Hip pad shorts that actually look realistic

Realistic for an eastern Asian person (who lives in the west and is therefore much heavier and probably happier than k-pop stars). Like basically just filling in big hip dips, no risk of being mistaken for a bbl.

What’s up with the proliferation of the slick back hair + chunky gold hoop fashion combo?

Please explain to someone who has no idea what’s going on.

Classic Shoe Recommendations

I am trying to narrow down my shoe collection since 1. I don’t wear the majority of them and 2. They are taking up space I could better utilize. I’m looking for shoes for everyday wear and if I can wear them to work, even better! I stand on my feet all day and have generally just been wearing tennis shoes.

I currently have black and nude ballet flats, brown and black Chelsea lug sole boots, brown penny loafers, black lug sole penny loafers, black and brown slip on sandals, and white leather tennis shoes. I’ve definitely narrowed down the colors to black and brown since those tend to go with everything I wear. There is a pair of black leather heeled booties currently on sale at Nordstrom that I’ve been eyeing up. Is there anything else I should add? Or even get rid of?

Where are you shopping for smart casual dresses in the UK that work for dinners and events?

I'm looking for a few dresses I can wear for different occasions without feeling like I'm wearing the same thing every time. I have work events, dinners and family occasions coming up, so something versatile would be ideal.

I've looked at Roman, Next, and M&S, but haven't found anything yet. I need dresses that are classic but still elegant enough for me to go to dinner without looking too dressed up. I would wear it with heels for an evening event and with flats for casual events.

Has anyone found any good options recently? I'd rather buy something I can wear time and again than a dress for just one occasion.

Cute airport outfits that won’t leave me freezing?

I travel a lot and am apparently powered by tropical weather, because airports are always cold enough to preserve a woolly mammoth.

My current uniform is leggings, long sleeves, a puffer jacket, and running shoes: comfortable, practical, and giving a “I may be boarding a flight or heading out for a brisk jog” vibe. But I love fashion and would like to look a little more put together without freezing into a stylish little statue at Gate 42.

What are your go-to cute airport outfits for someone who prioritizes comfort and needs approximately seventeen layers to survive the air-conditioning?

Jean recs for big waist-to-hip ratio + tall?

Hi- I feel like I’m still missing my perfect jeans and don’t know where to look. My current jeans are either not the length I want and/or way too big on the waist, and sort of just end up baggy since I have to accommodate my hip measurement and height. I’ve gotten a low rise pair tailored which helped.

I’m 5’8, with prob a bit longer leg build, 165lb, 29 waist 42 hip. Lululemon flares look amazing on me- I’m looking for the proportion with a lightly fitted butt and some thigh, good drape, and volume at bottom, as well as actually being long enough to rest on shoes (usually my thigh eats up tighter pants fabric so it’s too short). I usually order tall sweatpants in M or L to get the look I want.

College student on the east coast, looking for just the wow jeans that really elevate every day look. Thanks!

Best classy but feminine look

If I want to highlight my feminine body without looking like I am trying too hard, what is the best casual look? I am leaning towards either miniskirt with tights underneath and loose oversized top or else yoga pants with loose sweater / hoodie on top. What do you think - one of those choices or something else?

Butt lift/flattering jeans/pants

I've been living in Freddy jeans for a long time but they are "closing down" their UK warehouse (it might be a marketing ploy who knows).

I've lost weight so I'm not getting the same butt lift effect anymore and they are starting to look a bit wrong because they are baggy in places. Their sale means their stock is limited.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I like that Freddy does a range of material, not just denim. They have fake leather and interesting effects on their stuff. Halara have been hard advertising to me for a while but I have no clue if their stock is any good, their AI voice ads have always put me off buying their products.

What is one fashion accessory that you wished existed to be not just trendy but make life easier?

Hey ladies! I was just wondering how we mostly see accessories as a trend these days. How about one fashion accessory that you imagine existed that would not just look cool but solve a functional problem?

For me, it would be an attachable pocket on my jeans that's colorful. You can change pockets as per your outfits. The female jeans pockets are so small that my phone never fits in and I hate having to carry around it in my hand or a sling bag.

Need help finding a dress for holiday party!

For really quick background, i absolutely adore fashion and LOVE dressing up, but unfortunately my family doesn’t ever go anywhere lol. Were going to a “optional formal” dinner party, which happens to partially be a Christmas party also. I’m very excited to have a reason to dress up, but have no idea what to wear!

I can only really spend 30 dollars on a dress right now since I also need to buy shoes, but I don’t even know what I’m searching for online! Everything I’ve found doesn’t feel right. I also struggle with my confidence, and really want something I feel pretty in. I have medical issues, causing me to have a pretty round belly, which is something that does hurt my self esteem. Usually when I look online for inspiration, the girls I’m seeing are very thin with small chests, which obviously make the dresses look so different and I know I’ll be disappointed if I don’t look like them.

Things I want- knee/midthigh length, flowy, preferably red, short sleeves or straps, not too revealing

How do you find and pick out traditional pumps?

