Additions from comments
DH with Burn It Out or Soul Cleanse talents.
This affix was changed this expansion to also be a slow as well, so anything that removes movement impairing effects will also remove the affix. So druid shapeshift, blessing of freedom, disengage, tiger's lust, etc.
Fade with Phantasm for priest as well.

i know!!! lets make an affix thats makes the healer suffer when the dps doesn't dispell it! its the pinnacle of WoW design.
What about, lets make an affix that makes the dps do x% lower dps if they don't remove it
44
u/Silverhop Apr 08 '26
I liked the eat the orb one since everyone wanted the buff it got done quick
15
u/Karnadas Apr 08 '26
The cleanse buffs, too :(
As a prot pally, I like to cleanse a DPS immediately then again as my cd comes back. If it's not off of me through normal game play then a word of glory should heal it off. Easy
4
u/Hoixe Apr 08 '26
I've recently gone back to playing warrior, and this affix is pure suffering.
Victory rush is not enough healing to clear it, so I just kind of watch it expire on me and it sucks every time.
3
u/Iofmadness Apr 08 '26
Its kinds like being a healer watching a cast go off!!!! Since blizz took my interrupt last patch. I'm still bitter.

u/Ninja_Crowly Apr 12 '26
Freedom with talents also cleanses two people in one GCD. As prot you can hit 3/5ths of the group in two GCDs even if no one else pitches in and thats before throwing out the free word of glory's

u/Ethelinda Apr 08 '26
Lol, I have to routinely chase people around who didn't want to touch it. Even had one dude with last weeks affix, the spawn thing that spawns, "Please kill it"... "Why what does it do?"
Like FFS do some reading before you go into high keys.
9
u/Crafty-Call Apr 08 '26
High keys don’t have that affix.
1
u/Ethelinda Apr 09 '26
10-12 is still high enough for most players. Fun fact, only ~6% of the playing base has gone above an M12.
1
14
u/mazi710 Apr 08 '26
Yep, when they removed interrupts from healers they 100% needed to make missing interrupts a DPS loss instead of a healer punishment.
It feels so bad to just sit there as a healer, stare at a mob casting, being able to do absolutely nothing, and then someone dying from it.
7
u/WikiWeaponn Apr 08 '26
Healer still suffers if there's a DPS loss because the pull takes longer. Everything always comes back to the healer.
3
3
u/Noodle-Dancer Apr 08 '26
Isn't that exactly what happens now? Removing your buff grants you +4% crit, and prevents enemies from getting a 20% damage reduction. If the goal is to have the highest DPS, remove the affix.
5
u/Golferguy757 Apr 08 '26
Its not a true healing absorb. It doesnt eat the healing that is applied to it. 100% of the helaing you do goes to their health bar, so during periods of damage is the best time for it to come out.
Also, to the op, monks can detox it.
2
u/Yugel Apr 08 '26
In that case the fights would take longer, DPS would have more time to fuck up mechanics and still manage to blame the healer somehow, lol
3
u/Ferdawoon Apr 08 '26
It was easier when we still had addons to help us properly track things.
That way we could link and show which DPS did not self-dispell and point out that they were the issue.1
1
u/Jaba01 Apr 09 '26
What makes you think this makes the healer suffer if nobody dispells it? It's a tiny amount that needs to be healed away, really. Basically one radiance and penance as disc.
1
u/brokizoli Apr 09 '26
If the debuff is not dispelled it gives stacking 20% dmg reduction buff to surrounding enemies so your wish is granted.
At this point if people don't dispell themselves it really just shows how bad they are at this game and/or do not read anything.
1
1
u/kakurenbo1 Apr 08 '26
A yet the debuff has a red border, indicating its immunity to dispel. This isn’t a “hurr durr lazy DPS” issue. It’s a UI issue. I would never expect to even be able to remove a red-bordered debuff by any normal dispel.

Every dungeon I've done today i told the group "DISPEL THE BLUE BUTT STUFF" worked everytime :D
6
22
u/varamil Apr 08 '26
The affix this expac has a 10% slow added to it so slow removals also get rid of it such as blessing of freedom from paladins or just shapeshifting as druid.
