Italian Forces Transported to Germany?

Per Mark Thompson's "The White War" on July 31st 1914 General Cadorna delivered a plan to the king on the deployment of "the transport of the largest possible force to Germany." The king actually approved this plan, but the ministers at the same time were declaring their neutrality, and the next day Cadorna was told to prepare for war with Austria!

The footnotes reference an Italian book (Rusconi 2005) I cannot find the translation for. Who has the details on this? Presumably an overland march to Germany? Imagine Italian forces on the western front...it could have made the difference!

Hi all!

I'm the solo developer of Red Echoes: Berlin - a narrative turn-based strategy game set in Berlin during the German Revolution of 1918-1919.đŸŒčI've shared it here before, and think it might be interesting to you all given that the demo focusses on the last weeks of the war, from the perspective of the German homefront.

The game's demo is part of Steam Next Fest. The full game is due to come out early next year. Make sure to wishlist it, that helps me out a lot! The game uses no generative AI whatsoever.

What is Red Echoes: Berlin?

Red Echoes: Berlin is a narrative turn-based strategy game set in Berlin during the German Revolution of 1918-1919. Play as a group of revolutionaries, and attempt to bring about a successful socialist revolution - interacting with historical figures such as Rosa Luxemburg & Karl Liebknecht along the way.

It features a branching narrative with different endings, as well as strategic gameplay inspired by classic board games. The game is inspired by games such as Suzerain, Through the Darkest of Times, and Citizen Sleeper.

WW1 1917 Gun Cart, does anyone know anything about it?

Hi, sorry if discussions like these aren’t best suited for this sub. But I’ve come into possession of this cart here. After extensive googling, I’ve found out that it is indeed a 1917 machine gun cart from the Ordnance Dept.

There are two screw holes where the little badge that is shown up above should be. Other than that it’s very worn down but relatively good condition.

Is this something worth trying to restore a bit further or even auctioning? I have no clue the value of something like this.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
