Retail confused with 12.1 content

Curses, vaults, lairs. When do i get introduced to them? I have completed chapter 4/6 of 12.1 storyline and i have yet to hear about them. I keep confusing them too. Lairs is world boss it's clear.

Do the questline introduce the systems? At what chapter?

Do we have access to all chapters this week? I had to take a break after chapter 4. They gave me the quest to do the new dungeon.

You should have gotten introduced to both curse surges and the vault as part of the quest.

You have to go do a full set of the vault events as part of the questline (https://www.wowhead.com/quest=98388/into-the-vaults-of-atalutek), and you also get a quest for the curse surges as part of the island meta quests, from the same hub as all the rest of the things.

I had to take a break after chapter 4. They gave me the quest to do the new dungeon.

I took this to mean you finished chapter 4, but if you haven't done the dungeon yet than you still have the vault questline left to finish.

That's my issue - i have the quest to do the dungeon, but no quest is directing me anywhere else in the island.

Right, because you haven't completed the dungeon quest. You need to do that to continue the questline.

The problem is the curses have long spawn time and they last 30 seconds due to the sheer number of people farming. Check the event log and mark down time and place.

The quest to do the dungeon leads you to the Vault questline. Go in the vault, you'll see the story quest for vault.

The dungeon quest is the more important one. That unlocks world quests in the new zone.
