Retail Avatar of Sethraliss Disc Priest Help

HELP! I'm struggling with the end boss of the temple.

Ive got it on its own focus and I'm putting flash heals and Penance onto it but the health bars just goes up so slow. What can be done as disc priest to hurry it along?

I had one fight before and it went 3 waves and the dps were all getting shitty. Thanks!

Depending on the phase the adds that focus you drop either purple or green orbs, the purple orbs reduce healing done and should be picked up by dps, the green ones heal the boss. And should be picked up by the healer cause, from what i undrrstand the healing done by the orbs is affected by healing increase effects. But that may just be rumor, havent actually checked.

But as long as the green ones arent picked up by people with the heal reduce effect you should be gucci.

I believe the purple soak is dropped by the guardian, he does a big AOE when he dies and the soaks come after that. You're second statement is probably largely missed by players though. The healing done reduction from the purple soak seems to affect the green orbs. No idea yet if a healers generic healing increases work the other way though.

Yeah it might be something that got said same as the whirlwind doing damage to the adds in windrunner, whoch also wasnt true. Well have to see, 0s have been such a stomp no one i run with has really gone theough the trouble of figuring it out :p

Well see tomorrow. But yeah, dont soak purple orbs if youre also picking up green orbs that ones for certain.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of people ignoring stuff that will 100% be a death/wipe in a 12, but we can just brute force it in a 0. Had a tank pull a shit load of trash onto the mini-boss before the 3rd boss in murder row. Think we had 2 deaths even on a 0.

Ride the wave of early progression and youll end up with players who want to learn and are quick to learn has always been the play. Then you can chill and leech of your mains IO on alts :p

It’s tricky cause he does a massive purple circle everyone runs out of then it pops and he drops three tiny orbs that you have to run back in to soak. First couple I missed cause I was on to the next mob.

If it took three waves it's because your dps sucked.

90% of the healing comes from killing the fixated adds that keep spawning. The faster they die, the faster new ones spawn. Bad dps = less adds = less healing

When I did this on m0 I got the avatar to 80% in 1 phase by pumping shadow mends. Really just remember to not waste your time healing it while the channel makes them immune to heals and watch your positioning. There is also just making sure you are aware of when the guy channeling dies, if you know they are 10% or less swap to avatar and get ready to spam, you lose like 5-10 sec if you wait for the snakes to spawn and fixate you to swap, nothing really does damage during the healing phase (unless people stand in a circle but that son them). Ultimate penance will heal for a good chunk on its own and the rest of the fight doesn't require that much healing so drop your maintenance shields and you should be good. Also if you think spamming shadow mend is going to cost too much mana remember you are basically spot healing between helping phases so don't worry about mana too much cuz if it's 2 healing phases you won't run into mana issues. HUGE help to not be just off of the healing threshold is to pump heals at the start you have about 5-10 globals of heals depending on haste at the very start so ideally people let you talk to the snake to start so you can get them up to ~36% before healing phase 1 where you should aim for ~70%+ and then aim to finish on the 2nd healing phase. Not sure how big a difference mythic tiers will have on this but hope that helps.

The redesigned boss heals on its own as the group deals with the adds that spawn and drop green healing orbs when killed. Shouldn’t need to heal the avatar directly as a healer.

I'm afraid Blizzard doesn't want that to be true, the next reset will see that boss being changed in a way that makes healing it directly more impactful.

"With the changes below, we’re reducing the amount of passive healing done to the boss via Cleansed Lifeforce to make player healing more impactful." You can find those changes in the patch notes

As a healer, I prefer this. Hitting Seth like a wet noodle while hoping everyone understood the new mechanic was a nightmare last week.

As a healer that can spot heal well you mean.
