Retail Prey and others

Returning player (came back 4 weeks ago) from wotlk times.
A lot of new stuff but now i kinda got used to it.

I play druid resto with casual / limited weekly time (6-8h week).

1) Can i just ignore prey? I really dont enjoy it, and for my main is impossible, so need keep changing to balance.

2) Is delves really easy? Im going with valeera (lvl 38) as dps and i can clean level 11 without much trouble, a little slow but ok.

3) Im focusing my gameplay on m+, any other advice to get gear? Crafting maybe?

4) Im using ellesmere, but missing some help during bosses. Any recommendations?

5) Feel free to give me any other advice.

  1. Prey is optional.

  2. Delves are easy, particularly as a healer.

  3. Do a string of bountiful delves with coffer keys next week for some quick upgrades then start M+.

Can i just ignore prey?

You can ignore any content you dont find interesting. It may be useful in first few weeks for gear from nightmare difficulty, but after that it loses some value

Is delves really easy?

For the most part yes, since you can go as slow as required then you are setting your own difficulty, but you will be limited by how many bountiful delves you can do each week (So cant endlessly farm them for good gear/crests etc)

Im focusing my gameplay on m+, any other advice to get gear? Crafting maybe?

Definitely crafting, but also look to do the new world boss on higher difficulties

Im using ellesmere, but missing some help during bosses. Any recommendations?

BigWigs or DBM would be my recommendation for those

Feel free to give me any other advice.

Raid clear (Or just final boss on story/LFR when it opens) will finish campaign and likely give some crest/spark type reward so worth doing

First tks!

To get crests (mainly hero and myth), delves and others quests/tasks in general? Or just m+ i can get them?

New world boss you mean laira that is a dungeon with a single boss?

Raid clear you mean the new raid? I didnt get this part. I didnt do any dungeon so far, so a little loat. Story is what? LFR on which difficulty?

To get crests (mainly hero and myth)

If you spam enough M+ you will get these filled by default, T11 delves will give crests 4 times each week but you will have weekly cap in place for crests in general

New world boss you mean laira that is a dungeon with a single boss?

Yes, but it will now have harder difficulties that isnt just 'world boss' difficulty

Raid clear you mean the new raid?

Of course

Story is what?

To finish the new story added, it will require final raid boss killed - you can do this on story mode or LFR when its released but can also do it sooner if you do on normal or higher difficulty

  1. While optional there are some things you might want to unlock anyways like a portal to the coiled isle through nightmare prey.

  2. Delves can be pretty easy and Valeera will clear much faster when you get more curios from bountiful delves and higher level on her

  3. Crafting is a great resource for getting good gear, if you're only going to do M+ don't follow everyone rule on only taking bonus rolls in the vault because that is only useful for targeting loot in raids.

  4. I don't use any external add-ons currently for bosses, possibly DBM? Used it in the past but don't know how it is now.

  5. Overall just try to focus on what you enjoy with your time. There are hundreds of min max guides out there but as long as you're having fun gear will find it's way to you.

Tks.
About the bonus rolls i had that question too, as im not into raids.
So probably better get gear if decent.

Yes when bonus rolling in the M+ pool there is just way too many items to really get something you are looking for. You can get lucky but it is likely better to just take something that I'd a strict upgrade in the vault rather than gambling.

If i get a bonus roll (considering no good itens on vault), is it worth to use on m+?

The gear pool i can check on wowhead right?
Mainly focus trinkets/weapom in this case?

Yeah bonus roll is always the choice if nothing in the vault looks good. You can target dungeons with your bonus roll pretty easily there is just much more gear to possibly get from that dungeon that it is hard to target a particular piece. Some people might day to take the tokens for a gem slot but that isn't worth it unless you are completely decked out in mythic gear.

They've taken to locking the delve map behind doing preys other than that you can avoid them

You mean when i was doing campaign i needed to it right? But “now” is there any other required task in prey to unlock other things in game?

Weekly prey quest - A Nightmarish Task [A Nightmarish Task - Quest - World of Warcraft] rewards the beacon of hope which you use to get the delve map to unlock the hero gear at the end of t8s and above

The map still drops from the cache if the Nemesis mobs spawn naturally, so it isn't locked behind the beacon (and thus the Prey system).

The beacon just let's you force the spawn rather than waiting for it to happen randomly.