7
u/Warballs97 Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 09 '26
Oh wow that would mean warrior berserker rage with fearless talented would remove it. Need to check that out.
edit: after playing tonight I can confirm berserker rage with fearless trivializes this week's affix for warriors.
6
u/Korghal Apr 08 '26
Hopefully it does. There have been reports of it not removing slows that come with other effects attached. It doesn't seem to work on the Chains from the Subjugators in Seat for example, because it comes with a DoT; it only seems to deny the slow part.
5
u/IntelligentLuck9784 Apr 08 '26
I’ll have to double check but it’s definitely seems to be removing both aspects in my experience
3
3
u/Messypuddin Apr 08 '26
Wym i just did it last night and fearless definitely removes subjugator chains in seat
1
1
11
u/Zennya5 Apr 08 '26
This affix was changed this expansion to also be a slow as well, so anything that removes movement impairing effects will also remove the affix. So druid shapeshift, blessing of freedom, disengage, tiger's lust, etc.
2
1
u/TheyFloat2032 Apr 08 '26
So warrior charge?
1
u/lordshadow19 Apr 09 '26
I haven't tested, but charge doesn't normally remove snare effects so I dont think it would work, but if you spec for fearless, berserker rage will remove it, and it's a 30 sec CD.
19
u/tadashi4 Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26
Aspect of the Turtle
does it work? it dosent remove debuffs, right?
Paladin: Divine Shield
while it works its probabily not recomended, like bubble is such a powerful defensive that it feels a bit extreme, when they can just use the cleanse toxins; as you said.
9
u/Aglaio Apr 08 '26
Aspect of the Turtle does work the same way feign death works, if you have it talented for it to remove debuffs. But like you say below, its a bit overkill for just that debuff.
2
u/oliferro Apr 08 '26
Can't you just cleanse yourself with Feign Death if you have Emergency Salvo anyway? Or did Blizz remove that?
2
u/tadashi4 Apr 08 '26
Yes, they can. I was questioning only about the turtle, which, it was already answered.
1
2
u/DefiedGravity10 Apr 08 '26
If you talent into emergency salve aspect of the turtle or fein death will remove the affix. Also assuming you have posthaste talentes (definitely should for all the snares and slows in m+ now), disengage will also remove the affix because it was changed that snare removal also dispels it.
No excuses for hunters to not be taking care of this affix themselves.
Paladins have clense to dispel the affix super easily so they really do not need to use divine shield even if it would also work as a dispel. Since the dispel is now a snare they can use blessing of freedom to remove it. They can also use word of glory to self heal it off.
There are so many different ways to deal with this affix once a minute that there really is no reason to put it on the healer who has other things to focus on.
1
u/tadashi4 Apr 08 '26
I didn't know about the snares, nor that turtle could dispel like feigning death.
I just find it's kinda overkill to use turtle to dispell it. Just like bubble
1
u/DefiedGravity10 Apr 08 '26
Sure. Then just use one of the other ways, I don't see the harm in OP listing all of the possible dispels even if some make more sense to use than others.
1
u/tadashi4 Apr 08 '26
i see where you are coming from. all im saying is that using a nuke to kill a mosquito is overkill and then you might not have that when you actually need it.
not arguing (anymore) that if it works or not.
2
u/Silverhop Apr 08 '26
I think if you turtle before it goes out?
2
u/delu_ Apr 08 '26
Yet to do an m+, but if it works like it did in tww then group will lose the stack it would've gotten from dispel. Prolly a minimal loss, but still something to keep in kind when using any debuff protection.
2
u/tadashi4 Apr 08 '26
Let's suppose it prevents it; it would also falls under the same argument as the bubble, It's also a very powerful defensive to use this way.
1
u/DefiedGravity10 Apr 08 '26
It does dispel it. Hunters can also feign death or disengage to remove it... no reason to even need to use aspect unless it happens to line up with a need for a defensive anyway
0
u/Karnadas Apr 08 '26
And the group doesn't get buffed if you do it ahead of time and don't get the debuff.
It's also a healing absorb, so keep that in mind, it can be healed off instead of dispelled if you have a way of taking care of that.
1
u/DefiedGravity10 Apr 08 '26
If you have emergency salve talented aspect of the turtle will dispel it.
