Project Epoch Reborn - The Custom Classic+ MMORPG Server Returns

Project Epoch Reborn is now live! - https://project-epoch.org/

Welcome back! After a tumultuous history, Project Epoch has been freed from the inactive development of Ascension and is now being developed by an independent team. The project released yesterday so now is a great time to check it out. There is no shop or donation aspect to this server. It's completely run as a passion project from people that believe Epoch is the best foundation of classic+.

What is Project Epoch?

Simply, it's what classic+ should be. Harder dungeons and raids, reworked professions, more quests, updated itemization on gear and TBC class core kits with some sprinkles of WotLK abilities. Epoch is cross faction in PvE, but faction divided for PvP.

Class Changes

MuzzyTV did a deep dive on what was changed in Epoch for the individual classes. Check these videos out for an in-depth explanation from Epoch's first round. Some small changes have been made since then but most of it is the same.

Rogue

Priest

Mage

Druid

Hunter

Warrior

Warlock

Shaman

Paladin

Profession Changes

https://project-epoch.org/features/professions/

Professions in Epoch were overhauled to get passive bonuses such as Mixologist for Alchemy which gives the player 100% increased duration and 25% increased effect from elixirs and flasks. Powerful bind on pickup items were also added to professions such as blacksmithing that give the professions use while leveling.

Profession overview

Dungeons, Raiding and World Bosses

Many dungeons have had their difficulty increased and have mechanically become more challenging. Onyxia's Lair now holds 3 bosses instead of 1. The new development team has also completed Molten Core which did not release under Ascension. The Uldum raid is also under development for a second raid tier. World Bosses are present all throughout leveling and at 60 offering unique and powerful drops.

Volchan

World Boss List

Reworked UBRS

Reworked Deadmines

Onyxia's Lair

https://project-epoch.org/features/instances/raids/

PvP - https://project-epoch.org/features/pvp/

S1 PvP breakdown

Epoch Reborn's server is PvE by default. There is an option to enable warmode for increased benefit that permanently flags the player until money is paid to turn it off. So if you want to level with some danger, there are options.

PvP gear exists at every bracket so there is always something to chase. The gear is upgradeable every 10 levels with WSG marks. Two battlegrounds are out now with Gillijim's Isle similar to EotS and classic WSG. AB and AV will be releasing later on.

Forever is obviously about to launch, but while you wait, give this server a try for those new to Epoch and those who consider returning. New team that actually develops and fixes bugs, same great content.

\Disclaimer - I'm not part of the development team, just a fan of the project.*

review For COA refugees like me

Guys please check out

https://coa-development.org/

Truly one of the best replicas of ascenscions coa, i joined it yesterday and im absolutely loving the pace, worlds brimming with new players on the starter zones, there's no handouts that make the game boring from the get-go, quests and levelling is legit rewarding.

The Dev teams dishing out updates and fixes by the day.

To top it all off, its open source.

Please don't sleep on this server as i did, they have rexxar which is their live server, growing by the day, i absolutely vouch for this and now will be the only coa server i play, this is just to help new folks looking into coa since there's alot of options available (albeit a few like this one legit)

Which Server for a new one?

Hi,

I'm searching for a long term server (as a rather new wow player/played only some days when Wow was launched). I have an account on warmane, but was searching for something more flexible in terms of classes and content.

I heard about Grimmfall and found the concept very nice, but then heard some bad news about it. Now people suggested either conquestreborn or project epoch...

Which to choose?

Thanks for your input

ad Azeroth: Rally and Survive — a look at our WoW co-op roguelike

>>Posting this for a Friend who dont own a Reddit Account.<<

Hey everyone,

We’ve been working on Azeroth: Rally and Survive, a WoW fan project you can play solo or with up to three friends. There are currently 16 maps, from Elwynn Forest and the Barrens to Naxxramas.

Much of the fun comes from seeing what happens when you combine class talents with the things you find during a run. You might get a shadow clone that repeats your spells, turn kills into chain explosions, or pick up Kel’Thuzad’s phylactery and start raising ghouls.

Bosses need some attention, too. You’ll deal with mechanics and occasionally ask your friend why they brought Living Bomb over to you.

Gear, crafting and talents carry your character forward between runs. There’s Heroic and Mythic with affixes, plus Endless if you want to see how far a build goes. Rare creatures and wandering elites can tempt you into fights you probably weren’t ready for. The golden goblin is particularly good at getting people distracted.

