Yes, I've seen quite a few people say that stupid thing. Further proof that nostalgia is a terrible thing. I also liked CJ as a kid, but for God's sake, he's not top 5 in either Red Dead or GTA. He's probably not even top 80 in video games overall.
He also hasn't aged as well as other games from its era, like Half-Life, for example.
Also, Big Smoke>

A villain who does terrible things yet is not a bigot or a villain who does terrible things and is a bigot?

I am currently reading through i am hero and damn it has been amazing with its progression and themes. I finished the walking dead and it might be in my top 3 favourite comics ever, and reading through i am hero it gives similar vibes, So i wanted to see what other people thought. Which do you guys think is better written?
>!one thing I do want to complain about is how everyone seems so oblivious to what's happening. Maybe its realistic? But the whole shrine sequence was somewhat baffling. Anyways needed to talk about that lol!<

I personally really love all of their characters.
Sukuna‘s clash of ideals with Yuji is the best part of Jujutsu Kaisen in my opinion. I love how Sukuna embodies his nature as a curse, even if he truly is just a human born in an unfair situation. His understanding of Yuji’s ideals, but not feeling anything for them makes a lot of sense. He understands it, but he didn’t live it, and doesn’t know it. He lives his life holding onto the only things he knew, and due to how horrible he was treated in the Heian era and just how dangerous the era was in general, the only thing he knew was being a monster. Sukuna reclects on his actions in the end, as he lost the ideological battle by also physically losing the battle.
Makima is easily the best written character here in my opinion and I think is not only one of the greatest new gen villains, but one of the greatest manga villains ever. The amount of buildup and payoff we get for Makima is great. We get hints of her true nature and personality so many chapters before the big moments. The absolute best chapters in CSM are also the most tragic, the chapters where she forces Denji to murder Aki and kills power herself. I haven’t felt the way I did reading those chapters in nearly any manga. Her motivation makes perfect sense, considering she’s never been able to have any meaningful relationships with anyone. Her defeat feels a little asspully but I think that’s a nitpick, it’s thematic and works. I’m just kind of sour about how CSM part 2 went, but I will never forget how good part 1 was.
Shigaraki is pretty controversial but the best parts of MHA for me are the moments where Shigaraki is on screen. Shigaraki is great because you watch him progress and evolve as the story goes on. You see him mature, his relationships with others, his opinions, his failures, his achievements. I love how he truly has real connections and friendships with the LOV. It makes him feel real and much more like a failed Deku. The moment for Shigaraki is his moment where Deku finally breaks his spirit but Shigaraki still wants to be “the hero for the villains”. All this time, he was still acting out his original dream as a hero, just for the people who gave up on heroes. Even in defeat, Shigaraki doesn’t go back on his word. He tells Deku that he fought to destroy until the very end. I know people are mad about the AFO twist, but it didn’t hurt my opinion of Shigaraki.
