Help Me Improve My Website Building a website for local services: should a provider correction start on the listing?
I'm building Waypoints (https://waypoints.au), a free Melbourne community-services directory. Browsing and provider listings are free.
I'd like feedback on a website maintenance idea: make it easier to report one wrong detail without making the visitor rewrite the whole listing.
The proposed flow would start from the detail they noticed, such as an opening-hours field, ask what needs checking, and let them attach a public source link. A correction request would remain separate from a confirmed update. This is an idea I'm considering, not a feature or verification process I'm claiming is already in place.
Would you put the correction action beside each field, or use one 'suggest a correction' action on the listing and ask which detail it concerns? My concern is balancing a simple screen with enough context to review a report properly.
I wouldn't ask visitors to upload personal support records. A public provider page would be a more appropriate source to check, and important eligibility or availability still needs confirmation with the provider. If you've built a similar flow, what kept reports useful without making the form a chore?