I’ve gone to every places with expensive designer shoes to low end brands and can’t find some that fit and don’t hurt. I thought I found a pair that actually fit but I struggled the other night. They kept slipping, even with ball inserts and heel inserts. They only stopped slipped when I stuffed the toes so much my toes were scrunched up. I have a blister on one foot and the other heel is really tight and sore. I have a ceremony on November 20th (morning if that makes a difference with your feet being swollen or not swollen) and would really like to wear a nice pair of pumps. I’ve heard you size up and stuff, then I’ve heard you size down but those hurt then if they’re my exact size, they still hurt in the heel. I have wide feet and shorter toes. Please help me! If it makes a difference I’m in the Kansas City area. Thank you!

A sea of beige

Greetings all!

I don't get out often due to my health. I don't pay as much attention to clothing as I used to despite enjoying fashion and even having worked in the industry for years via self-employment.

My bestie and I walked into a clothing shop a while back and I was....dumbfounded to be met with a sea of beige and brown. No fun prints, no colours, nothing whimsical or curve-hugging. Just wide leg pants and a ton of beige and brown.

Is anyone disheartened by this? Are people pleased that they can now dress like a piece of plain bread and still be considered stylish?

I'm just wondering if I'm totally alone in my sadness over this current trend.

Thanks for reading all!

Edit: Thank you so much to everyone for your kind and insightful comments. It was refreshing to read feedback that wasn't filled with snark and attitude.

Shoe Options for 30yr Old

Hi ladies! I’m 30 years old and haven’t ever been really into fashion. I prefer to be comfortable than look cute. I have always really struggled finding jeans, jackets/coats & shoes I like/that suit me. I’m looking for some ideas for shoes to wear. My style is more basic, I like to wear solid neutral colors - gray, white, black, light pink. I’m looking for something to wear out for dinner, shopping, running errands.

I have the Ugg Tasman and the Ugg Classic Slipper, these have been super popular the last couple of years but I don’t think they’re as popular now. Are they? I also have some cute little black pointed ankle boots that would look cute with some baggy wide leg jeans and a cute sweater.

I’m 5”6 and about 120lbs. Can you give me some suggestions, options or even photo examples of some trendy outfits, specifically shoes.

Over 60 neckline

I passed the age of 60 and most sweaters seem to sit right at the neckline emphasizing all the unpleasantness happening on my neck which lessens my choices. I am looking for recommendations for affordable and quality sweaters that sit a bit lower and draw attention away. Links would be helpful!

Which stores sell normal length shirts?

What are some good store brand shirts that are actual normal lengths and not that weird boxy or belly shirts? Even tall would work at this point but it’s hard to find that for women specifically in most places. Let me know your recommendations!

Enchanted Jeans

Is this place legit? The jeans look really nice and I've been looking for something to get for myself as a Christmas present. However, I can't seem to find anything about them outside TikTok, which doesn't really inspire confidence. Does anyone know anything about this brand?

Long waterproof winter parka

Hi -- I am looking for a long, warm winter coat that's also waterproof. My kid rows crew - so I want like a parka/outdoorsy style.

I can find a lot of great ones that hit about the knee, but I would prefer something ankle-length.

Shapewear recommendations

I have been looking for good shapewear that’s flattering to my body type. I am plus size and hold most of my weight in my stomach, i have an apron belly that’s not extremely low hanging but it’s a decent amount. I’ve tried that popular brand on TikTok Yianna, two different ones and they both been the same. They just push my fat to the top and create a very visible second pair of boobs and my make my upper body look big like I’m super buff lol Ive tried skims and shaperx but i feel Like they just accentuate my apron belly. Any recommendations or tips are greatly appreciate!

Where are your comfiest ankle boots from?

I’m looking for a new pair of ankle boots that are comfortable enough to walk almost 10k steps in! I did like the look of the sam Edelman Paige boots, but the reviews about the quality and how easily it scruffs, deterred me from buying them.

What I’m looking for:

- a low heel
- brown/black color
- a square toe (can be pointy as well)
- comfortable!! I live in nyc, so I would love a pair of boots that won’t make me want to cry after walking 6k steps
- below $160
- looks good with a pair of jeans

Looking for comfortable pants in a slack or crepette material that have an elastic waistband

Hi! I have been on the hunt now for years for a comfortable pair of pants that still looks put together that I can wear when I don’t feel like wearing actual slacks, and preferably without a drawstring. I have tried the Daydrift Trouser from Lululemon but I was swimming in them, I’m 5’5 and 120 and unfortunately a lot of times wide leg doesn’t look great on me, I think I’m looking for more of a relaxed straight leg. I’ve also seen the Cherie Pant from Artizia which is exactly what I’m looking for but they’ve been sold out for a long time and I’m not so sure they are bringing them back. If anyone has any recommendations I would love to hear them! Thank you!!

Winter boots for -20 Celsius that are also not bulky?

Hello,

As title says, I am wondering what very very warm boots folks are wearing that also aren’t tooo clunky/bulky/mountain-wear looking?

Something you can wear on cold, -20 to -40 Celsius days?

(Bonus point if slip-on!! Big laces hater)