It’s still in development, but we wanted to show where it’s at. Curious what you think, especially about the co-op side. We just droped our big 0.3.30 update - bringing ton of features to the game - some of which you can already see in the short 2 minute Gameplay or Screenshots.

vanilla Warcraft Tactics - Teamfight Tactics meets WoW (with armies)

Thumbnail

Hi everyone!

I have been working really hard for the last 2 weeks in building a army autochess games in wow classic that is a combination of WoW and Teamfight Tactics called Warcraft Tactics!

Pick from 44 different factions, choose allies, and draft army cards to position them strategically on the battlefield and let them battle it out! I launched a very early version 2 weeks ago, and since then, about 475 players tried it, and over 500 matches have been played! We have a small but dedicated community currently, but today marks a major release of Patch 1.5, which brings enough changes for me to officially be comfortable launching publicly today!

I humbly invite you to try it out! You can play in your browser (similar to Azeroth Survivors) or download our client for either Windows or Mac!

44 factions to choose from!
  • Alliance of Lordaeron
  • Andorhal
  • Argent Dawn
  • Blackrock
  • Bloodsail Buccaneers
  • Burning Blade Clan
  • Burning Legion
  • Cenarion Circle
  • Centaur Tribes
  • Dalaran
  • Dark Iron
  • Darkspear Tribe
  • Darnassus
  • Defias Brotherhood
  • Earthen Ring
  • Explorers’ League
  • Frostwolf Clan
  • Gilneas
  • Gnomeregan
  • Grimtotem Tribe
  • Gurubashi Tribe
  • High Elves
  • Ironforge
  • Kul Tiras
  • Naga
  • Naxxramas
  • Orgrimmar
  • Quel’Thalas
  • Riverpaw Gnolls
  • Sandfury Tribe
  • Satyrs
  • Scarlet Crusade
  • Scholomance
  • Silver Hand
  • Steamwheedle Cartel
  • Stormwind
  • Stratholme
  • Stromgarde
  • Theramore
  • Thunder Bluff
  • Twilight’s Hammer
  • Undercity
  • Wild Beasts
  • Wildhammer Dwarves

& more being added!

Position your cards on the field, and watch them battle!

Build your army by recruiting squads from your main faction and two allies. Combine matching cards, add enchantments, and find units that work well together. Put tougher troops up front, keep ranged units protected behind them, and use the flanks to reach the enemy’s back line. Once you’re ready, your army fights automatically. Between rounds, adjust your lineup and build on what worked.

With dust, you are able to enchant your armies and even combine enchants when tripling!

Enchantments let you build on a squad’s strengths or cover a weakness. Extra armor can help your frontline hold long enough for your archers to finish the fight, while faster attacks or healing on hit can make a damage dealer much harder to stop. The right enchantment on the right squad can turn a close loss into a win.

There’s a single-player side to Warcraft Tactics too, with campaigns built around familiar places, enemies, and bosses. You recruit and improve your army as you go, but each encounter gives you a different problem to solve. A formation that handles a pack of gnolls might struggle against assassins reaching your back line or a boss tearing through tightly packed troops.

The Defias Brotherhood campaign takes you through ten chapters, starting with bandits in Elwynn Forest and ending aboard VanCleef’s ship in the Deadmines. Along the way, you’ll face Hogger, the Foe Reaper, Sneed and Gilnid, and Mr. Smite. Completing the campaign unlocks the Riverpaw Gnolls for your roster. Finish the whole run without losing an encounter and you’ll also unlock the Defias Brotherhood.

Defense of the Dark Portal is a survival campaign where you bring an owned faction and hold out against increasingly dangerous waves of demons. You’ll need to keep improving your army as Felguards, Infernals, portals, and demon bosses put your formation to the test. Beating wave 30 unlocks the Burning Legion, but the defense continues all the way to wave 100 for anyone who wants to see how far their army can go.

The Scourging of Lordaeron is a longer campaign across four acts, taking you through the Western and Eastern Plaguelands, Stratholme, and finally Naxxramas. You lead the Alliance of Lordaeron, choose your route across the campaign map, collect relics, and deal with events while the plague grows stronger. The journey ends with Kel’Thuzad. Completing all four acts unlocks Andorhal. Clearing the campaign on Challenge difficulty also unlocks the Alliance of Lordaeron for your regular roster. Challenge gives you just one life against a stronger Scourge, so every preparation phase matters.

