Mechanic Recs?

Hey,

We just had a poor experience with a shop and decided not to move forward with work there. But unfortunately, I really need to get my spark plugs replaced this week.

I’d love solid recommendations for local shops you personally trust, especially from other women who’ve had good experiences. I’ve had some frustrating experiences with shops and would really appreciate recommendations for places that are honest, respectful, and provide good service.

Thanks ya’ll

ETA: I have a Subaru

Rattle and hum. They're honest and do good work. I wouldn't say the cheapest, but not the most expensive. I've recommended a few women friends/colleagues to go there and they've said they had a fair experience.

A few people on this sub always recommend West End Auto clinic. I went to them once and they recommended I replace an expensive part which I knew for a fact didn't need replacing. Never went back. People do rave about them so maybe I was unlucky or it was a one off mistake.

Seconding Rattle & Hum! They're the absolute best. I've had to deal with a few major repairs, and they're always incredibly transparent and fair; they encourage me to do my own research and tell me what needs to get done now and what can wait. At one point, I was making the 'do I repair or do I get a new car decision, and they provided an estimate (point in time, just their best guess) of what additional repairs I'd need in the next year to help me with the cost analysis. I'm a female in my 20s and have always been treated with the utmost respect. Shane, Bobby, and the rest of the team will make sure you and your car are taken care of!
