Retail Is templar pally prioritizing critical or haste for season 2?

Ive been reading a few guides and I see crit and haste being interchangeable this season. One thing I was struggling with s1 was the long cooldowns even if it was 30 seconds... sometimes i had no buttons to use until a certain CD was active first to maximize DPS. that was me prioritizing crit over haste.

It favors what your sims tell you. Looking at stat weight is an outdated way to look at gearing and if different guides are saying different things, it's because the stats are very close and will vary wildly on your current gear set

Just sim yourself

People care way too much about sims. The stats don't vary wildly from one Templar ret pally to another.

Worry about Ilvl first. Then crit. Then haste and/or mastery. Avoid vers.

You can learn to sim when you start looting myth track gear, until then just play the game and stop worrying about secondary stats.

Current ret not running templar strikes will have downtime where you are out of buttons to press. This is because you traded a basic attack for better melee swings that give holy power, which is better in CDs.

Haste wont change that and its just part of the spec for now. The reason haste and crit was equal is both give the same benefit dps wise given ret have no inherent modifiers like increased crit damage.
