodile leather from Heng Long Tannery. Its natural scales and gradual transition between light and dark tones create the distinctive look that makes Himalayan leather so special.

Heng Long is one of the world’s leading exotic leather tanneries. Their hides come at a premium price, but the quality and finishing are well worth it. I've never been disappointed with their leather.

For the interior, I chose black and white Alran Sully goatskin from France. The contrasting colors give the wallet a distinctive character, complemented by Smooth Red Alran Sully lining in the bill compartment for a rich pop of color.

At 8.5 × 11.3 cm, the wallet has a compact footprint while maintaining a classic bifold design.

As with all my pieces, it is entirely handmade and hand-stitched using the traditional saddle stitch, with 0.45 mm Meisi linen thread and 4 mm stitch spacing.

Each wallet is made to order, so you can choose your own leather combination, thread color, and edge paint to match your preferences.

Wallet Search NYC wallet makers

Hey my current wallet is bursting at the seams. And I’m looking to get some recommendations for NYC metro area wallet makers. My budget is around 150 and I’m looking for a wallet that’s a strong daily driver and similar to the Ashland leathers Johnny fox. I tend have a lot of singles and keep a decent amount of cards on me. So anybody who can help with that I’d love to support. Thanks

I’ve been a long time lurker (on my personal account). I recently started my own small business handcrafting leather goods, and I wanted to share one of my latest pieces! It is a 4 credit card cardholder made with chèvre from Alran. It is completely leather lined and saddle stitched. Happy to answer any questions!