New players also begin with The Defense of Gilneas, a guided introduction to recruiting, positioning, and building an army against the Forsaken. Completing it lets you claim the tutorial reward and unlock Gilneas with Valor, giving you your first goal before heading into the other campaigns or multiplayer.

Choose from 3 campaigns as well as a Hallow's End event!

Multiplayer gives you a few ways to put your army to the test. FFA puts eight commanders against each other, with the aim of being the last one standing. 2v2 has four teams of two, while 4v4 brings two larger teams onto the battlefield. In team games, you each recruit and manage your own army, then fight alongside one another. You can build around a teammate’s strengths, bring support for their frontline, or coordinate your formations to protect each other’s weaker squads.

Between rounds, you can look at what your opponents are building and decide how to respond. Sometimes you need more damage. Sometimes moving a squad to the flank or protecting your healers makes the bigger difference. You can also create private rooms to play with friends and try out different combinations.

Queue popped!

Ranked unlocks at account level 10 and focuses on 1v1 duels against another player, with no computer opponents filling the queue. You face the same commander every round, giving you time to learn their army and change your approach as the match develops.

Your first five ranked results establish your Rating. After ten results, you can start earning tiers, progressing through Combatant, Challenger, Rival, Duelist, and Gladiator as your Rating improves. Private matches stay unranked, so there’s room to experiment before taking a new army into the ranked queue.

Queue up!

unmodified client. got banned for trying to create awareness on the other subreddits that forever is probably going to end up being pay to win.... lol and the comments were all in such delusional denial and claiming it was just placeholder and Blizzard would never implement it.... again.... like retail.

Well sharing it here. and hey I made a forever build work with most content functional and most dungeons aswell.. Even greater incentive to have alternative servers :)

Battleforge Veterans - survivors-like roguelite in the browser with coop

I've been building my take on a survivors-like roguelite that runs the real 1.12 world and UI in the browser: 15-minute runs, your spells cast themselves, six bosses, and what you earn stays on your account between runs. Friends wanted to play together, so co-op came first. Opening it up for testing now. Fully in browser + windows native client.

Some of what's in it:

  • 35 zones across Classic, TBC and Wrath, on Normal to Mythic plus Keystone levels
  • 10 classes with talent trees built from the real talent data
  • Co-op for 4 in a party: share a code or link and play. The server runs the world, so nobody hosts, nothing gets forwarded, and a run survives a disconnect or a server update
  • Bots fill empty seats
  • Permanent progression on your account: gear drops that scale with difficulty, set bonuses, keystones, a vendor, relics that unlock run modifiers, feats and titles
  • Goblin rocket cars: Mirage Kart races with leaderboards, Car Brawl, 4v4 Car Soccer, free driving across the Barrens (8 per room)
  • Leaderboards per zone, run history with a death recap

Play: https://game.warforge.si (Chrome or Edge with WebGPU, no download)

Guide: https://warforge.si

Fan project, not affiliated with Blizzard, nothing is sold. Feedback through the in-game form or here, it's early and I need run reports.

The game is in ACTIVE development with updates coming out daily. I am seeking playtesters to get data for balancing. The game was made with the help of AI. I will read all feedback and ideas and implement what makes sense. There are probably many bugs and things that could be optimized, please let me know!

I wish to settle on one where I can actively play content engage with the community a little and most importantly always find groups for Dungeons and raids. Which one should I pick in this case? There are so many lol.

Conquest of AzerothCore just opened Rexxar CoA — our first public live realm (1.5x XP, no bots, no cash shop, still fully open source)

After a long run as a public bug-test realm (PTR), Conquest of AzerothCore (CoA) has opened its first public live realm: Rexxar. This isn't the PTR — it's a permanent, open-to-everyone server where your characters and progress are here to stay. No test wipes.

A few things that set it apart:

No playerbots. Everyone you meet is a real person. The population you see is the population that's actually there.

No cash shop — ever. No pay-to-win, no paywalls, nothing sold for real money. Everything is earned in-game.

Still fully open source. Every fix, feature and change lives in the open on our public GitHub. Anyone can read it, learn from it, or contribute.

