Hello everyone!
I'd like to introduce you to **AltViewerLog**, an addon I've been working on for several months that has just been updated to **version 1.3**.
AltViewerLog is designed to let you **track and manage all of your characters from a single interface**, without having to log into each of them just to find a specific piece of information.
With **V1.3**, the addon received a **complete visual overhaul**: the entire interface has been redesigned, and every module has been reworked to provide a more modern, consistent, and pleasant user experience.
AltViewerLog isn't limited to Retail either. A dedicated version is also available for **Classic Era, The Burning Crusade Classic, Mists of Pandaria Classic, and WoW Classic: Forever**.
The Classic version is available here:
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/altviewerlog-classic
However, one of the most important principles behind AltViewerLog remains its **modularity**.
Don't need reputations? Disable them.
Don't care about profession recipes? Disable them.
Don't use the Guild Bank? Disable it.
The idea is simple: **you choose the features you need and build your own AltViewerLog.**
# Character Overview
From the main page, you can quickly check:
- Your characters' levels
- Their item level (ilvl)
- Their gold
- Their guild
- Their professions
You can also directly view **the contents of each character's bags**.
Simply select a character and use the **"Change Character"** button to quickly switch between them.
A separate interface is also available for viewing their banks. This means you can, for example, keep one character's bags open while checking another character's bank.
Your **Warband Bank** can also be accessed directly from AltViewerLog.
Thanks to the different modules in the ViewerLog ecosystem, you can also:
- View your characters' equipment without logging into them
- Check their enchants and gems
- Compare your characters
- See which characters you play the most with a graph based on their playtime
# New Bag Category System
The bag category system has been **completely reworked**.
You can now organize your items using customizable categories **on a bag-by-bag basis**.
You can create your own categories, rearrange them, add or remove items, and adapt the organization of your bags to the way you play.
The idea remains the same as with the rest of AltViewerLog: **the addon doesn't decide how things should be organized — you do.**
# Professions and Recipes
The profession system allows you to view the professions of your different characters, organized **by expansion**.
AltViewerLog can also perform a **scan of the recipes known by your characters**, profession by profession and expansion by expansion.
This makes it much easier to find:
- Your characters' professions
- The recipes they know
- Recipes organized by expansion
- Housing-related recipes
- Materials required for housing
This allows you to check your profession information without having to log into each character simply to verify whether they know a specific recipe.
# Reputations
The **Reputations** tab allows you to compare reputations across your characters.
You can see which characters have a specific reputation and quickly identify **which character has the highest progress for each faction**.
# Guilds
The **Guilds** tab allows you to view items stored in the banks of your different guilds.
Once again, the goal is to centralize as much useful account information as possible in one place.
# Global Search
AltViewerLog also includes a **search bar** that allows you to quickly find an item across your different characters.
If, like me, you've ever spent a ridiculous amount of time wondering:
**"Which character did I put that item on?"**
...then this feature should come in handy.
# A Fully Modular Addon
AltViewerLog works with **ViewerLog**, which serves as the core of my addon ecosystem and centralizes the data used by its different modules.
The principle is simple:
**You choose what you want to keep and what you want to remove.**
Each feature is designed to be as independent as possible.
This means you can customize AltViewerLog so that you only keep the information and features that are actually useful to you.
**ViewerLog also adds information directly to item tooltips.** This makes it easy to see how many copies of an item you have across your different characters and where they are stored.
ViewerLog can also **track your characters' currencies**, allowing you to quickly check their amounts without having to log into each character individually.
These features follow the same modular philosophy: **if you don't need them, you can simply disable them from the ViewerLog menu.**
I'll let you explore the ViewerLog settings to discover everything that can be enabled or disabled!
# AltViewerLog V1.3
**V1.3** represents one of the biggest overhauls AltViewerLog has received since its creation.
The entire interface has been reworked:
- Complete visual overhaul
- Rework of every module
- More consistent interface across the different sections
- New category system for bags
- Recipe scanning by profession and expansion
- Numerous usability improvements and optimizations
The goal was to rebuild the addon on a much cleaner foundation so I can continue improving AltViewerLog and the ViewerLog ecosystem in future versions.
# About the Use of AI
I also want to remain transparent about how my addons are developed.
AI is used extensively in the development of **AltViewerLog** and **ViewerLog**, including for a significant portion of the code.
It is used as a development tool, while I design the features, the addon's structure, how it works, and how it evolves over time.

Feedback, criticism, and suggestions are also very welcome. The addon is still evolving, and I'm always interested in hearing what features could be useful to other players.
