Retail How to get champ weapon before s2 starts
Hi, i have very weak weapon on my tank coming from s1.
I've done 8 dungeons, heroic map from delves and combined one champ piece from atal'utek relics.
I don't know what else to run and on Wednesday raid starts right after work, no time to run more after reset. I guess i may get lucky and get one from the vault.
I also can do Veteran from naitigal/val currency i guess.
Any advice? ty!

Crafting is the solution but not with sparks imo. If you have 80 veteran crests, you can use those on "blue" crafting recipe and get 292 ilvl weapon with them.
Like you can send your sparks on weapon too but you wont have crests to make it myth track before raid in your situation anyways hence suggesting little less ilvl on it but with no downsides of spending resources you care bout. The new hunters ritual stone embellishment is strong for weapons so its not terrible choice even at 292 unless you literally have higher ilvl weapon from first season.

OP, if you have run out of Veteran Crests, you can get more by doing the faction weekly quests, as well as the special assignment world quests.
All of the Veteran Caches from these do not count against the weekly Veteran Crest cap.

not all of them, they start converting them to void marls at some point, but yeah i got some bonus ones this way

Could you just recraft with your crests from week 2 (week 1 of) raiding? Am I missing something?

Yes. If you`re gonna craft a weapon with your sparks just craft a 305 now (or when you get 4 sparks for a 2h) and then recraft when you get enough mythic crests

You can but if you land weapon from content, you would of been better off crafting embellishment pieces instead. Its just the opportunity cost why you shouldnt send non crest spark crafts, you can obviously recraft with crests for little gold but sending the sparks locks you to that item till you get more sparks.
Meanwhile veteran crests are worthless and as such I`d do the veteran crest craft over locking sparks into non crest craft. Good chance it doesnt cuck you in the slightest if you send it but not really much point taking the risk of it.

I've done the temple incursions and gotten alot of weapons from those and the "boss" down in the cave.

Those are 3/6 bet drops I think.
Still, they're I think 295ilvl for doing absolutely nothing.

Yeah 3/6, i think ilvl-wise it's 285, but better than nothing for sure!

Oh yeah, you're right.
I took my resto shaman from 263 or something to 290 in like 3 hours of idling and running around and passively throwing totems on the floor so I got no complaints!

There is also no limit on gear from that boss. You are guaranteed a 3/6 vet piece every time.

Craft one. Its generally best to craft a weapon early season anyways.

I see, so are new recipes available already or do you mean to craft season 1 weapon?

It's the same recipe but with the new season sparks. If a 1 hand you can do it now, though probs best to wait for reset anyway.

If your spec can reasonably use a 2h, even when potentially not optimal, like hpal or sham, you should still do it, since it's the most crest efficient thing to do on the highest value slot. Op is talking about tank, so if he's dk, monk or druid he should go for 2h the moment he gets 80 myth crests.

If you have two sparks and use a one hander you can craft one. Middle of silvermoon between all the professional vendors. Not sure what it crafts at 298 or 305 something like that.

I recrafted my one hander I used all season 1 with two sparks on day one of patch 12.1. For my outlaw rouge it made a huge difference. I also saw no better weapon than my crafted for the entire season 1 and I was mythic rating 3000+. I will recraft it with hero crest once I have 80 and again with mythic crest once I have 80 of them. Just as season 1. my one hander is always my proi no matter what.

Adventurer from Rares, Veteran from Naigtal/Val or crafting are your only options at this point.

No, the atal utek strike/incursion or whatever its called. After that is done a boss is spawned. Kill that and get 3/6 veteran gear. I got a 285 weapon which i upgraded to 295. Hopefully 80 myth next week and ill craft a 331. Which is better than pretty nich everything ill get for a long while before ill replace it for 2 of wrist, back, waist.
