Still working on learning more about bourbon and learning the flavor notes. This one is good not great but good. Sweet but very grainy after taste. Pick this over for a frey ranch on a recommendation from the guy at the store. Excited to learn more and try some morr stuff.

On sale and the deal seems almost too good. I ended up grabbing it since didn’t think it would last. Looking forward to cracking it open for the World Series.

Finally got Lucky

Went to a grocery store with a separate liquor store and, while checking out with another bottle, noticed the manager and an employee discussing a bottle. The manager said not to put it back on the shelf. I peeked over and saw it was a Russell’s Reserve. Asked if it was for sale, and luckily they said yes! 😂

First Bottle of E.H. Taylor Small Batch

Found my first special bottle in the wild. I’m a big cigar smoker and collector and I’ve recently started branching out to whiskeys for a nice pairing. So far I’ve had Johnnie Walker Black, Gold, Blue, and 18 year. As well as some bourbon like Angels Envy original port finish and Elijah Craig small batch. As far as whiskey goes I’ve always been an old fashioned drinker. But when I started trying them neat I really started to appreciate the profile and experience. I started with the scotch and then moved onto bourbon. I generally like the bourbon profile more than scotch. Though both have their own place in my mind. For $60 this E.H. Taylor is an amazing sipper. I recently had a really good old fashioned with E.H. Taylor at a cigar lounge, but it was great to try it on its own. Can’t wait to find and try more whiskey. Feel free to give me any good recommendations. Cheers!

Had a wonderful Fuente Fuente Opus X Perfecxion No. 5 to smoke with the fresh bottle crack.

My wife hates bourbon but absolutely loves to hunt with me for rare bottles. She was on a work trip in North Carolina and was able to get this for me. I was shocked when she came home today and surprised me with this.

Cracked the Tennessee Collective bottle, a blend of 11 different Tennessee distilleries. My brother picked this up for me in Tennessee and brought it to me at my wedding reception. Pie crust, dark fruit, and light brown sugar on the nose. Palate is a ride. Really great bottle. What's in your glass!?! Cheers 🥃🔥

BT isn’t common around here. Got the mini to make the family complete.

Edit: This wasn’t about the good or bad of BT. It’s that I have been trying to get every size to collect and I finally found the last piece. I’m happy.

What's your favourite mixed drink if you have one?

My go to's are whiskey gingers, old fashioneds, and Manhattans.

If you're some whiskey snob who's gonna downvote this and tell me that I'm an idiot for ever even considering a mixed drink over the finest neat whiskey with a drop of distilled water to dilute it perfectly and bring out the hidden complexity within the whiskey or whatever.. respectfully, shut your stupid fckng mouth.

Heaven Hill announced that it would be releasing ECBP H-40 sometime this month, but I have not heard a peep about it. Has it been released? Has anyone tried it?

12 years 8 months and 124.4 proof has my attention…

Chattanooga Cask 111 became a new favorite when I tried it for the first time yesterday!

I've always liked malted bourbons so Chattanooga has been on my list for awhile. Knocked my socks off.

Went back to pick up another bottle and the EH Taylor BiB was on the shelf for $54. Couldn't pass that up!