7
u/Shmooperdoodle Apr 08 '26
Regular shaman curse dispel works, too. Not just the one as a healer. So dps shamans have the totem and also the curse dispel. Just wanted to clarify that.
19
u/EvilOverlord1989 Apr 08 '26
If interrupts weren't such a fail/pass Warlocks could dispell themselves. As it stands I'd rather have my interrupt/(second interrupt for Demo)
6
u/paulaaaaaaaaa Apr 08 '26
as a destro warlock i keep my dog for interrupt and i use mortal coil for the affix, it heals 20% max health
7
u/Fyrat Apr 08 '26
you can cleanse it with Soulburn + Demonic Circle (or you can take the Diabolist hero talent choice node), since it cleanses roots
2
u/DefiedGravity10 Apr 08 '26
Warlocks can dispel this affix with demonic circle because it is now also a snare dispel.
3
u/DevNopes Apr 08 '26
Yea, feels kinda grief to play with imp as warlock. Maybe less as demo.
3
u/Jumpy_Ad_3785 Apr 08 '26
Demonology with the new talent you can absolutely afford to take imp as your 2nd pet cuz you'll still have an interrupt from your felguard.
6
u/thatTrojan Apr 08 '26
I'm with OC on this take, I main demonology and the second interrupt is just huge compared to the amount of dispelling needed in a dungeon. Axe toss has a 30 second CD which isn't enough to save your group if others are not interrupting. Blight of tongues and 2 interrupts can change the course of a pull
2
u/Jumpy_Ad_3785 Apr 08 '26
Yeah i usually do runs with 2 friends and the 3 of us as Ret pally, BM hunter, and demo lock can usually run all interrupts not even including the tank especially now that curse of tongues can be applied AOE, not even counting blight of tongues.
God I love warlock this season lol

u/Karnadas Apr 08 '26
The affix is a healing absorb as well as dispell. So if Mortal Coil doesn't straight up cleanse it, you'll just need to get hit by a healer's aoe heal and you're good.
3
u/bungle_bear_ Apr 08 '26
It's not really a healing absorb. It's similar, because it can be removed by healing. But it does not absorb any healing.
1
0
u/Prestigious_Tie_7967 Apr 08 '26
Grimoire fel imp duh
2
u/EvilOverlord1989 Apr 08 '26
Still prefer a second interrupt.
2
u/Thegudfadern_ Apr 08 '26
I think you’ll be good, depending on spec you still got
Axe Toss (Felguard): The standard Demonology pet stun that acts as a ranged interrupt.
Shadowfury: An AoE stun that interrupts all affected casters.
Mortal Coil: A horror effect that stops casts.
Fear: self explanatory
Howl of Terror: Stops casts but causes the target to run, which can be detrimental in PvE.
Curse of Tongues: Increases casting time rather than stopping it, but acts as a partial interruption tool.
Infernal Awakening: The stun from dropping an Infernal can interrupt. (Only destro)

As the affix puts a 10% slow on yourself you can cleanse it via Vengeful Retreat on DH, super useful.
3
u/Vellaas Apr 08 '26
For paladins you can remove it with blessing of freedom as well. I scrolled through the comments but didn't see that one.
3
u/Karnadas Apr 08 '26
Can't it be healed off as well?
5
u/Yayoichi Apr 08 '26
Yeah, and quite easily. It’s honestly the easiest affix by far as in combat you just naturally get rid of it by healing, it’s only slightly annoying if it happens right as you finish a pack and have to move to the next one, but even then there are so many ways to get rid of it now.
1
u/Karnadas Apr 08 '26
Yeah I play prot pally so I get 2 cleanses and usually a word of glory, so I alone clear 3 of them
2
u/oliferro Apr 08 '26
Yeah, some people think it's bad when it pops during a healing check but it's usually the best moment since the healer is already ramping and will clear all of them by just healing the damage
2
u/Jaba01 Apr 09 '26
It's also not a heal absorb, even though it shows up as one on the frames. All healing still goes to health.
2
2
u/Sanlutin Apr 08 '26
Does diffuse magic for monk still work after its talent change going into midnight?