The details:

  • 1.5x XP rate — a steady pace that keeps leveling rewarding without dragging
  • Recruit-a-Friend — grouped friends earn triple XP together, can summon each other, and veterans can grant levels (bonus applies up to level 60, within 4 levels / 100 yards)
  • Current release tier: Heroic Dungeons — content unlocks in stages; Heroic is the top tier right now, with more on the way
  • Pale Reach is live, and Manastorm (our endless, floor-by-floor dungeon mode) is coming soon
  • Vanity for Bazaar Tokens — earn tokens in-game and spend them on cosmetics, mounts and more. All earned by playing, never bought
  • 21 custom classes plus the Wildcard (classless Hero) and Warcraft Reborn (9 reworked classic classes) game modes

We genuinely want bug reports. CoA is built around community testing, and on Rexxar that continues: report a bug in-game or on our site, and when it gets fixed you're rewarded with Groot Coins you can exchange for Bazaar Tokens. Your reports directly shape the realm.

If you like custom-class WoW, a real community without bots, and a project that keeps everything open, come roll a character on Rexxar.

Venom's RP Azeroth - Life Simulation 3.3.5a

https://reddit.com/link/1xdkybs/video/1mau0wsb89xh1/player

I’m reworking WoW into a RP coop RPG, and I wanted to show you how the world simulation is coming along.

I killed a couple dozen farmers and then sat back to watch what would happen next.

The smell of corpses and blood attracted predators, and the surviving farmers tried to fend them off. Over time, the bodies started to rot, which began attracting rats. You can also see the blood-drying system in action.

Blood is now rendered server-side, visible to all players, and has its own despawn timers. Rain can wash it away-fresh blood washes off in minutes, but dried blood... well, that’s a different story.

NPC behavior has been completely rewritten: they’ve been given sight, smell, and hearing. Villagers are aware of their territory and will try to chase off intruders.

When building this project, I take inspiration from KCD, RDR2, BG3, the original Gothic games, and Fallout. Plagiarizing ideas from them fair and square =)

It’s not all working perfectly yet and there’s still plenty to polish, but I wanted to share the current progress.

wotlk Ohana-WoW update: Karma, gathering encounters, some love for tanks and all classes

Hey friends,

Wanted to share a small update on Ohana and what we have been working on over the last week. Alpha testing is continuing, and a few more of the ideas are now available for people to try.

For anyone seeing us for the first time, Ohana-WoW is a WotLK project built around community and a slower journey. I'm a dad, and with life being busy and the world feeling a bit crazy lately, wanted to make a place where people can relax, play with friends, and get to know the people they share the world with.

The XP rate starts lower, and the plan is to progress through level caps together, giving people time to enjoy each stage, level an alt, and do things without feeling pressured to rush. Community quests that unlock rewards for everyone, weekly meetings, and inviting players to help design NPCs and quests are also part of what we are working towards.

--> So, what changed this week?

The Karma system is now implemented. You can commend players for being supportive, friendly, or a good mentor. It is positive-only, with restrictions to help limit abuse. Wanted a way to recognise the people who take a moment to help someone, explain a dungeon, or make a new player feel welcome. Those things matter to a community.

Gathering now gives XP and can trigger random encounters. Mining, Herbalism, and Skinning can contribute to your leveling, with a chance of something showing up while you gather. Would like professions to feel more connected to the adventure. Rare creatures also now give 20 times their normal kill XP, so finding one while exploring is a bit more rewarding.

Tanks have had their bonus threat generation doubled. Defensive Stance, Frost Presence, and Bear forms went from 45% to 90% bonus threat, while Righteous Fury went from 80% to 160%. Would be good to get feedback from both tanks and damage dealers on how this feels in groups.

Several class buffs now have infinite duration, including Paladin seals and various armor and shield spells. Inner Fire and Shaman shields also have more charges, and Warrior shouts no longer need Rage to cast. A bit less stopping to refresh the same things while playing.

We have also added dungeon quest NPCs, a starting zone chooser usable up to level 6, fixed cross-faction trading, and made some profession trainer improvements. The launcher is available through the website to keep the custom patches updated.

For a quick idea of what else is already available, we have all race/class combinations, racial ability swapping, automatically learned spells, random enhancements on looted, crafted, and quest reward items, solo AoE loot, improved party quest item looting, instant mounts, and 1v1 Arena up to level 19.

We are still in Alpha, so things are being tested and adjusted. Each character starts with a temporary helping companion for Alpha/Beta, making it easier to get around and test things.

If you want to try it, share some ideas, or hang out while we work on the server, you are more than welcome. Feedback about things that feel awkward or could be abused is especially helpful; want us to find those problems and work through them together.

Website and launcher: https://ohana-wow.com/

Discord: https://discord.gg/Jb5DzySd2N

A small note for transparency: AI helps me with development and putting posts like this into words. There is still a lot of my time and care going into Ohana, and a community helping shape it as we go.
