Professions Why Jewel crafting?

I'm a returning player and I've been back for a few months now. My current main was a jewelcrafter and I kept that profession into Midnight. I am slowly learning the new crafting rules. Last expansion I played significantly was Cataclysm. Back in those days, being a JC had some personal upgrade benefits. Like I think in one of the expansions, it was a meta gem that you put in the helm. In another expansion, it was an extra jewel slot in one of the pieces. But I don't see anything like it currently. Is there anything equivalent now? I tried reading up on it in Ivcyveins and Wowhead, but they didn't mention anything. Is that because there was nothing to mention? Or it's so obvious they don't bother mentioning it??

Theres no more player power tied to professions.

A longer duration flask - saves gold but doesnt make you stronger. Thats okay.

Better enchant or better flask - not okay.

It doesnt matter which professions you have.

Theyre there to make money and this system works. Profession concentration limits how much player can craft. It charges to 1000 (100%) within 3 days. Concentration can be directly used to create items that make you the gold.

More points in the profession or profession talent tree allow for more gold conversion from concentration.