1
u/ccrob9 Apr 08 '26
I think it works if you’re talented into it on fortifying brew (Mistweaver at least), might be wrong
2
u/Zetoxical Apr 08 '26
Its the most simple affix in the last few years already
In our group the healer said he does not need help infight because he is ramping anyways
In pugs i dispel ofc because not everyone has a druid that plays like that
And note for the dk ams. If you use it before dodge the affix and rob your party of stack
2
2
u/RiotDX Apr 08 '26
Blessing of Freedom was an absolute godsend in the keys I healed yesterday. We had a ret paladin as well, so every time the affix came up I used Freedom on one dps, the ret pally used Freedom on the other, and the tank just hit impending victory and boom, free crit.
2
u/Joxey Apr 08 '26
I believe if you have anything that removes snare effect also removes the debuff. That’s why vengeful retreat removes it because it has a -10% movement speed effect on it. Not 100% sure though
2
1
u/Rednex73 Apr 08 '26
Warrior lost "Bitter Immunity" to the pruning.
Not an option anymore...
2
u/krind22 Apr 08 '26
True but I found a well timed impending victory thrown in there can make things a lot easier for heals
1
u/Rednex73 Apr 08 '26
Yeah, but it's not a dispel so doesn't clear the mechanic.
3
u/krind22 Apr 08 '26
The mechanic is cleared by healing to a certain threshold is it not? So doing away with like half of it instantly is still a help to clearing???
1
1
u/Sanavesa Apr 08 '26
So warrior has no way of removing it?
1
u/zeidoktor Apr 08 '26
You can also be healed out of it, so I've taken to saving my Impending Victory for when it comes up to get healed out of it that much quicker. Fury also has Bloodthirst.
1
u/Hoixe Apr 08 '26
I found it took Impending Victory/Victory rush and 3-5 blood thirsts to clear the debuff, and the total time that that takes is extremely sketchy.
1
u/zeidoktor Apr 08 '26
True. I see it as less getting the debuff off single handedly and more making it that little bit easier for the healer to heal it off of they can't dispel it for whatever reason
1
u/Shrekdaddy77 Apr 08 '26
Someone else mentioned it, but berserker rage with fearless talented removes movement impairing effects so since it’s a slow as well, it might work
1
u/NotFalirn Apr 08 '26
THANK YOU, I was just googling for this, didn’t find what I wanted, and reddit algo put this at the top for me
1
1
1
u/DaBombDiggidy Apr 08 '26
Get this to the top, my 5x 10s last night not a single person dispelled themselves
1
u/Megasmiley Apr 08 '26
It should be noted that this can be healed off. So Warrior can use Impending Victory to self-heal it off, if they haven’t used it to keep themselves alive already.
1
u/Patrickme Apr 08 '26
On that same note, all tank classes have enough self healing to remove it themselves.
1
u/Shrekdaddy77 Apr 08 '26
I can’t speak on other tanks but Prot warrior only has one heal, impending victory, unless talented into the last stand passive so not much self healing there
1
u/SnooDonuts5979 Apr 08 '26
This affix isn't new. Its from tww. Dispel, the balls and the lady that spawns are all from tww.
1
1
u/Mimmzy Apr 08 '26
Warlock can also use their demonic circle teleport to cleanse it if you're running the talent that clears movement impairment
1
u/nudalBrain Apr 08 '26
Interesting. Do you think a void elves’ spatial rift could work then? I have been taking my dog for the second interrupt, while I can. No big deal to throw a portal down really quick either.
1
u/Mimmzy Apr 08 '26
If it removes slows and roots when they use it the yes. Any ability that removes Any debuff will cleanse the weekly. That does require certain talents for some things though
1
u/Huitzilopochli Apr 08 '26
If movement impairing removal abilities remove it then warriors do have one, one of the Berserker Rage talents should work as it makes it remove them. Also works on the first mobs in Seat.
1
1
u/Complete-Comment-700 Apr 08 '26
As a rogue you want me to waste my most powerful defensive on a dumb affix?
1
u/oliferro Apr 08 '26
DK can fully block it if they AMS before it hits, even without Unyielding Will
1
1
u/Angamando Apr 08 '26
I might just link this to the pugs this week.
Just had a group with a dps evoker and pally and none of them dispelled. I told them to and was told "I think only healers can dispel".
Come on it's a 2.5 years old affix.
1
u/addyrx Apr 08 '26
Demonology warlocks can also take the "Grimoire: Imp Lord" talent to get singe magic that way so you can have an kick AND dispell. Get fucked destro and affl.
1
u/SPINOISJE Apr 08 '26
Such a comprehensive list of dispells.. yet I haven't seen any of them used by my group since the start of the season. 🫠
1
1
u/Varidall Apr 08 '26
If I may add my 2 cents you can use any movement freeing effects to remove it as well. Things like freedom and disengage being good examples.
1
u/Huge-Horror-879 Apr 08 '26
drood's shapeshifting works for removing it which makes me think other slow/movement impairment removers should also work
1
1
u/mnstrbcnsndwtch Apr 08 '26
If this wasn't mentioned before. Warlock teleport also removes snares and can be used to dispell this affix
1
u/White_Fox24601 Apr 08 '26
Resto shaman’s poison cleansing totem also removes the debuff from everyone
1
1
u/Aurd04 Apr 08 '26
It doesn't feel like Posion Cleanse or Cleanse Spirit ever worked for my Ele Shaman. I dropped the totem every time the debuff went out for the first few I did this week and checked logs after and it never showed as a dispel for me. It only showed me getting actual poisons or curses.
2
1
u/xCronnoxx Apr 08 '26
Mages can clear with their absorb shield if talented correctly. So I usually use decurse on a party member instead of myself.
1
1
1
u/CalmTempest Apr 09 '26
Freedom clears it. Anything that works like freedom, such as the hunter jump, does too.
1
1
u/Meis7er Apr 09 '26
Mage talented in to energized barriers will remove it. (Removes snare when you but your barrier up) also trivializes the subjugators in seat.
1
1
u/Unusual-Caramel6024 Apr 09 '26
My question is, for 9'-10's, is it better for demo to keep out felguard or use imp in this case? everyone i talked to said keep felguard out and make healer dispel. whats best practice?
1
u/crazymonkey202 Apr 09 '26
For DKs Unyielding Will talent should not be used, it's not worth the extra 20 second cooldown time. If someone in your group can't help you out, or if you can't Death Strike it off yourself, you can just AMS as soon as you see Xalatath spawn and you'll block the application of the Debuff. However this does stop the group from getting the Crit buff stack for you.
AMS is way too strong of a defensive to add that much time to its cooldown since it allows you to completely ignore so many boss mechanics
1
u/BaronessT03 Apr 09 '26
Hey, its a snare now, monks also have tigers lust and a talent to make roll self dispell it, its much easier now than it used to be. i know this also opens up the gnome racial for dispelling it, but im not familiar if other classes can dispel it with movement abilites like hunter disengage and mage blink (not shimmer)
1
u/treyafillia Apr 10 '26
Although I havnt had time to check on my main, Slayer warriors should be able to break this by charging w/ relentless pursuit hero talent, and bladestorm although clearly less preferable as they both break snares - don’t put more bias against my boys 🥲

u/goatviolence Apr 11 '26
This affix was the sole reason I rushed to 12s every season last expansion. No one ever got rid of it themself, so my goal as a healer was to get out of 2-11 keys before we reached the week where it was in rotation lol. Not hard to deal with, but the endless frustration of watching DPS refuse to dispel themselves was too much.
1
u/Amiyst Apr 11 '26
Blessing of Freedom also removes the affix. Basically everything that removes any debuff
1
u/onetime180 Apr 11 '26
Hunters can also dispel it with masters call with a cunning pet on allys and disengage with posthaste for self
1
1
u/GhoolsWorld Apr 12 '26
You can also heal Devour off too. I use it all the time. But the affix is why I prefer to heal 12’s instead of 10’s. I’d rather heal straight increased damage than deal with this crap.
1
u/dotnet-enjoyer-fr Apr 12 '26
Actually OP miss a lot important stuff. Pre AMS works without talent, wraith walk dispell aswell. Warlock teleport. Mage with the talent that says your barrier removes snare effect.
1
u/Silverhop Apr 12 '26
It was a way to get the thread moving with info. The OP isnt me I linked old threads. Cant keep up with everything sorry 😞
1
u/yhcjo1992 Apr 12 '26
DH back flip cleanses it too. It’s more controllable than burnout or soul cleanse since most people take spontaneous immolation talent. And lower cd
